The records show Mumbai's biggest land owners are Godrej & Boyce, the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Group, A H Wadia Trust, F E Dinshaw Trust, Sir Mohammed Yusuf Khot Trust, Hirjibhai Dinshaw Billimoria , Jeejeebhoy Ardeshir , and the families of V K Lal and Pratapsingh Surji Vallabhdas Khot . Their lands are spread across Kurla , Bhandup , Vikhroli , Deonar , Malad and Goregaonhe five owners that the government had named were the F E Dinshaw Trust (controlled by Nusli Wadia), A H Wadia Trust (whose managing trustee is Muncher Cama of Mumbai Samachar), the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy family, the V K Lal family and the Mohammed Yusuf Khot Trust. But the subsequent SRA report showed that Godrej & Boyce holds the largest parcel of land in the city, with 3,401 acres in its control. Although a large chunk of this land is a well-protected mangrove sprawl in Vikhroli, the slum authority estimates that at least 300 acres near Vikhroli station have been encroached upon. The industrialist Godrej family acquired its land in the eastern suburbs sometime in the early 1940s from the Bombay high court receiver. This land was originally given by the East India Company to Parsi merchant Framjee Banaji in the 1830s and came up for sale in 1941-42. After acquiring this land, the Godrejs started buying adjoining plots by negotiating with 200 plot owners. In the past decade, the Godrej Group has become one of the leading real estate players in Mumbai because of its sprawling land holdings.

The rise of Parsis is because of britishers, Parisi were the biggest servant of britishers.
Britishers took the land from Common Indians and introduced Zamindari system and leased those lands to Parsi families.
Britishers allowed Parsis to do trade , opium business, when India was suffering from mass starvation, famines Parsis used to donate huge amounts of money to British Empire , one of the prominent such Parsi was "Jehangir Readymoney ", his statue still present in Edinburgh, the Britishers gave him a title of " Readymoney " anytime he is ready to give money and serve British Empire.
Parsis are present in India since last 1200 years but they didn't achieved anything in last 900 years only after arrival of britishers Parsis became Rich , they became rich because of divide and rule policies by britishers, They became rich at cost of India's famines and starvation and looted wealth from Common Indians.
It was pure divide and rule politics by britishers, which indian political system and leaders inherited.

Illegal land encroachment is a big problem especially slums in Mumbai. Slums have to be removed so that we can unlock the potential of those occupied lands. ✌🏽🍻
Slums people are the potential because of their workforce......if u remove them where would u get online service most of workforce in cities are slums........cities are cityless without slums......there would no services in ur city......... aren't you trying to crony capitalist and racists at same time?
Bangladeshi and Rohingyas nae encroachments kiyae hai.
Maybe instead of that, we should make cities where people don't need to have illegal housing.
These rich landowners have acres while most live in slums.

People saying all are gurjurath. Bombay till 1950s was a Gujurathi majority city. But it was totally surrounded by Marathi speaking towns and districts. The gujurathi economy helped the city to establish. Now they're minority but their works are still visible

Lodha is not a very substantial land owner in Mumbai, you can label them as a very big Developer but not a very big land owner, How I can tell you this is because I am also a Developer based in Mumbai, for us it's a day to day activity of researching about land ownership across Mumbai.

Ka view hai
I think bandra ya worli
Yeh Western Express Highway ka extension hai, jo Bandra-Worli Sealink ke taraf jata hai. Yeh area Bandra ke paas hai, but mai koi landmark nahi desakta kyuki, yaha bas highway hi hai. Agar accurate chahiye toh Kala Nagar, Bandra(East) se Bandra-Worli Sealink ya Bandra(West) ke taraf jao, aur left me dekho aapko yeh same view dikhega.
Yeh buildings Dadar, Lower Parel aur Worli me hai, aur Bandra se aisi dikhti hai.

Reason no 2 : They have very good relationship with all of the religions except Muslims
Reason no 3 : During British time they have face very less discrimination because of wealth & skin color

Not all some of the earliest established Gujarati business families also own a good amount of land.
But in any case, the Parsis are also Gujaratis, & Mumbai was developed as a trading hub because of this family initially during British era.
