Molten Valkeen: Used by many FIFA referees. Highest dB out of all pro referee whistles (127.6).

Acme Tornado: Also a popular FIFA whistle. It's got the highest frequency rate out of all pro referee whistles and therefore sounds higher than the molten for some people.

Pro Match Unique: Very similar to the Fox 40 and and also the Acme Tornado 2000. Cheaper than both.
Pro Match Taifun: Also called "Devastator", The 3rd most expensive whistle in the video. Actually more expensive than the Pro Match Unique.
As you can hear in the video the sound completely differs from the other whistles and it can not handle full power. Not recommended for referees who want to advance.

This pro match unique makes me think of a fox40 pearl mixed up to a classic whistle.

I heard the valkeen for the first time today at a hockey match and I couldn't resist asking the umpire what it was! It's a beautiful whistle. Crisp, clear and far superior than the fox40. On top of all that it's very, very loud. So much so that you don't just hear the whistle, you feel it. It is expensive but it's well worth every cent.
Additionally, it's super lightweight & easy to hold even without the finger grips provided. The whistle is perfectly designed so that the air flows seamlessly through the chambers. You barely have to blow it for it to make the trademark shrill. After using the valkeen and then going back to the Fox40 I found the Fox to be like blowing through a straw. You put in a lot of puff for not much sound... which definitely isn't something I look for in a whistle.
If you want to be noticed then you need the valkeen. There's no doubt about it.

Yeah I know this is old comment but anyway, I somehow find it odd they use Valkeen at the hockey match. What I understand they prefer more like Acme products.
@@MegaStara I should clarify I was referring to outdoor field hockey haha definitely wouldn't use a Valkeen on an ice rink!

I prefer the Molten Valkeen. Sure expensive but this is the best whistle that i ever use since 5 years and it's still working on a high level. Thanks for this Video

Do you ever use other frequencies of Valkeen? That is, do you blow the whistle with the bottom or top holes closed? Can you tell me a good situation to use such a lowe frequency tune ?

Fox 40 Classic is the Best Sound.
But for Loudnes is Valkeen.
I tried many and settled on Fox 40 Sonik Blast with the plastic mouth protector (CMG). I get complaints from players it's too loud if they're nearby.

Thank you. The Pro match is really more like a Fox 40 replica. I don’t know what Frisk used. I haven’t tested any other whistle other than this video shows.
@@RefereeChannel Thank you for the answer. I thought about Pro Match Taifun, but I think that Frisk has used it. Is it popular in Scandinavia? In Poland it is almost impossible to buy it. Only by the internet you can get it. Acme is great, but also very difficult to buy it in store, only foreign websites. Good luck :)
Yes that Taifun is called ”Devestator” in other places. It was common during the 80’s-90’s.

Isn't the Pro Match Unique same as Fox 40 Classic? The designs are same.
The designs are not the same. Neither is the sound. Unique has round edges and Classic has sharp ones. Unique is louder. See the bigger whistle test I uploaded.

+Jack Diplock The Pro Match Unique is not being sold anymore. But it is almost identical to a Fox 40 whistle. So if you want that sound go for the Fox 40.
Is the Molten Valkeen really worth the 500% + more price tag of the others? From the video, it doesn't sound particularly any more impressive than the fox 40 or the Tornado, but obviously some of the frequencies may have been lost on the video, but never having heard one in person I have nothing to go off of.
+David Elliott The video doesn't do it full justice. The sound really cuts straight into your ear even if you stand 50 meters away from it. It's an impressive whistle. But there is nothing wrong with FOX or Acme either.

I have officiate with fox 40 and now I use valkeen, in my opinion basing it only on my senses and reaction of the players valkeen is superior with less effort you do a lot more.

Hello. I had that video before. But made this one later and removed that one. The reason I don't want that video is because I shouldn't tell people how to use their whistle and move on the field. It is not appropriate unless I would have been a referee instructor or similar. I think the match videos are good examples of what you are asking for.
I watch the other videos too but that one his the one I need. I search my you tube history 3 times looking for that video. Any chance I can get that video please? we all watch referee and take stuff from them to help us be a better referee. The video wasn't telling me how to run but how to blow my whistle using different sound for different calls. thank you

I would like to buy the Molten Valkeen but I have seen that it has 125 decibels. The tolerable limit for the ear is about 90 decibels. Isn't that dangerous?
Basically every pro referee whistle is over 115 db. The loudness is not as noticeable for the person using a whistle as the ones hearing it nearby.

Bra där! Alltid lika svårt att göra en bedömning vad man ska köpa och hur det kommer att låta. Gissar att Dolphin F är snarlik Valkeen.
Tack. Dolphin låter väldigt likt Molten men inte lika skarpt. Designen är även väldigt lik och därför är den lika lätt att blåsa i.
***** Ja, det är värt det. Jag vet inte var du dömer eller vilken nivå men man får ju lätt pengarna tillbaka efter max 2 matcher och den kommer aldrig sluta fungera eller bli sämre med tiden heller.

Testing whistles on a field? Haha no. To me a workout day consists of gym/sprints during lunch time and running at night.

The valkeen comes at a hefty price compare to the rest, but personally i think its worth it, i started with the fox40 and it was good, till i bought the valkeen and used it for several matches and its worth it, no longer use my fox40

Acme tornado 2000 is the loudest and the BEST value for the money. Acme Sounds better/louder then 8-10 times more expensive Molten Valkeen. Pro Match Taifun -> SUCKS

No idea. Maybe to increase the feeling of exclusivety. Just like any expensive brand. But the sound is great and it’s easy to hold and use.
