- I am getting ready to head off to Europe on the wonderful Honda NT1100. I share details of the trip and let you see the changes I have made to the tour set up.
This is the last video for a couple of weeks as I head off to the continent and will see you on my return.

Hello Michael, it was a brilliant tour and there are 20 videos in the Tour Playlist and probably could have done another 20 as have so much video (near 900Gb). Norway is on another level and hope you enjoy them. Alex

@@michaelpaulmurdoch2894 Oh very nice, the NT is brilliant bike and mine has done two European tours with ease and even managed to get 60mpg out of the beast. There is also an NT playlist for my rides on that bike, saves you looking through all my vids to find NT content. Thanks for watching 👍

Hello Ian, glad the videos are of some use. I really enjoyed our chat earlier this week and good luck with the test rides this weekend. Remember, if it DCT use Sport 1 as minimum otherwise you will think the bike does not ride well. Let me know how you get on and what you going to do. Alex

Afternoon Peter, all systems go at this end although still got some stuff to sort out but really looking forward to the trip (although the over night ferry is a bit boring). Video of the trip will certainly be shared.

Great news about your Tour, and I look forward to the content comming along on your return, as I'm sure there will be many spectacular views and intersting sections along the way. The bike looks great and as we know the NT 1100 is made for the job and will cruise all day without missing a beat, allowing you to concentrate on enjoying the journey. Have a good tour Alex and take care on the roads. I have to disagree with you on the best tourer, it can only be a Spyder RTL. Looks like my own tour will not go ahead, an electrical problem means it is at the dealer in Lanchester and don't know just when it will be fixed, it's taking a bit of investigation to find it. If it is fixed by the end of today I can travel down to pick it up tomorrow with enough time to get to Harwich to get on the ferry. If not then it will be cancel everything, luckily most hotels I booked have a free cancel option so will be mostly the ferry cost that I will lose. If I don't make it then I have been looking at the option of Shetland and the Western Isles, both of which I want to visit.
Haha, yeah I can see the attraction of the Spyder. What a bummer, that is a real shame that you having issues. Hopefully the dealer knows you plan on a ferry and get the finger out. Fingers crossed Jim 🤞 Shetland and Western Isles well worth a visit although I won't be on either this year. Good luck with the bike Jim.
@@blearyview2254 Thats the time run out today, didn't hear from them before the ned of the working day so no chance of getting down to the ferry. As I still have no idea of when it will be ready have just been cancelling all of the hotels I could. They knew I needed it for the ferry but iit wasn't high prioriy for them..
@@JimGDMAC That is a bummer Jim and sorry to hear that it not sorted. Poor show from the dealer as well given they knew you need the bike and a costly expense through no fault of your own.
Hi Alex, lovely video and thanks for a look at your bike prep, Im sure youll have a great time, Id be interested to know how your Rider 550 performs when your abroad. Can you tell me if you get the sort of insurance cover that repatriates your bike if your taken ill and cant ride. take care and ride safe.
Hi Paul, what happens to the bike if I can't ride it is not something I had considered and fairly certain it is not covered. It is something I will have to deal with if that comes t pass. The 550 works fine once you understand the impact of each setting but can get it's knickers in a twist like just about every sat nav 🤣🤣🤣
@@blearyview2254 Hi Alex, I was checking in on you and I re-watched your vid, as you do, I heard you mention Android Auto and you said If you need to use it. Well I have just bought a new head unit that works with Android Auto so I'm just getting to grips with it and was wondering how you use yours. My reasoning is I find the Rider 550 a tad to small for my aged eyes.
@@paulegan7250 Morning Paul, I used AA a couple of times on my tour and it worked very well. It actually worked just as the 550 does in that it links to you headset comms and you can hear turn instructions. I set the route on the phone and it appears on the screen when it plugs into bike port. My 550 gave me grief on the tour but this time not with routing but I think it coming to end of life, it kept rebooting, usually at the worst time. If it does give up then I will just use AA on the NT1100 and the phone on the NC750X. Have a look at @kimetogo as he has done a deep dive into setting up AA on the NT1100. New video coming this Friday Paul (not the tour). I am actually working on tour videos as I type, I have a lot of footage haha. Take care and ride safe.
