Fan theory: I think cause of this scene is why the cult of Chucky dolls keep coming alive, cause after he’s blown up and his face and DNA are in the vat, there are parts of him in every Good Guy doll ever made, or at least that what I think.

This ending makes more sense than the truncated one. But I guess, when Part 3 was made, it was decided that he would come back in a different way, therefore deleting this ending from the final cut
Part 3 was literally 9 months after 2, they just needed the money, as told.
Done Mancini originally wanted there to be multiple Chuckies but he was unable to due to the budget that’s why they used the blood in the plastic for childsplay 3
@@2SHAY2TOONS This idea would be utilized in greater effect in Cult of Chucky and the currently airing Chucky series, I love that he revisits old ideas and repurposes them.

The factory is by far the best scene. The exterior shots are of a recycling/waste plant in Long Beach California
Even Roger Ebert in his review complimented that set. Tho he didn't like the movie.

ugh! you gringos are always so literal. When she says the phrase to go home, she does so symbolically, she refers to going to a safe place, away from danger, not necessarily "their" home.

As a kid, this is how i first saw child’s play 2 and I recorded off of USA which also used this same ending…I watched that tape so many times, I thought that this was always the way the movie ended.

This ending is more badass. It shows Chucky is just getting warmed up. He is back with a vengeance in Child's play 3. Don't fuck with the Chuck.

It seems while this happened blood dripped into the plastic, the plastic mixed with the blood , the blood and plastic dried , it was black the whole time, and chucky screamed NOoOoOoOoOooOo.
They prob scraped this and just did it in child's play 3
Actually, Don Mancini said that his idea fro Child's Play 3 was actually the one he used for Cult of Chucky, with that vat of vinyl ending up producing multiple Chuckys. He said he had to put that idea aside, because the tech hadn't caught up to the idea, and then budgeting and timing restraints.

How did TNT broadcast the alternate ending?
You know how movies are edited for content when they're broadcast on TV? They're sometimes edited for time as well, either trimming/deleting certain scenes or, in this case, adding additional footage to fill time. This was common back in the 80s and 90s, extended TV cuts exist for many movies.

I wish we had this ending in the 4k version. This is the only movie in the franchise where I feel bad for Chucky at the end, because he suffers a lot, it's always cool to see him have the last laugh at the end.

I get this because when chucky’s head got exploded the eye part went into the skin thing and that’s why chucky came back. But in Child’s Play 3 the way he is back doesn’t make any sense.

Thank goodness I thought I was loosing my mind! Because I remember watching this ending on TNT and I know I watched it because the stage hand crawling on the floor in the lower right hand corner of the shot made me laugh and stuck out in my mind. But I just finished watching Childs Play 2 on Peacock for the first time since the 90’s and this ending wasn’t in the cut!

Not sure how you're referring to this as the "alternate" ending. It's the ONLY ending. If not, then post the other original ending. I remember this all to well, the smirk at the end. They wanted to keep things open for more to come. Never saw any other ending and I don't think they released multiple endings back then. Post DVD era.

They never mentioned her in part 3. They recreated the cast, it was more dark than the 2nd sequel, but the original was darkest of all and will always be king supreme! I'll never forget seeing that lady fall through the window in the commercials as I kid! The 1st & 2nd ones were the best in my opinion. I somewhat recall Bride of Chucky, that was pretty fun. I recall seeing some of seed of Chucky which was very strange and I guess what they would label "woked" out, I recall that being very sad, twisted and strange. Chucky as an abuser mean dad I recall, I don't know if I'm remembering correctly but it made me feel bad in ways I don't think the Chucky story needed to go. As to Kyle, she was already almost of legal age and then the state boots you out! I heard she made a return in these newer ones, maybe they explain her character if they keep her as the same person and story. Andy returned too I heard. I didn't see any of that or the remake. I didn't like the one with the girl in the wheelchair, the daughter of the actor is in it. I didn't bother watching much of that, it was lousy. They couldn't make a decent movie anymore to save their hyde!!! I gave up probably after part 2 pretty much. I think he's been overplayed now, too much of a great thing can be bad. Too many sideshows and off sequels can ruin what started off as a captivating premise that gripped the audience. Child's Play was a well made horror film with a solid story line. Not many horror genre films can claim that.
There's some vague reference to Kyle in Child's Play 3 when Andy sees Chucky again he freaks out and says "We killed you.". He could have been talking about Kyle since she was the only other person present when Chucky's head exploded.

It's a shame we can't get a better version of these deleted scenes. Even Shout Factory had to rely on the same overly compressed sources as the TH-cam rips for their 4K release.
Hopefully one day Universal and/or the network will make the television scenes available. Even if it was only in SD 4:3. Just so we have them in slightly better quality than the compressed TH-cam uploads.
