I love swing and I would love to learn but like I don't like being picked up -.- it gives me anxiety and I feel like dudes are gonna try doing a flip with me and Imma flip

brush your dance shoes or sweep the dance floor to get better grip, it's too slippery and therefor looks sloppy. other than that pretty sweet moves.

I have to be honest, I listen to anything that is played by their own hands so of course I stumbled across a song that me and my family listen to and play regularly. My soon to be 8 year old daughter is all about music and singing. My whole time spent with her has been full of slow dances and acting like an idiot pretending I could dance with my left two feet. When she (my soon to be 8 year old daughter) seen this video upon others that have been posted she lost herself in the fact that, first her daddy doesn't know how to dance ( haha), and second that people smile as much as the dancers me and her seen in the videos. True Country will now be a part of my daughter's life because even as I'm typing this, she is asking if I can put on another song of the cute couple dancing to music, thank you so much for the time I look forward to enjoying with my daughter...

No really just the dust on the floor and real boots... gotta make sure your boots have a rubber heel for the breaks and leather sole so you can spin like a top :)

honestly, it doesn't take years and years. i learned a lot of this stuff on my own in the matter of a few months. I just dance 2-3 times a week at a local bar in nc.
I've gotta say -- out of all of your country swing dances on TH-cam, this is my favorite.

Hey Donny Robbins, what is the name of the aerial you do at 1:00? The one that begins like a judo move, and then the girl goes upside down with one leg tucked behind the man's back?
in our swing dance class we call that one a traditional dip.

@jayisjustabranch Yes you can dance country swing with a girl that knows how or doesn't for that matter as long as she know how to follow decently... That's actually what I do when I go out... There are a few girls that I know are really good country swing dancers and I will dance with them... then I will find new girls to teach a few new moves too as well... Hope that helped.

This video brought back memories my mom and I use to do this exact dance when I was younger...Finding a guy to do it now is nearly impossible, no one dances like this in Houston it seems.. >.< thanks for the wonderful smile :)
We live in orange county CA there are tons of great country bars out here to learn... We are at in cahoots every week in Fullerton come out dancing amigo!!

lol Im looking for a girl that will do this with me haha i just made a move to dallas texas and checked out a new place this last weekend and danced with a few girls but none had a clue what they were doing or wanted to do any spins :( i wanna buy these dvds and learn more and more and take lessons and stuff but still searching
You look great together I have had 2 dance partners the first could do all of that but he's not longer dancing so I am trying to teach a friend and he's learning fast but still needs a lot of help. Do you only have 2 DVD's? Does it show the floor spin plus the wrap around? and do you even know what that is?

You should try to get over to Billy Bob's or Neon Moon in the Fort Worth Stockyards at some point, Chad. There are a lot more able-bodied girls to dance with over here than in Dallas.

Looks a lot like Modern Jive..except more circular (like the old style/some European styles)...Modern Jive can be done to any music with 4 beats...
This is the only thing white people MIGHT be able to hold on to, culturally. It's impressive. Especially when ol' boy and sweetheart break it out in the middle of a dusty bar. But, just saying.

my boyfriend and I had to slow the video down multiple times but got some of the ground tricks down. The aerials on the other hand..... lol but the video is really good for beginners to moderate two step line dancers if you want to learn some cool spins and moves.
That’s how it’s done country style it’s straight wild and raw I like to see any nyc or LA night club pull something out like Texas or Tennessee has to offer
If you learn it right, they almost don't have to know... You "lead" them...

A lot of these moves appear too advanced for a beginner like me but whats the move at 0:23 It looks cool and not too hard, like half turns.

Good lord, I'm exhausted just watching! I just do the twirly dancing out on the dance floor with the ladies. Move some hips and repeat lol.. I'm not a dancer so I guess that's why I am rarely on the dance floor to begin with. Wish I could dance because the girls seem to love it for some reason.

It's not dancing. There is no footwork involved. It's a variety of spins and dips in one place. Looks fun as hell though :)

Nice to watch you guys dance. I am just curious about the name of this dance. In the late 1970's we were calling what you do The Hustle. Late in the 1980's we called it Four-Count Hustle. What is the lineage of what you do? Is it derived from two-step? Polka? Many of the tricks are obviously from swing, but the steps look like disco or West Coast.

lol ya'll are awesome! i'm a dancer (swing, ballroom, latin, anything you can imagine) the problem is i'm so tall, finding guys who are around my height that can lift me or do any kinds of ticks is difficult. oh well, story of my life :P still enjoy watching you guys tho!

I had to shop for boots after watching this
So its swing with no triple steps, (so you don't have to be syncopated) no jazz steps, and no lindy hop swing outs. Though they do the pretzel, which most dancers see as just awkward if not painful. The aerials are nice, just the basic step requires little connection. If people are having fun and it gets more people dancing I am for it.

Me and my dad do the pretzel, a flip, and the side to side and middle but I can't figure out how to slide under the legs and pop back up (it's not in this video) but it'd be soo cool if yall could show me! :D
I seriously don't know how her hair didn't drive her insane! I can't do ballet with my hair out and there is a lot less spinning in that dance!
