    I’m a nurse, and when I learned about the nicotinic receptors it made me think that there had to be some benefits from nicotine. then we learned that smokers are actually at less risk for developing colon cancer than non smokers. Of course, in general, smoking increases the risks for a multitude of illnesses, but the effects on colon cancer is so interesting when you think about how smoking “prevents” constipation. Again, the point being that it’s NOT the smoking that provides protection, but the nicotine.

      I have to say that just because they are called "nicotinic" receptors doesn't mean they are designed for nicotine. This is the same misconception that people sometimes have with cannabanoid receptors.

      Have you thought that maybe the amounts of pesticides and chemicals added into cigarettes might be a bigger problem than pure tobacco?

    Cigarettes and alcohol addiction actually destroyed my life. I started drinking alcohol since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting Cigarettes and alcohol addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.

      Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Germany. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them

      Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

    I'm a combat vet with TBI, and PTSD, and my battles with mental health are daily. I loaded my mouth with Skoal to make 20 years in the military. Retired now, I vape dry herb tobacco (American Spirit loose tobacco). Just 3 or 4 times daily, but it still helps keep me even. This video isn't shocking to me at all.

      Same here brother. Honestly Copenhagen is the only reason I made it through multiple combat deployments - I swear it helped keep completely focused and eliminated my ADHD, worries, etc

    As someone with ADHD and other learning disabilities, nicotine (in safer delivery devices than smoking/vaping like pouches or gum) has absolutely helped my focus and concentration in the classroom environment. I used to have an endless 'brain fog' feeling and focusing in class felt almost impossible with how fast my brain moved. It's helped me be able to slow down my rapid thoughts, and place my mental focus in one place. Not to say there aren't downsides, but for me, the benefits greatly outweigh the negatives. Just don't start smoking cigs, you just look homeless.

      You do realize Adderall is way way more effective right?
      Not only that Amphetamines can (temporarily) raise your IQ as high as 1 standard deviation.
      It is also significantly less addictive.

    I confirm that smoking helps schizophrenia symptoms. I remember learning this curious fact many years ago in med school. Dopaminergic pathways are involved in both schizophrenia and Parkinson’s. And cholinergic pathways play a significant role in Alzheimer’s which is why the main treatment consists of meds that increase acetylcholine in the brain. Interesting to know that nicotine affects both. Great presentation!

      I went to a coroner's conference and schizophrenics have big nicotine receptors so they get short relief from their symptoms hence they chain smoke.

    I’ve been using 7mg patches for long covid symptoms. Helps with lung congestion and definitely improves my mood which gives me more energy. I love it. Don’t use it every day.

    While cigars themselves contain up to 400mg of nicotine, data shows the average actually absorbed when properly consumed (not inhaling) is around 1 to 4.5 MG. I have noticed much better sleep, and considerable relief from anxiety smoking 1 to 2 cigars a week.

    I found it interesting that you mentioned that constipation and Parkinsons are related. Because you learn in ayurvedic medicine it is absolutely clear that they belong together. As for my experience I have to add that I have never seen a better effect on Parkinsons as with ayurvedic treatment.
    Also really cool facts about nicotine, that I have heard of before but wasn't sure if they werde true.

    You didn't mention anything in regards to dose but I think it's very important. If you suspect that it could be of benefit to you, start extremely low. For example I've found 1/4th of a milligram to be sufficient for me to have positive effects. Additionally the effects don't get meaningfully better if i doubled or tripled the dose. And I'm glad you mentioned this: use it as needed for brain work or whenever you anticipate needing extra focus. For my first month of usage I was on 1mg every day, and predictably i got slightly addicted and the benefits waned. I've found once or twice a week, very specifically timed that nicotine gave me great benefits.
    For reference I'm an 80kg male, so base your dosage off of that if you're thinking of trying this.

    I read and article years ago about the use of nicotine patches to help with cognition in individuals with Down Syndrome. My oldest has DS but wife was completely opposed to trying them out even intermittently. I like how you phrased it "we need to disentangle cancer from nicotine". I arrived at that conclusion many years ago, but she's not there yet.

      Idk your situation atm but you should try putting them on a low carb diet temporarily and see if there is any difference in their behavior, it may also be worthwhile to try raw kombucha

    Im not going to lie, i've been on and off tobacco-free nictone snus packets for the past couple of years (never smoked). I can confirm a number of the topics discussed and I think for me, it's a good occasional nootropic when I need an extra focus boost. I keep nic use sporadic enough so it doesn't become a damaging habit again, and it is good to know we're in an age with tobacco/smoke free options available.

    Wow, this may help explain my health improvements since starting smoking only a few puffs throughout the day of pipe tobacco. Not large amounts but over the time I've been doing it my gastro health has skyrocketed and swelling from arthritis etc has plummeted. Don't smoke but if you do, not cigs and not much.

      I enjoy some pipe tobacco myself, I feel it's much less addictive than other things, and at least to me, tastes better than smoking. I can not endorse, nor confirm nor deny if I had any symptoms. But I'll keep an eye out in the future now because of this video

      The tobacco pipe is a great comfort. I enjoyed it dearly throughout my 20's. These days I use nicotine pouches (Skruf), not quite so relaxing, contemplative and enjoyable as a nice pipe, but it delivers the vitamin N discretely and does the job.

    Other than nicotine having a calming effect (started smoking at least a pack a 45 years ago, but switched to vaping 9 years ago), and working to reduce stress levels, I found unequivocally that it also definitely helps with my chronic back pain due to MVA many decades ago, and I can postpone going for the prescription pain medications and sometimes don't need them at all when I vape to control the pain. However, downside, I have tried quitting altogether and have discovered I am highly addicted... at least there is an upside to my addiction.

      It’s probably because there’s more than just nicotine in those vapes. It’s the other chemicals taht are most likely addictive, not the pure nicotine

      Dr. Bryan Ardis mentions pyrazines in cigarettes as the man-made chemicals that makes people addicted to cigarettes.
      We could also add ammonia, which is also present in the poor man's cocaine aka crack.
      However, I would take Dr. Ardis' inputs with some pinches of salt...

    I’ve been vaping with very low amounts of nicotine for a couple years now - .25 per 100ml or less - while in college studying computer science and I have definitely noticed it acting as a nootropic aid when I study and take tests. I have a 4.0 and am about to graduate this coming summer. I am not addicted to it and I experience zero negative side effects from cessation. *Edit: There is extensive history of schizophrenia and bipolar disease on my moms side of my family.*

    Started Pipe smoking, I find it as long as you don't abuse (if you get carried away you'll be punished with a headache) it's pretty good. I usually smoke two bowls while reading a book with some water on the side before taking a shower in the morning. The amount of Nicotine I'm cosuming is about 2-3mg so it's nowhere near that of one stick of cigarettes of 8-12mg or continous vape smoking. Also the risk are near to that of a nonesmoker as you don't inhale it to the lungs and you're encouraged not to smoke it to hot but rather control the temperature through practice

    Never been addicted, but used it on and off. I find it tremendously beneficial. With nicotine I feel more focussed and at ease, and the dopamine rush is appreciated in these stressful times we are living in. I prefer Swedish nicotine pouches such as Skruf. I've never understood the why nicotine is said to be the most addictive drug in the world, I've never been able to form an addiction to it. I miss it when I don't have it, sure, but I can manage just fine. It's a great nootropic and to be honest I prefer it over alcohol and caffeine.

      @Big Chief why so expensive? Is it from shipping? That sucks. I would say buy bulk deals from us suppliers, that way you can get the most for your money. I love coffee, don't smoke too much because I like to relax when I have cigars. I might try the nicotine supplement. I have ocd, and as I've gotten older, I understand it more, but at times it still gets very difficult. I don't get the addiction stuff much either. I've smoked weed, cigarettes, drink liquor etc but I've noticed when I overdid it, or used it emotionally, and I cut it out. I love caffeine though, the best way is black. Such a clean fuel, like pure gasoline lol. As far as nicotine, I choose cigars because it's just natural leaf

      @@creeplife2802 We have the highest tobacco taxes in the world, over $1300 a kg I think now. It sucks. Can try importing and sometimes they get through tax free, but if they get picked up a box ends up costing a fortune. I also take my coffee black, every morning. Caffeine and nicotine are the only drugs I truly love, they help to ease my depression and anxiety and help me to focus. But I have no trouble going without if i have to. I haven’t used any nicotine for over 3 months now, just don’t want to spend the money at the moment. But I will get more eventually, no doubt about that.

      @Big Chief what I started doing, since I have ocd, I get this very high anxiety, I do these stupid rituals/ habits to try and ease it. So, it ends up raising my blood pressure, and high blood pressure is linked to so much bullshit. I've learned there's something called vascular dementia, essentially I think I've been making myself crazy. What I've started taking is l-citrulline. Not only does it boost the blood flow, but it decreases all that tension in my head. I also feel more fluid in a way. Just think it might help you as well. If anything it'll keep your blood pressure down so there's that

    Well, as a smoker ... I'm trying to shift to e-cigarettes now. But anecdotally, I like cigarettes when having bowel movements. And over my career, I thought that nicotine stimulated my ability to do problem solving as well. Smoking is definitely a bad habit, but it is illuminating to hear about the benefits of nicotine as a separate issue. Thanks for the video.

      Shifting onto ecigs from smoking takes time. Do both for a while and make sure you choose the right ecig and the right level of nicotine or you may give up trying. 10 years I'm off real cigs and now vape.

      I had a harder time quitting e cigarettes than actual cigarettes. There's no filter with ecigs so your nicotine concentrate is higher. Cigarettes, as bad as they are, do have a filter, meaning less

    I have ADHD and autism. Nicotine has been an incredible help to me. I’ve been smoking a pipe then cigarettes then a vape to quit cigs. My doctor told me vapes are worse for you and it really started to run my life so I went back to cigarettes. I’ve been wanting to quit tobacco for a long time because of a history of lung cancer from smoking in my family, but nicotine has been so beneficial for my brain health that I’ve been conflicted about quitting. Thanks for talking about tobacco free nicotine and posting that link to it. I think I finally found a solution to my problem.

But I would recommend looking online, their are lots of website that sell nicotine pouches as well as chewing tobacco or snus.

    In my experience nicotine gum was very difficult to limit it, and then stop.
    I started using it only when trying to focus. That worked for a couple months, but then I started to really enjoy it.

    Just to add that Dr Bryan Ardis also revealed that smokers also are less likely to have or deteriorate into severe COVID-19 (obviously heavy smoking and the harmful chemicals within will destroy you, but we are talking about again, the NICOTINE inside of it), and it was just creepy with the timing of that finding vs that horse from New Zealand banned smoking.
    It is freaking eerie.

    Great video. I used the gum years ago to quit snuff. I see the benefit of nicotine for sure; just a caveat that it will increase blood glucose and blood pressure. Btw, its an excellent fat burner as well.

    Regarding the studies done with smokers, the thing is, tobacco has more in it than just nicotine, for example solanesol. Who knows what else. So we can't assume it's only the nicotine that's the beneficial compound.
    I'm not telling anybody to smoke but that's the traditional tasty way I enjoy it. I think it's fine to smoke a little here and there, that it's more about the overall balance of things in life.

    I occasionally use nicotine to relax with at home as an alternative to alcohol as I quit drinking some time ago, not that I drank very often anyway. I am aware of its addictive properties however so I limit its use to once or twice per fortnight.

    I’ve had a major surgery in my abdomen two years ago, removing Sarkoma tumors, resulting in tremendous amount of scar tissue that bothers my intestines causing constipation. I use «snus» tobacco/nicotine pouches daily and that has helped me out a-lot with this issue.

    The gum is my go to, has been for 15 years easy. You have to keep those lungs clean, no vaping guys. Still get the benefits with the gum without the lung inflammation

    I have just broken a horrible addiction to nicotine, cigarettes for 15 years, vapes, nicotine lozenges & nicotine gum for the last few years. After being in treatment for an addiction to opiates and having 3 months off of those. I have always "needed" tons of nicotine, 2 packs a day type person. As an ADHD person, I have noticed nothing but improvements in my anxiety and energy levels since quitting. Perhaps I'm an outlier, but I would not risk going back for any benefits. The only way I'm going back to either of those substances would be relapse due to cravings and I'm working VERY hard to make sure that never happens.

      @@Amy_Watson I hate to tell you, I easily put down cigarettes for nicotine vapes and then easily put down vapes for nicotine lozenges and would need to suck on 5mg lozenges several times throughout the day, every day, to the point I was going through tubes of them in 2 or 3 days that were meant to last 2 weeks. When I stopped the lozenges, I started to withdrawal and was mad, agitated, irritable and anxious, even depressed. Just like when quitting cigs. If I made it a day or and put a lozenge in, I would feel an extremely pleasurable high/dizziness from the nicotine and immediately feel good again. I WAS addicted to nicotine. I would know, I was there.

    The NICOTINE PATCH is being studied for the prevention and even improvements in Alzheimer’s patients. I use a patch because I’m 74 years old and I wish now to prevent this, but I also want to improve Long Covid symptoms that have persisted for over two years. I was not a smoker. The patch must be started gradually over some months. This study is out of Vanderbilt University. Also you mentioned addiction. Nicotine by itself is not addicting, but I am doing so well on it that I would be hard pressed to quit the patch.

    Thank you so much for this video - it has been incredibly helpful. I have tried quitting smoking several times in my life, including staying off sigarettes for several years. The worst part for me was NOT the cravings or mental addiction - it was more that my body did not work as it used to. As my lungcapacity increased, my cronic constipation set it, and my ability to focus got reduced. It got so bad, and I got so sick my doctor was worried about colon cancer due to all the severe sympthoms. Luckily all the tests came out negative. I tried all sorts of ways and diets to combat my lack of bowel movement to no avail. SO - I was back to smoking.... this was 10 yeras ago. However I really do want to quit smoking - due to all its other really bad health effects. I had written a list of all the benefits og quitting, but also the lists of what was bad for me about quitting. This video gave me a deeper undertstanding og the link between nicotine and the body, and it fit my case to the tea. Armed with this knowledge, I am now much more optimistic about quitting smoking, as I have been pointed to a possible stratgy for avoiding the negative effects of quitting smoking. HURRAY!! :-)

      I was addicted to cigarettes 25 years ago and I found it very difficult to stop. I've recently started experimenting with snus nicotine pouches for the benefits. I am careful not to take a pouch everyday but after a only a few weeks the pouches are now never far from my thoughts. It's so addictive. I'm determined not to need them, I don't want to be a slave to nicotine.

    I'm using nicotine sprey and it helped me a lot. My sleep I so much better. I'm able to stay asleep for the entire night. Five years was struggling with little to none sleep.
    My neck spasms after stress events was nightmare. Now it's almost gone. I'm handling stress way better. My ears ringing is much better(I believe it is the better sleep the reason)
    My breathing is deeper e slower. I can breathe 1-2 times per minute easily.
    The only issue is the nausea and my stomach gets very upset some times. Still adjusting to the dose. My sprey is 1mg.

    Never having smoked I started vaping unflavored nicotine for its supposed health benefits. What I found is that vaping is incredibly addictive and it seems to affect my lungs. Now I just put a few drops of vape juice under my tongue before a workout and the effects are noticeable. I can superset with high intensity and minimal rest for about an hour until I suddenly the wall, which indicates the end of the workout.

      @@Fredman5551 apparently not. I feel the urge to vape but not to put vape juice under my tongue. Andrew Hubberman has mentioned that the dopamine hit caused by Nicotine is much stronger if inhaled compared to others means of administration which may be the reason behind its addictiveness.

      Lol, in my 20s and into my 30s I did this. Now It's black coffee, a glass of water, and a nicotine patch, works wonders!
      I study a lot too and I do find wearing the patch significantly helps my ability to focus and study for longer.

    I don't find it addictive at all. Same with coffee. I think the whole addiction issue is really misunderstood by people. People self-medicate with these things and when they try to be without them, they confuse the effects of bad diet etc with withdrawals.

    Just to leave some food for thought:
    Most of the data we have on the health effects of tobacco come from addicts who smoke conventional cigarettes, which contain additives not present in the natural product, and which inevitably undergo chemical reactions as a result of combustion during the smoking itself. We have a lot less data on tobacco use as practiced by the American natives since long before Europeans came to the New World: smoking (usually not inhaling) tobacco leaf that was cured _only_ and nothing else, if even cured at all. Not to mention the cultivation methods, genetics, and the prevalence of relatives of tobacco (nicotiana tabacum) such as nicotiana rustica.

    I've been long distance backpacking the past 3 summers. and this last summer I decided to experiment with nicotine. I foolishly started with a 6 mg Zyn and almost browned myself, the stuff's no joke. I found the come down to be not worth the high though, maybe I need less of a dose. Even 3mg was too much for me. Definitely a good hit of dopamine there.

      That dose is too much and as you mentioned the low down following the high i.e. drowsiness, nausea is unpleasant. I think microdosing perhaps 1mg , is the way to go to get a nice initial dopamine hit followed by a prolonged and sustained level of focus and stimulation for optimal benefit.

    I struggled with alcohol use disorder for a long time and being sober now. The effects of brain fog and memory are frustrating. I started using zyn a few times a week and it really helps with cravings and I think it will help with the brain fog too. There are so many negative videos on nicotine and addiction but in moderation it’s great. It subdues cravings and the day after drinking there’s a lingering depressive effect that the nicotine clears up.

    I struggled with adhd when I was a kid. On and off meds and couldn’t focus or sit still in class. When I started smoking at 21 most of my adhd symptoms disappeared but my body was a wreck after a few years from the cigarettes. 6 years ago I switched to vaping. Now I play hockey 3 times a week, do intense cardio 3 times a week, eat really well, practice yoga and meditation every day, lift weights and I’ve never felt better. I’m about to sell my company too and I’m convinced that the nicotine has treated my adhd that I had when I was a kid. Just had to find a way to use it without harming my body too much. I know a lot of people think vaping is bad, and I’m sure it is. But i don’t feel like a smoker anymore. My circulation is good. My lungs are clear and my breathing is normal. I’m hyper aware of my feelings/body sensations so if something isn’t good for me I can feel it loud and clear.

      You're missing the big picture. You're eating better, physically active, probably sleeping better, etc. All of these HUGE lifestyle changes are definitely doing you more good than the nicotine.

      Yep indeed helps with and eases anyone with some kind of IBS or digestive disorder. Especially constipation and little bit of bloating. Main reason outside of its calming and uplifting effects. Though the real uplifting effects is when I can get a good bowel movement going, therefore I don't feel as sluggish. It doesn't matter what I may eat at times . . That gassy bloated constipated feeling sucks. So yeah it's best to be mindful of what source for your nicotine consumption that you may want/need to use.

    Hasn't nicotine been shown to decrease serum levels of testosterone? Doesn't that mean that nicotine causes more harm than good, especially to men?       @@offensivearch From what I've read (and I could be miss-remembering) it's nicotine. Although all the additional toxic chemicals you inhale from smoking are probably adding to the problem.

    I have nicotine gum once a week. I started smoking for one whole year also notice the benefits from smoking but my cognitive ability started decline rapidly so I decided to quit within 9 months of smoking and looked into the benefits of nicotine and started taking just nicotine gum.

      @@tumbleweeduk7479 I've noticed being way more alert, focus, and more energy. It's like coffee in a way tbh but more intense also feel happy without the drawbacks from smoking. Since you become more focus you'll eat less also this be my case but don't get become dependent on it. To truly reap the benefits take it randomly or when you need to do something tedious.

    FYI Nicotine helps with Covid symptoms too believe or not. Dr. Bryan Ardis figured that out, and has actually recommended Nicotine therapy to cure long Covid symptoms that people are still struggling with for some odd reason like loss of smell. Also smokers were the least likely people to be hospitalized for Covid.

      @@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 If you're going to smoke do it through Pipe smoking tobacco, you don't inhale it to the lungs and you're using a less adulterated Tobacco as opposed for cigarettes. For example two bowls (1 hour of smoking) of Pipe smoking give you a micro dose of 2-3mg of Nic but if you smoke a single cigarette stick that would be 8-12mg ( 10-15 mins) with Nicotine only solutions you want to have complete control of how much u intake as to not become addicted

      Smokers were the least likely people to be hospitalized for Covid!? As an ER doctor this is total crap. You’ve clearly never seen COPD, reactive airway disease, emphysema. I’ve seen smokers die the fastest to respiratory diseases like Covid.

    I’ve recently started using the mini lozenges to treat compulsive eating and other adhd symptoms. So far it’s working amazingly well. I might have tried this sooner but i was hopelessly addicted to cigarettes between the ages of 15 and 27, I’m 36 now. It was scary trying it again after having been off of cigarettes for so long because i was afraid it would make me want to smoke again. It hasn’t though.

      True. I haven’t been a huge smoker and I haven’t even been doing it that long. About 3 years I think I was smoking around 3-5 cigarettes a day and tried to quit a few times but I felt I couldn’t. I either relapsed on cigarettes or switched to vaping which funnily enough, made my lungs feel worse. Until one time I asked God to help me stop and I did. I had a pack sitting on the counter for months and never even thought about smoking. I did smoke again after a few months but I realized I’m no longer addicted to it. I haven’t smoked in months and I’ve recently started using zyn pouches since I saw the Huberman podcast on nicotine. It’s definitely super helpful for many things and I’m glad I don’t feel like crap from smoking or vaping. But I do want to try the Nic nac naturals since he says it’s cleaner and purer.

    My mom was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's. It is interesting that the constipation, gut, and IBS symtoms didn't seem to be prominent in the beginning but now a couple decades after her diagnosis they are a major problem. It seems like these problems were always there but she wasn't aware of them. In my reading of the research the pathogenisis of Parkinson's mainly involves metabolic dysfunction, specifically oxidative stress not being addressed (damage caused by excess free radicals, which themselves are produced as a natural result of oxidative phosphorylation), but the recent work has been finding more links to gut health.

    I'm 68, and my successful ADHD treatment was criminalized by Family Health Centers of San Diego after my psychiatrist disappeared under mysterious circumstances. I am seriously taking up vaping because I can no longer get the medications I want and need. Extremely nervous about getting addicted again but I know it works.

      @@newhorizonsrequired7832 I was diagnosed at 23. I was never a smoker, but, this year I started trying nicotine pouches (basically "dip" without the tobacco). I admit it was a very random and impulsive decision. Most people use them to help quit smoking, and I just started out of nowhere with no prior nicotine dependence. That said...even though I didn't take it with ADHD in mind, it does seem to help my symptoms. However, I like it TOO much. It's VERY addictive, and keeping my use in check is hard. Once I developed a tolerance (one pouch used to make me nauseous), it was too easy to just rotate them in and out and pop them all day long. Be careful.

      i would start off small, slow and low doses... I heard about nicotine for protection from the bioweapon and one time I chewed a whole piece of the gum and it made me feel terrible as I think a lot of toxins were mobilized. Now I just bite off a quarter piece and mix it with a couple pieces of healthier gum .. and I feel no difference which is a good sign.

    If you have constipation issues, do this: make a smoothie every day as your first meal of the, and add 2 teaspoon nigella seeds to your smoothie, it does absolutely wonder for your bowel movement! I do this every day and it feels very naturally as well.

    I use Swedish snus portions, the real stuff, and haven't had problems with constipation or any adverse health effects. I used to smoke a pack or more per day of cigarettes until I quit in 2018. My oral health has improved exponentially and I'm able to walk a lot further without having to catch my breath. That's just a few benefits to using a nicotine product for me.

    I have been reading the book Niacin the real story. It was original called nicotine acid. High doses of niacin have shown improvement in mental illness including schizophrenia and depression. Also Parkinson. What I'm not sure is how Niacin is linked to Nicotin. Are they the same? It's very interesting to me all the benefits.

    @highintensityhealth Not sure if you would know the answer to this question: I’ve heard that nicotine ages the skin faster. So, is it the actual nicotine, or the 5,000 other chemicals in cigarettes that age the skin?
    PS. I’ve never smoked a cigarette but love NicNac and Lucy gum. I break the NN into 1/4’s and the gum into 1/3’s. It’s a game changer for my TBI.

    I can speak to the cholinergic effect of nicotine. I have multiple stabilized brain injuries from a rough childhood & vaping keeps me from snapping. I also have a family history of Parkinson's & have poor gut motility without vaping & daily magnesium glycinate. Thx Mike, this was pretty great.

    Yeeeeah, I'd rather I never again be able concentrate than entering the nicotine withdrawal cycle again. Anyway, my peaks of concentration during my 20 year addiction's lifecycle were lower than my troughs since, cause I don't get distracted thinking when my next cigarette will come.

    I use "nicotine pouches" myself low- dose ..bout 6 p/day..never smoked in my life! *Don't drink. Eat well. Healthy weight etc. Like Rogue brand. Use to reduce anxiety & def the cognitive benefits are very good* 👍🏻 -Ohio

    That's absolutely insane the link between schizophrenia and nicotine. I was in a mental health residential treatment center and the 2 people with schizophrenia smoked at least 1-2 packs a day.

    Love you Mike, but nicotine is a disaster to the veins and arteries. Nearly all of my patients who have heart attacks and strokes, use some form of nicotine.
    Admittedly, it is great for the brain however.

    I came off antidepressants and started using a nicotine spray. Has been a game changer. Although it's difficult limiting the amount I use. Trying to stick to 12mg per day but often that blows out. Not sure how much is too much...
