Not sure there needs to be anything. The very first time he died, he transferred his soul to a doll. It worked then. He had nothing tying himself to it. It's possible it could work so long as you know who you're calling and how you're doing it.

I love this intro because we see how Chucky is "reborn". Its almost like he was never destroyed to begin with. The craftsman makes Chucky "Brand New" again.

Pretty sure all the human parts of the doll went away when chucky died. At the end of childs play 1, you hear the doll turn back to its original form by the voice.
Child’s Play 2 is the best in the franchise for me, this movie did so much right no other sequel in movies could accomplish.

I like Bear take on Robo Chucky theme better. I mean using toys instruments to build a scary atmosphere is fantastic on it own.
I think Renzetti's soundtrack is still the superior Child's Play soundtrack, but Revell's is a closer second

I was intrigued they brought this repair scene back in Bride of Chucky. Here, the Good Guy doll is still at its peak with the company able to save itself from negative publicity. Bride of Chucky came off where he was repaired with a new look hinting that the company was dead after the events of Child's Play 3.
In cult of chucky they say they sell them at hot topic so either the comoany swapped to other toys and brought back the goodguys after they became related with mass murders or sold off the good guy brand to another company. The way they look in cult and show im guessing the company just brought them back as a novelty toy

Is it strange to anyone but me that the torso of the doll has electronics and wiring and everything, however they just stuck on the head and limbs which didn't seem to have any electrical connections at all?
Yes thank you XD I commented that years ago but it still bugs the crap outta me. The head especially being just a ball and socket when it should definitely have wires and a motor to turn the head.
Great opening scene. The third movie may not have the same impact as the previous two, but watching the CEO get his upcoming was great.
i got to hold the screen used doll at a horror convention with alex vincent (andy) & Garrett zima (works with tots making dolls) that they used in this scene & other shots throughout the movie, it was crazy holding something so rare & 30 years old!

One of the best opening scenes. Showing a closeup of Chucky's remains from the first film. Him being rebuilt again. Also one of my favorite sequels. They don't make movies like this anymore. People don't believe in possessions, ghosts, spirits. That's why Andy's being blamed for.

I like how in the opening shot of the doll eye,you can see an actual hole in the false pupil,representing while it is far dormant,Charles' soul still resides within. The iris has reverted back to it's abstract pattering but it still retains depth.

As awesome as this intro is did nobody notice that the dolls head is just a rubber ball and socket attachment? Yet he’s supposed to be animatronic with moving head parts that definitely would have had wires and an actual turning motor in his neck? XD

one funny thing I've never noticed before at 1:59 the new arm they just put on it already has scars on it, is that indicating chucky is about to be reborn, is this what they now call an Easter egg, one of those funny little querks in movies that you miss if you don't look fast enough???
This music is too beautiful and dramatic for a semi-comedy horror movie about a killer doll, but it still somehow works.
It's a combination of sweet and menacing. The darker moments come when Chucky is burned, and the light moments come when he is clean. The shots of him being fixed with a new coat of paint and plastic, is like them showing innocence- which is what the Good Guys dolls are supposed to be, until a monster like Chucky takes control.
Chucky was missing his left eye at the end of CP1.
All they could salvage was the metal skull? What about the burnt torso with a human heart and a bullet lodge in it?
There's no blood, so I guess his soul was still in every bit of his body and he just needed some Dr. Frankenstein electricity to spark him back to life.
Who were the idiots that decided to pick up the head from the crime scene and decide to restore it?

I love how the Play Pals toy company is so cheap, they go through the effort of refurbishing a piece of crime scene evidence that's been burned and mangled beyond recognition when the production cost on a Good Guy is probably less than twenty bucks. Waste not want not! 😆
