I did how ever have an issue running giants editor for several months until both Giants and AMD did multiple updates. I have a 3080ti and i just got a 4k monitor. Even overclocking I had some issues with FS22 on 4k, and only FS22, other games run fine. I lowered the settings to 1440 with 150 resolution scaling and everything maxed and it runs good and looks amazing. I also noticed that FS22 for some reason runs better on an AMD cpu than Intel cpu.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      May be AMD's trend on having more cpu cache. Its one reason the 5800x3d CPU topped many game performance tests when it released.

    You can squeeze a bit more out of your card... I have a 3070TI and run in the same resolution and pretty much the same settings but I turn "render resolution" to 200% It really improves the graphics even further especially the foliage and grass. I have DLSS on and get a solid 60 FPS looks better with DLSS on and the higher render resolution than off and the lower resolution.

    • @FarmerKlein

      Maybe but I am also encoding on the card so having some headroom for things like that is good. • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First thign would be to remove all your mods and load the game up bare stock with a base map and see if you have the same issues. Then if you do not move in the mods and look at the game log to see what might have errors. I suspect you have mod conflicts. The only way to resolve those is to take mods out until you no longer have the issue then slowly add things back till the issues come back.

    If you’re running a Nvidia Card just load up Geforce Experience and optimize Farm sim under games.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have had GeForce experience totally mess up my gaming experience also. Never again. Plus it does not factor in other things like as a creator I am encoding video at the same time I am playing/streaming. So while I could very likely run at 90 or 120 fps limit I keep it at 60 for the sake of having overhead to do the creation aspects.

    Not having state of the art equiptment as your self. Would you suggest, starting at your's and then dial them down for a 1080 for example.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed. There are many factors around how systems perform with the game your graphics card is just one of them, your game resolution is another big factor and then the overall game settings. YOu can start with the settings I showed and adjust as needed for your card and resolution combo or start at the High default and see how things work. Jump up to Very High and see how things look and work and then if you feel there is still room to move up you can jump into and start working the settings up

    I managed to find a fix. It looks like its a corruption or bug that happen when loading a map for the first time. I went in my... Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\shader_cache and deleted the files in this folder. I reloaded a save the game was itching a bit at first then all was fine.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Excellent. That was exactly what I was refering to when I mentioned dumping the shader_cache. In 5 years of playing FS I think I may have had to do it 2 or 3 times so I dont remember the exact procedure with out looking at the file structure.

    What is a pretty good and "normal" rate off FFS rate while playing? Also wondering if you have any plans to make a new upgraded video like this in the future? A lot of changes has happened through 1 year in game as well as in terms of graphics card. Would also like some in depth understanding of what the settings mean and work. Would also like to see how the different settings look in action as well as your opinions while testing it out. I'm running through HDMI on my TV. Wonder if it is my TV that needs to be upgraded to keep up, it's only 60hz. Thank you for the video

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The game will default to 60FPS. If your card can run the maps you want to play at 60FPS then thats all you really need. If using the settings I outline causes less than 60FPS performance then I would suggest dialing some of them back until your at that level. At this time I have no intenions of updating video for a few reasons. One if its not broke dont break it. The settings are fine for me. Sure its over a year later but the game has not changed in any significant way to make it more complex to run for me so why change. DLSS, FSR and Intel XESS are all upscaling technologies that should only be employed if your system can not run the game at a steady 60fps at your preferred graphics settings. All of these technologies work under the principle that the GPU can render the game at a resolution lower than what your display is set at and then each frame is upscaled to your displays resolution. I have no reason to enable any of them because my card can run the game just fine at 60fps with the settings I have outlined in the video. Turning any one of them on would do nothing as the game would still run at 60fps its just there can be a loss in visual quality as a result of the upscaling. I do not have access to several lower end cards nor a way to capture gameplay with out going thru the graphics card so I have no way to demonstrate the various options.

    How you haven't had any of the flashing nonsense is beyond me. I heard DLSS/DLAA causes it. I've heard certain shader settings within invida control panel cause it. And I've heard you need to delete the shader cache folder from time to time and let it rebuild. I also get a screen flicker around in game december around 17:00 in game time. Which is why ive disabled snow.

    I didn't quite understand, but do you run with both a nividia card and a amd graphic card at the same time? I had a rtx 3060 TI ruff graphic card, so that should be pretty similar to what you use here with your 3080 card right? I recently upgraded to a rtx 4079 Amp airo. Try to run it at the settings just below 3850. But I feel behave worse than my 3060 card. So hop I learn something today. As well as about DDLS options and what that is all about

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The computer will use one GPU if there are multiple installed. For a desktop there would be a setting to define which GPU is primary and for laptops it is usually going to default to the discrete GPU but there can be specific ports that are wired to that discrete GPU directly where other ports have access to the discrete GPU but only via a MUX switch or in case of no MUX switch via the intergrated GPU as an intermediary. Unless your doing video capture or video encoding having two GPU's in a desktop is a bit overkill at this point unless you are splitting up workloads as I defined above one GPU for game and one GPU for encoding. A 60 series card is going to be a lower performer than an 80 series card. I am not up to speed on how a 4060 compares to a 3080 but I would venture that it would still be lower in overall performance. Usually with generation uplifts the next gen 1 lower down card would outperform or come close to the performance of the previoius gen 1 level up card. So the 4070 on par with th 3080 for example. It gets even more complex if you compare a desktop GPU and a laptop GPU. The laptop GPU of the same name will always perform lower than the desktop GPU because of the intrinsic power limits that laptops are under vs desktops. So a desktop 3060 will outperform a laptop 3060.

    If you have tree glitches or flashing in game then you have your resolution set too high. I have a 1080TI and for most of FS19 and even early on in FS22 had all my settings set very high while playing at 3840x2160 with little to no flashing and FPS drops. After the Platinum DLC Silver Run Forrest especially during the fall months the flashing started and it became almost unplayable. I checked out a few blogs and a couple TH-cam videos to see if others were struggling and spent hours testing and changing graphic settings to rid that mess. I found no matter what I had the graphic quality setting set at if I played on any resolution setting higher than 2560x1440 then the flashing would return. Also some of the foliage shadows can cause flashing on lower end machines, so even if you are already playing at 2560x1440 or lower start turning down or even off some of shadow settings. Lastly there are couple of people who have gone into their Nvidia graphic setting and turned off Nvidia cache to also rid those flickers. Sorry for long post hope it helps.

      With the game closed go to Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\shader_cache and delete the files in the folder. This is your shader cache and it can sometimes become corrupt then launch the game. Note you will get studders for a little while. run around the map or drive around the roads a bit and the studders will settle down till they are gone as a result of the shader cache being rebuilt. This can happen if you land into a new map with shaders different than what you have cached as the game adds those in.
