And I bet you got your house for a great price !!! My husband and I just moved to North Carolina (Camp Lejeune actually!) and bought a massive house here and we are from Florida ! The price for the size house and yard we got here would have been unobtainable in Florida . But I LOVE your videos ! Been binge watching for a few days now ❤️
Railroad people also use the crashpad lifestyle as they usually have two bases, like Albuquerque/Amarillo. They ping pong between the two cities, so they have a home at one end and crash at the other.
Agreed indeed. Living in the crash pads is fun if you and the people sharing it with you get along well. The best part of crash pads is it allows you to save and have unique experiences. People with different mindsets come along and you can study the human behavior. While having people from different airlines it can also provide an opportunity to excel in your career to as opportunities are more readily available. Looking for Temporary Duty Housing you can go for Freedom TDY Crashpads, especially if you are from military or the airline crew.
I agree with you. I had a crash pad when I worked for two different Airlines. The first Airline I worked for there was 3 (that included myself) and we did not get along the other two were FAs with other Airlines and the second Airline I worked for there was a total of four which included myself we got along better we were from the same class. We really didn’t need a crash pad with the 2nd Airline I worked for we never sat reserve from day one and the majority of the lines were commutable
I got my first set of furniture on Craigslist. Once the owner knew I was bringing insured movers in, they started throwing in things so low in price I just took everything. It was a coffee table, a couch, dining room set with curio, bedroom set, waterfall fountain, black leather couch, plates, glassware and a huge dresser with mirror in bedroom set! I would have never taken the couch but her place was immaculate and she had a vase of glass flowers on the dining room table which made me realize this was a meticulous person!
My brother and his family live in Wakefield, NC.. I need to visit them soon! I can see how big your home is, you’ll need a lot of furniture! I hope to see a home tour! Oh and I can hear you loud clear, you’re too cute and funny! Have a great week! 😁💖

Show the house before and after furniture. Architecturally, showing the house first will give us a better sense of the space. Aesthetically, the furniture will adjourn it and give us a sense of your style as it relates to the architecture
So happy for you! Where is your husband from? Can you do a husband tag? also how many bedrooms and baths and how much was your house? Only asking because I’m in Hawaii and wanna be envious lol
I lived and worked at a camp/conference center in what was basically a very sketchy crash pad. It did not even have a kitchen. This building was already condemned but they decided to shove all the female staff in it, then a tree fell on it... they still had us live there, with cracked walls and a tilted foundation.
So if you have to stay in a crash pad for a few months, what do you do with all your stuff? Do you just have a tub of personal belongings, or do you put it in storage elsewhere? Also can you get mail sent to the crash pad, or do you have to have it forwarded to a family member, and use that as your actual living adress?
Vrbo is great last minutes we had one for a while I a nice pool house full bed kitchenette your own resttoomsnd shower access to w/dtv fireplace couch desk & chair$100 a night
You will have to apply for a K1 Visa and if approved you have to be married in 90 day's from the day they enter the US. There is a lot of info online now ever since that TLC TV show "90 day fiance" came on TV lol
@@KatNesbitt Yeah I've heard. I won't lie, I'm not sure I'd have the patience or heart to do it lol. I can just about stomach flights in general, but usually get frustrated feeling cramped and around a lot of strangers for extended periods (unfortunately never flown first class or private lol)
That would be very trying for me as an introvert and a little bit ocd and a clean freak!! lol I'm guessing crash pad living isn't for me. haha I sure hope that they split the bathrooms to a separate women's bathroom and men's bathroom!!! ewwww
You’re literally my fave flight attendant. I would literally ran girl if I ran into you on a flight 🥰 ✈️

Florida is getting unaffordable in places, and their property taxes are really high too,
yaimavol We pay higher property taxes because we do not have state income taxes like many other states do.
yeah when i moved to lejeune a few years ago i got a real cheap place! now im in seattle and it hurts my bank pretty bad

Good information and review. Thank you. Interesting look at Flight Attendant life.

It sounds like a great deal!

I really hope I get Charlotte for my base if i pass my face to face....that or Miami. I know Dallas is a more senior base
Congratulations on your home. You should compile a bunch of crash pad stories and do a video reading them.
I can barely hear you over that music.
I'm sorry, it's completely my fault. This was one of the first videos I ever made so I was still learning how to edit.
Hopefully my more recent videos are better about that.
Kat Nesbitt
Thanks, girl!!! I have to do my video interview tomorrow and your videos have been very helpful.
@@paisleigh9467 Yay! I'm glad! Let me know if you have any questions!!
never understood having background music, at any volume, when trying to listen to someone talk
Happy 1 year anniversary of this video. 🎉🎊
crash pads sound a lot like private and smaller hostels. hm
What happens if there are too many flight attendants that need the crash pad at the same time?
Interesting, I've never heard of crashpads.

How long did you do regional before going to mainline?

I know every airline is different, but if you could guess how often do you think the opportunity to transfer bases comes up? Just in your experience.

Was there an honor system with cold beds ? Were you completely comfortable no one else used it while you were away ?
Great video
O my am worried for my son.. he’s gonna be going on training next month for a major airline
He's going to do great! They take really good care of you there!

I forgot you can rent for months at a time
Could you make a video about the journey with getting your husband to the states I would love to learn more before I do the same thing

Wow, literally had no clue about crashpads before. I often wonder what it's like being a flight attendant, a very tough job
It's definitely a very rewarding job!

Do you have to pay for your own hotels during layovers??
Great question and no we do not the company provides them!
And they stay at nice hotels usually..used to work at a Marriott and drove pilots and attendants back and forth from airport...
Can Ramp Agents use crashpads too?
It sounds like dorm life!

Haha it was very trying for me too, I don't think I could do it again. Definitely finding roommates is the way to go.
Can you please do work out videos?
The music is WAY TOO LOUD to hear you speaking.
Unfortunately Kat, I really wanted to hear this video, but all I see is your mouth moving. Can you speak louder without music?
Who pays for the crash pads
Hell if I was paying $500 a month for a crash pad, I may as well just rent an, apartment, if I'm going to be there more than 40% of the time.
yeah I can't understand this tbh.
