I own a ton of rentals and am shocked at how many people think reading the contract is a novelty. They will often claim they were tricked when they find there is language in the contract they disagree with. As a separate issue, use a top tier firm when purchasing a business, the power of having someone competent in your corner is invaluable.
Never sign a contract until enough trust is built to make sense to sign one. On the other hand have a fixed sum for people to be paid upon completion so no one has reason not to see the contract through.
Having been a Commercial Transactions lawyer will add the following; 1. No Contract, no Business 2. Whenever anyone says Trust Me, read it as Screw You. 3. Consult the right trained lawyer who practises in transaction you are entering. 4. Your fees to a effectient lawyer before signing a contract, is as good as insurance you pay to save disaster cost. 5. Reading a contract isn't same as reading a book. No matter how good you are in literature, legal language is different. 6. Always push your own draft. An agreement drafted by your lawyer is half the battle won.

I will be happy to be considered Rude as all hell and read it to my heart's content, My grandfather is a Retired Attorney and his rules about contracts he taught me as a child about contracts is very simple first and I still use them 1. Never sign something before you read it, 2. if you don't understand it, have it explained to you if it sounds too good to be true it is. 3. go over every contract with a fine tooth comb because the smallest spelling error can lead to disastrous results. 4. If you don't have a lawyer get one in a hurry.
It is mostly impossible to include every possible scenario in a contract. Just understand that often times, contracts are written to be broken by one of the parties.

For Every clause, After getting Drafted. Ask the Lawyer to Read it. We make Rough Notes in clear language. Then decide to Add or modify clauses. Leaving 💯 to Advocate is not Advisable. For Everyone, requirements are Different. In a Contract, there are Two People. It Depends on, who charters/hires the Advocate. Hence, every clause, Point-To-Point, should be Read and make note of.
