    Alaska and Hawaii
or The Last Frontier and The Aloha State
The two states that don’t border another state in these United States
Both the last two states to join the Union.
Both have a really high cost of living. This is because not only are the two desirable states to live in, but they are so isolated, so far away from most other places where most things are produced. The high cost of shipping causes everything in both states to be much more expensive. That said, Alaska has a lower cost of living compared to Hawaii.
Perhaps because of the high cost of living, both states are slowly losing residents.
Both are dominated by their largest cities. Anchorage, in Alaska, and Honolulu in Hawaii. Around half of all Alaskan residents live in the Anchorage metropolitan area, and more than 2/3 of all of Hawaii’s residents live in the Honolulu metropolitan area.
Both have dramatically diverse and beautiful natural scenery, and both have dramatically diverse rainfall patterns. It’s kind of crazy actually. Ok, so in southeast Alaska in the coastal mountain ranges there, they can often get more than 200 inches (508 cm) of precipitation a year! While just south of the Alaska Range they get about 60 inches (152.4 cm) a year, 12 inches (30.5 cm) a year in the interior, and less than 6 inches (15.2 cm) a year in the North Slope.

Which two states should I compare next?
Edit: I accidentally said "Honohulu" instead of Honolulu. I make mistakes.

Quite a few homeless people do that. As you know many out of state workers come here. Myself included. I live in Florida. Had a regular job before covid-19. Anyway we have 2 or 3 guys who were homeless or borderline homeless sleeping people couches in Hawaii and they're working here for this season. Even tho you save money a philosophy is just sleep outside in Hawaii.. why spend it??? Pay $3/$400 night for a hotel... Why when it's 75/80 degrees in winter and you can sleep outside and pay $50/ month to take a shower at a health club. If I didn't already have a home in Florida I just might go to Hawaii in the winter and kind of live outside

Hey man love the video! Got a lot of Hawai’i’s history correct and thank you so much for helping show people who’ve probably never seen it before the culture of my beautiful home. However, I would’ve appreciated some correct pronunciations. It’s not hard, especially with the internet, to find how to say things correctly and it would go a long way towards stopping the mocking of the Hawaiian language and culture in American culture that’s been happing since since Hawai'i was discovered. Also, the Constitution signed in 1887 is known as the Bayonet Constitution because King Kalakaua was forced to sign it under literal threat of death by Bayonet. This video also shows a distinct lack of blame on the part of the US government in the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom whose troops were used to storm ‘Iolani Palace and de-throne Queen Lili’uokalani and while president Grover Cleveland recognized the evil deeds that happened to Hawai’i, president McKinley after him was much more in the American imperialism tradition and pressured congress to try and annex Hawai’i, failed in doing so, and eventually just took over Hawai’i from the white business owners who, backed by the US military, has taken it years earlier.

Thanks Mr. Beat, this was a very good video. I'm an Alaskan resident that was born and raised here and I could tell you've done some good research on my state. The only feedback I have is that I wish you were able to put more coverage on the Alaskan tribes during Russian colonization, as some pretty interesting stuff happened, such as my tribe, the Tlingit tribe being able to fight the Russians out of southeast Alaska for about two years. It was done by the warrior Katlian. It's a pretty major part of our history.

I just finished my last two states to visit in Sept '21, flying first to the Big Island and Oahu and then up to Anchorage. 6 days in Hawai'i and then 8 in Alaska. Saw as much as we could. My parents met in Alaska and that was always the draw for me to go there, the nostalgia. However, I fell in love with the Big Island. Love the people, the diversity of climate and the lack of being overrun by tourism. Now I need to go back to each and really soak it in...
