I absolutely love this you guys! I've been doing dance for a combined 16 years and its so hard to find fun young people who want to dance. I love that you have beginner video's as well as more advanced ones. Keep up the good work!
It's important to point out in each & every video that there are ONLY two (2) dance styles done on ANY social Dance Club/Lounge anywhere in the World. Spot/Rhythm & Progressive/Traveling. The congestion Problem (s) we all run into these days is that Dance Instructors do not continually reinforce (Over & Over/ Ad Nauseum ),...... All Spot/Rhythm Dance Styles should be done in the CENTER of the Dance Floor,......Progressive/Traveling Dance Styles are done in the two (2) outside lanes of the Dance Floor. Slower Progressive/Traveling Dancers on the inside Lane & the faster moving dances in the Outside FAST Lane. This way, we can ALL perform our dance of choice at the very same time to each particular Music Selection. Thank You!
A small suggestion: the reverb makes it hard to understand what you guys are saying, a mic for each of you would be immensely helpful! You guys have amazing chemistry, looking forward to this channel growing a lot more! Great video!
Glad this stuff is here! I'm about to turn 25 and finally coming out of my shy shell and went to go do dance lessons last night!!! Super stoked enough to look up swing videos. Love the energy!
Wow!! Very Nostalgic to me... I learned your "Country Swing" back in the 1970's while attending college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA. It has a unique 2-count pattern (with no rock step) which is why we called it the 2-count swing, it was also know as the Cal Poly Swing, and was lovingly known as Goat Ropin'.
Hey Shalee and Grant -- would be super cool to see some advanced country swing tutorial vids once you get there. Especially the aerials, and how to train/learn them in steps. Breaking it down to "do this before attempting the whole thing" type stuff, as well as if you need other people to spot you, where to position them strategically. Also, a (bright colored or red) glove on each of your right hands would help a ton to keep track of where hands are going during the videos. :)
That is the only way they can promote their channel, and they did it better then most people they didn't ask you directly. I mean that is a pretty lame reason if you actually wanted to learn
Thank you! I’ve been dancing since I was little, but my boyfriend has never taken a dance lesson in his life so finding beginner stuff like this is awesome:)
I’m taking a dance class and so now I’m all pumped to learn this. It looks certainly easier than the Mambo in ballroom 😂 Thanks for this! It still seems kinda tricky but I know it will get easier when I actually do it with a partner and practice.
You can do it! It's really not as tricky as other dance forms because there are no set steps and no one cares if you're doing it "right" anyway. It's all just fun!
Love this! I love country swing and line dancing but finding a guy to dance with ‘round my parts are near impossible. I guess that’s why all the girls be dancing while the boys be playing on their phone on the sidelines
well most likely I will manage to forget these in a day, but nevertheless it was a very easy video to follow and if I had someone to practice with I'm sure we could have some fun
each of your personalities are fantastic and your love and admiration for each other is beautiful. thanks for the instructions! very helpful compared to the other 2 videos i watched prior
Chasing females got me learnin country dance moves. Should be out scoutin deer trails, ice fishing, and swearing at small engines. But noooo. I'm practicing looking stupid
I’m actually taller than most of my dance partners. For the leader, you just need to exaggerate the arch of the arm for a spin. As a leader, I just make sure to duck slightly and bend my knees a bit more to do a very slight squat.
This is a great answer Maddie! There are always pros and cons to varying heights. Sometimes it is a lot more convenient when you're the same height as your partner though! Just practice and see what works best for the two of you. There are moves we do that aren't as smooth because our height difference is so drastic!
Please focus a little more on the girls part. For the life of me idk how or when to present my hand or understand the guys cues. This is more helpful for guys.
@@KingandQueenofCountrySwing Yessssss! Please. I would appreciate that sooooo much. I love dancing alone but partner dancing isn’t coming me to as naturally. Tips would be amazing.
Good to see young dancers. Your style tends to prompt guys to be too aggressive with actions and if they want to dance for years, a girl’s rotator cuffs can’t take that much stress. So glad you taught to keep the “yank and crank” in check. Also please please teach dancers to respect dance floor space with others. At a bar there is usually very little floor space to do big moves and aerials. If you bump someone, apologize and reduce size of moves. I’ll watch more of your videos and use wireless mics from Rode to help us hear you. Thx.
I love how I look up country swing on TH-cam and one of the first things that comes up is some people at my favorite place they're in Provo wearing blue shirts like when I wear
Hola. Do you have a video where you teach the basic step and the rhytim or couts? As in what step do we use just to dance with out adding dips, spins or lifts?
That's the nice thing about country swing, you can be on rhythm... or not. and no one cares. All that matters is you're having fun! But to learn the basic step, we cover that at the beginning of this video!
I would like you to incorporate each step in with the new step so you can see them flow from one to the other and then at the end all four steps in a dance.
Just went swing dancing for the 2nd time ever on Saturday night and it was a blast!! I actually was at Southworth Hall too! I just moved to Utah a couple months ago so when I found this video yesterday I noticed that you guys were in Provo when I saw the intro and then I realized that it was actually filmed at Southworth!! I had so much fun and I can't wait to go back this weekend! I hope I run into you guys there. Do you go to Southworth often? Thank you so much for the video, I learned so much!!
It would be nice to see all the lessons you just taught in a recap dance as you close out the video. Great video!
Thanks for the suggestion! Next time 😊

you are spot on!

Thanks for the tip! Send us those microphones and we'll get on it ;)
Agreed. They could even get some cheap ones and anything would be better than the reverb in these.
Title: "basic"
The intro: *physically spins a girl around his body*
😂😂

I haven't danced in a while and wanted to refresh before i go out again and couldn't believe it when i saw your dance hall. That's where i learned!
Well, It's where we met! so we love it too. So cool
Ok the fake text to remind you to like the video is actually so clever
Hahaha thank you 😂 We worked hard on that!
I love her attitude, you both are great instructors!

Love that info - thanks for sharing!
Time to convince my boyfriend to learn how to swing dance with me
I read your comment just as I'm sitting here making my boyfriend watch this to try with me.
YESSSSS
Was it a success?
“The basics”
First thing I see is her getting tossed over his head and flipping

This is great advice! Thank you!
Would love to see it all put together at the end with music !! ✨
LOVE this suggestion!
Thank you! I look forward to putting what I learned out onto the floor! 👏🏻🤠🇺🇸
Excellent! We love to hear it!
great video thank you, shalee looks likes shes just in absolute love with shane 😄.
I thought I actually got a text at the beginning of the video😢
Haha you're not the first one!
Don't forget to mention dancing to the beat. Oh yeah, not part of the rodeo swing 👎
We're not sticklers about it - if people want to dance off beat, let them dance off beat! It's all about having fun anyway 😊
Any suggestions for a few slower songs we could dance to with these beginner moves ?
Morgan Wallen - Chasin’ You is a great one.
How tall is this dude or how short is she??
Thank you, i can do a country swing to the country music with my wife
OMG I love their dance I hope I found a boyfriend that my boyfriend knows how to do. Like how he picked up
Stopped watching because I can’t stand you asking us to like and subscribe repeatedly
That is the only way they can promote their channel, and they did it better then most people they didn't ask you directly. I mean that is a pretty lame reason if you actually wanted to learn
I’ve never seen a dance style like this that doesn’t incorporate footwork, especially using a rock-step or some form of “quick” and “slows”.
Thank you! I’ve been dancing since I was little, but my boyfriend has never taken a dance lesson in his life so finding beginner stuff like this is awesome:)
Great videos! Please, what music shall I refer to to apply these moves? Could you suggest some titles please? 🙏🙂
You two are great instructors!
You know that decoration on top of the arch? It looks like Sid the sloth

Straight to the point with the good movies ... love it

Glad it helped! You got this :)
Aren’t there rock steps somewhere in the country swing basic?
Depends on the style! Not in this particular style though. Great question!
Is it possible to practice this beforehand without a partner?
You can try, but it might be a bit difficult!
What city are y’all in? Curious about in-person lessons. You’re super fun to watch! Thanks for the videos!
We're in Utah County!
My husband just saw you in our town. Do you teach private lessons in Utah county?
From what you’ve seen at dance halls is there a lacking amount of men who usually show up to dance?
each of your personalities are fantastic and your love and admiration for each other is beautiful. thanks for the instructions! very helpful compared to the other 2 videos i watched prior
Can you do a video that gives the girls advice and teaches them how to practice without a partner?
Good to have a basics vid like this. Thanks
Thanks so much. This really helped alot I think I can pass my PE final today :)
Happy to help :)
would like to let you know the text notification works
Are you located in San Antonio TX to take lessons
Super helpful 💯
I've never danced before this week, but after learning a few slow dance moves, and now this, it doesn't seem too bad
You totally got it!

Big question for ya guys!
How would you recommend dancing if your partner is the same height as you. I feel like it may cause problems in the spin
I’m actually taller than most of my dance partners. For the leader, you just need to exaggerate the arch of the arm for a spin. As a leader, I just make sure to duck slightly and bend my knees a bit more to do a very slight squat.

Very helpful content. Recommend a different venue to eliminate the echo so your words can be better understood. Thx
as @76jennmarrs said - Do a recap of the whole dance in the last minute - put it all together. :-)
Please focus a little more on the girls part. For the life of me idk how or when to present my hand or understand the guys cues. This is more helpful for guys.
Should we do a "how to follow your partner - tips" video?
@@KingandQueenofCountrySwing Yessssss! Please. I would appreciate that sooooo much. I love dancing alone but partner dancing isn’t coming me to as naturally. Tips would be amazing.
Thanks so much for the videos, I have a date tomorrow and have been practicing. I feel like this will at least catch her eyes!
I wish at the last slow dance the girl would of repeated out loud her steps I got confused

This is cool asf but isn’t this kinda a lot like quebradita? But a different style of it?
