FYI contribute to your pretax retirement plans. That lowers your taxable income and grows your net worth by compound interest. In addition employers often match a certain amount of your contributions. Whats the point of letting the government tax every cent? Makes no sense.
I just graduated from my LPN to RN program, im hoping i can leverage my experience as an LPN which ive been for 2 years although its a different scope of practice. im coming in with some knowledge. great info : )
Congratulations on graduating! Yes! Being an LPN helps so much because you already know how to give medications and how to do patient care. You’ll learn the rest as you go wish you the best ❤️.
I work in H&H NYC. Starting RN was 100750. I got 2600 roughly biweekly. After NYCERS and TDA, you lose like 2-300 each program. With overtime, experienced coworkers informed me to only do MAX 2 days overtime per pay period. Past that, all goes into taxes. Still on orientation but this coversation is common amongst staff.
How did you land a job in NYC H&H? I recently passed my NCLEX RN and been having problems getting into these hospitals. I went on the website and see status “applied/offered” but haven’t heard from anyone. Any tips ?
Wow! As a pca i get paid $30 in nyc. It will be hard for me to get paid $35 starting as a nurse since Ive been working for 7 yrs and now get paid $30 😞 I think this job is just underpaid. After taxes you earn same as someone that didn't really go to school.
I am a new rn making 70 dollars at a job . And then just got hired to make 106,000 at a hospital . What you are describing is Lpn pay which is 35. You get paid a lot for a pca…I know plenty who make 19 an hour
I am a construction flag waving I was getting 35 dollars 💸 an hour 10yrs ago. Now I make 52 an hour just waving the flag.iam in the union but the only difference we got payed weekly. And they lay you off during certain seasons ❄️ but that money was Goodie 2 shoes Salute young lady you making your bread I know you might be tired sometime from over working. But just remember this I always said to myself. I rather be Tired then Broke😀🫡
Hello, thank you for informative video. I have recently cleared my NclexRn exam from NY board. What are the next steps should i follow ? How can i look for a job as an internationally educated nurse? Please make a video on that too
Do you find it that you make more [net pay after taxes] income working 2 jobs [Full/Part time] or doing overtime at single job? I feel overtime at a single job gets heavily taxed and it better working a second job........Thanks in advance.
To hear adults say their overtime all goes to taxes and that’s why they don’t want to work more is so sad. You should know how to maximize and save on taxes. You should understand that we have a tiered tax system. Unless that overtime is putting you into a new tax bracket what are we talking about? And even then only the last bit over a certain amount is taxed at the higher rate and you should be maximizing 401 k.
omg you’re gorgeous! thanks for sharing. question… do you think it’s more profitable to work at two hospitals vs doing overtime at one? like.. maybe one hospital full time and the other per diem? b/c i need all my coins! lol
Thank you ! ❤️ and I really think it depends on your hospital and how much your hospital offers for overtime or being “on call” and if you’re doing PRN through an agency which is going to pay more versus doing PRN as a staff employee for that facility. But I think it would be best to work full-time at one hospital and do PRN or per diem through agency like Aya healthcare for another
Hi thank you so much for this information. I just want to ask do you employer pay your medical insurance or do you pay yourself?also what annual salary were you on when you make 2100 dollars for working 40 hours ? Thank you so much.
Yes if you work full time you’ll receive health insurance and benefits ! And I think that was the 55,000 annual salary it’s was less because it was a state hospital but due to overtime I would take home about 4,000$ biweekly. Thank you for watching ❤️
Hey, im a british nurse with 4 years scrub nurse experience, a Msc in Nursing Science and a qualified Surgical First Assitant. I wanted to know what would my salary vary?
Are you planning on coming to America? If so go to New York California nurses make the most there, or be a travel nurse. Nurses overseas don’t make that much which is unfortunate.
@jasmineartis5754 hey thanks for responding. I wanted to settle in Texas. I was thinking to do my nurse consultant course and then move. Thanks so much 🙏

I’m so happy you found it helpful !! ❤️
Taxes are so discouraging. There’s no point. It’s like you’re working to pay taxes.
Yeah it sucks but living within your means makes it easier to forget about

Can you talk about the school you went to or types of institution that one can have the same result (job).
Do you know why your Gross annual pay was so low compared to the listed salary on the website? I'm curious! 55k is sooo far off from 90k
Yeah I’m having a hard time understand that too.

Hi, Im from the state of PA...and considering of working in NY. Do you recommend in working in NYC or maybe in the suburbs? Thanks.
Don’t tax will kill you.. paying taxes in NY and then Pa is not worth it.. my friend worked in NY and lived in Nj..she only lasted 1.5 years

You are so wrong. They have a pay scale in place related to the number of years you have worked. That might be on the east coast but not on the west.
40% in taxes
6days is a lot is horrible is stressful so if you don’t push a lot of hours you don’t make a lot of money
what about your health insurance
