Thanks for another useful video! After watching this, I'm going to add some weight up front. Probably increase spine too. I've taken #63 deer with a bow less than 45# and 90% of them under 35-40# bows. Arrow placement is the key.
Moving from right to left as you do is the most comfortable to me. It seems like the most natural movement. I'm shooting with injuries of the levator scapula now days. The 35 to 45 pound bow works for me. What a windy, dusty, helaous place you live in. I have big wild feral hogs here in the deep south. I've been teaching them not to attack me using a sling shot. I'm not hunting anything here. I just leave the emergency food on the hoof for now. It's good seeing the things you do.
Wow! Wow! And Wow! Who would think that you could shoot a 561 grain arrow with high FOC 100 mph (average was 99.88 mph) in wind like that with a 35# bow?!!! Man oh man I would like to see another test with only 35lb limbs on a cheaper type bow to rule out that it's speed and power wasn't just because that's a high end type bow. Then if it also shot an arrow that's say 450 grains or so at 100 mph ... I would lable it with a title like: "A Hunting Test That All Elderly and Injured Archers Must See"!!!!
That's some fine shooting, especially in that wind! I was playing around with some 597gr arrows with the Bodnik Slick Stick a couple years back. I was getting around 150 fps, but my draw length is fairly long. I had actually built the arrows for the 45# 70-inch longbow, but they fly fairly well in the 35# also. I did make a video of it also "Light Bow with Heavy Arrows". The heavy arrow really does deliver a nice thump on target. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Shane glad to see you checking this out ... Wait till you see his next video shooting a more common 35# bow rather than the expensive bow he has in this video using a heavy arrow! I can't wait to see it!
I live in kentucky there is no limit on poundage for bow hunting. If you can sharpen a stick and make a bow from a sappling you can legally hunt during its season.
thats so cool I wish we had rules in California like that . check this out in California on bow hunting season if you are bear hunting bear you can not have a pistol with if something goes wrong for backup to save your butt🤠
@@HyperManArchery we have open carry. You can pack a gun in walmart if you want. Im not a gun guy though. You can pack while you bow hunt but... If you shoot one in defense you gotta report it to a warden or they will track you like its a homicide if they find out.
@@nicholasosborne1356 you can't hunt mountain lion can not be hunted or bobcat if a mountain lion attack me or my dog and I shoot it I have to get a attorney to prove my or my pet was in danger

Another interesting video, thanks. So, I have that as a 561gn arrow travelling at 145.6 ft/s which gives you 26.4 ft/lbs of energy at launch. That's certainly enough for a deer and smaller with good shot placement. I'm not sure I'd want to try poking a bear with that personally, but I don't hunt bears so what do I know.
How long have you been shooting traditional? Outstanding accuracy/consistency, impressed. Oh, and while you're no spring chicken, pre 60 is not quite old man status yet (-;

the 40 lb bow underrated it is a adequate sweet spot overlooked

I imagine that such arrow wouldn't be so affected if it hit leaves or twigs or am I wrong?
It might be enough for a bear but definitely not your mom.
