    I just returned the K100 RGB it is a very good keyboard. but I had the corsair optical linear switches and they are fast but they are so light I kept messing up gaming because of the sensitive keys. driving a tank in world of tanks for example suddenly you will turn right or left and lose all speed because your first or third finger would relax just slightly and touch the key. you end up gaming and picking up on your hands and fingers the whole time trying to make sure that you don't accidentally touch a key too much. It caused strain for me so I took it back.

  • @Daedalus_UK
    @Daedalus_UK 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you want to get a basic idea why the speed matters then do the following. Open notepad and then hold 12345 with one hand and then with the other try and add other keystrokes. You will find the keyboard if it is basic will start to ignore keystrokes. When gaming and using the WASD direction keys and then combining with SPACE jump, interative commands and equipment in game you will also start to notice times that the keyboard ignores keystrokes.

    Just got my Black widow v4 pro yesterday, absolutely in love with it. Been wanting to upgrade my peripherals to some good Razer stuff for a while, also picked up a Basilisk V3 mouse, got both on sale for a good price. Razer products are veeeeery expensive over here in Australia where I am so getting them on sale was a must. A huge upgrade from the cooler master devastator 3 set I was using lol my black widow has the yellow switches (linear and silent). It is a remarkably nice keyboard to type with and to game with, super comfortable. the keys do make a little noise but not a click noise, it's more of a muffled type sound. I really love the rest pad for your wrists too. No idea how to program the macro keys and stuff yet but Yeah, super happy with my new Razer keyboard and mouse, also got the firefly v2 mouse pad on the way too that will complete the picture nicely hehe

    J 13:37 ust recently ordered the razor Black widow V4 Pro. It has a common issue with keys, repeating or skipping while typing. Razor support is non existent. They also will support you when using a USB hub or KVM, which is a non-starter for me. However, it’s the best feeling keyboard I’ve ever used. Hopefully they fix the software or production issue. Eventually, I return mine to Amazon before the return window expired and ordered both corsair keyboards to try. So far, not a fan of the optical Keys, waiting for the cherry MX to show up.

    i have the K100 with optical switches and love it to death. The only thing i'm a little jealous of, are the extra macro keys on the side of Blackwidow. You can never have enough macro keys! (even though i'll prolly end up buying a stream deck and then it won't matter much)

    • @xwolverinewong
      @xwolverinewong ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You dont have to be jealous of those little extra macro keys. It's obvious that K100 has extra 2 function keys on the topmost of the keyboard, making it 8 in total same as Razer's. In fact, K100 wins by one extra keyboard button (the one near the volume wheel). Always remember, they all can be remapped to anything you like.
      Aesthetically I love the logo and wheel of K100 more than V4's stale design. However one cant deny that v4 has slightly better RGB effect in the edge of the keyboard and the wrist rest. And it got green switch too which is my favourite switch.
      I'm struggling whether to sell my 2 yr old K100 keyboard for razer's and honestly I cant make the decision. It probably isn't worth those extra bucks.

    • @MicahIsBatman2
      @MicahIsBatman2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xwolverinewongI honestly can’t stand Razer’s switches. I previewed them at Best Buy when searching for a new keyboard, and they just felt clunky. The K100 is the keyboard I would stick with, just because technically the Blackwidow v4 is a downgrade due to the switches not being optical. If you don’t care about the switches, or if you have the speed silvers, then I would say go for it, because ascetically, the Blackwidow looks better. I personally think you should get HyperX pudding keycaps or Glorious Aura v2 keycaps for the K100 and just call it a day.

    Why are razer calling this V4 Pro? Pro means wireless in razer-speech (as with BW v3, Naga, etc..) I assume they wont release a wireless version of this, not anytime soon at least? Considering the connectivity issues with BW V3 Pro..

  • @angrybearduk
    @angrybearduk ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Good video but you completely missed the "companion software" part which is an essential part of the entire experience as it actually gives access to all that advanced, expensive functionality. Creating and organising profiles, exporting and importing profiles, creating macros etc. Without these companion apps this super expensive keyboards are just normal keyboards without any extra functionality. And in that regard Corsair is absolutely terrible. Their iCUE is a nightmare - counterintuitive, time consuming and there are also huge stability issues too. (speaking from the perspective of UX designer with over 15 years of experience and a long term K70 and K100 user).

    • @MicahIsBatman2
      @MicahIsBatman2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quick question - are you using iCue v3, v4, or v5? It sounds like a stupid question, but corsair didn’t force update users to v4 from v3, and I’m not sure if they update users to v5 from v4 either, because I think I might still be using v4. I honestly think that Corsair’s software is fairly easy to understand. I’ve also never had issues with it, whereas I have with Synapse (for like the past month, every like week or so I’ve had to reinstall Synapse because it just doesn’t launch. I was only able to fix it today by running it in administrator) Corsair’s software has more customization overall as well. You can import custom profiles from their forum with the click of a button, you can set the lighting on your keyboard to be an image or video file, have it be reactive to audio, or just have your lighting mirror what’s being displayed on screen using murals. I was able to figure everything out really easily, and so was my friend who uses a mac, and also does not own any Corsair product. He made an effect that makes each key light up when you press them, but when you let go it immediately stops. With Razer, I’ve found it difficult to navigate. It took me like, 10 minutes to create an effect I was able to do in seconds in iCue. It doesn’t help that on Synapse, everything is broken up into different modules, and it’s difficult to find everything, like the lighting is on one page, but setting up a lighting profile is on another. iCue just has everything organized by device. You click on the device you want to customize, and you scroll through the sidebar to see what you want to customize. The device is in the center as a preview, and the options for customizing in that category are below the device. The other devices are in a bar at the top, profiles are in the top left, and murals are in a separate category. It’s really simple, and easy to understand.

      Name a single keyboard not by these companies from the past three years that have macro keys and have switches that actuate at one millimeter at the price point you named - oh wait, it doesn’t exist. I did the research. The cheapest keyboard I could find that had even dedicated macro keys and still had decent build quality was the k95 platinum from Corsair. Maybe Logitech has something better, idk, but there are no customs with macro keys that I could find. The only company that had macro keys on their keyboard below $100 was Redragon, but that’s Reddragon. And before you say “macro keys are useless, you don’t need them”, you’d be very wrong. First off, I’m a video editor, and they are very useful for that purpose. In general, macro keys are great for productivity. Honestly, the budget options just aren’t that great. There just aren’t many great full size options, and I refuse to use anything smaller then a 75%, and even 75% is pushing it.

      @@MicahIsBatman2my friend built a nice custom with all the modern trends (q1 pro). 75% no legends special lubed switches all the bullshit. It feels good. However it is a useless device. Whenever he plays flight simulators he has to plug back in a free dell keyboard because his special custom keyboard doesn't have any of the required keys. With all these light weight modern mice most of them don't have a scroll left and right or even a dpi up and down switch. All that moves to the keyboard. Custom keyboards have extremely high build quality but zero additional features compared to a cheap free full size keyboard.
