My amp definitely got ruined. And BMW won’t replace it apparently because I’m on a CPO warranty and not in range of the factory warranty. Now I’m on the hook for this 1700$ part. Baffles me that they won’t cover their own design flaw. They even charged me $13 bucks for the shield that they added despite the amp having water damage.
Oof, sorry to hear that. Yeah pretty crazy that they won’t own up to their own mistakes. Charging you for the plastic part is almost insulting haha. Maybe get yourself a secondhand amp (or upgrade it, while you’re at it)?
The other issue is water dripping down while tinting the windows. Luckily I stripped my interior and moved my amp prior to having the car tinted. There was a puddle in the space right where the amp sits. I added this cover before assembling everything
Jo, for the HiFi system, I checked today (2019 M2C) its a closed amp, so I dont think it makes sense to buy this. on the HK system it obviously does. thank you.
Sorry for the late view, I was busy with school work😭 Such a good video didn't expect this to come, definitely made my night a happy one! As always, it's fun when your girlfriend is in your video's! And to see bloopers would be so much fun in my opinion!
Thanks for this, but honestly, a bit more explanation of how it clips on would have been nice, as it's a weird shape, and unintuitive. But thanks anyway!
Does anyone know if the plugs under the amp should have drain holes…my compartment was 1.5” deep with water & pretty sure AMP is destroyed… the plugs didn’t have any drain holes…unsure how water is supposed to egress if no holes….@thehunterhofman
@@ericjones9367 hmm, I don’t know to be honest. I don’t believe there are any drain holes there (as water is not supposed to enter there in the first place). I think the splash guard protects the amp against the occasional splashing through the vent valve. It won’t help against actually flooding the compartment. Hope that helps buddy!
@@TheHunterHofman thanks! We had a Tropical Storm coming through & I’m thinking a lot of water came through the vent on my drive home (running through some puddles)..I was thinking about leaving one out so if it happened again etc water could drain..now I think about it, I guess some water could get in from the bottom. I may opt to drill a hole in the plug vice leaving it out… thanks again!
Great video! Glad you got the shield installed before anything got to it
Thanks man! Yeah, it’s an easy and cheap safeguard! Can’t afford to have any more stuff broken on my car 😅
We need more gf in your insane videos. Happy Valentines Day! X
Thank you brother 🙏🏻
Bro, good luck on the rebuild! Cheers
Thanks for the comment Flavio, appreciated as always!

Oof, glad you did that; good call. I have read about this issue on the forum too, even more important that M2 owners install this cover too.

@@TheHunterHofman Sounds good, will check now!
I wish I had seen this earlier, just had the amp in my M2C fried. Defo putting this in now 😂
It’s remarkable how many people endures what you endured, truly a flaw of BMW! Good luck with it mate🫶🏻
Good to see new videos ;)
We’re not stopping 😄

Thank you for the comment Tim!
Sick content, again!
Thanks Floris❤️
Dat E30 tho
Sexy af right?
Yeah - my amp fried 9 months after I bought my 17’ M2.
This happened to me and I'm going to just listen the sound of my MPE
If you have the MPE, who needs a radio anyway then😎
@@TheHunterHofman I can’t front, I am still a little sad about it
Do you know if this applies to M235i ?
If it’s optioned with the Harman & Kardon sound systeem, then yes!
@@TheHunterHofman there is a support bracket not shown in your video. I believe it is to protect the amp when storing stuff in the trunk
Are you on the M Performance KW suspension? How much did you lower the car by? Thanks
Correct, I believe it’s 10 mm lower than stock suspension. Hope that helps
