I do think this is one of the most beautiful demonstrations of what a light soprano voice can do to amaze us listeners. She just sings with utmost purity, attention to the text, even coloratura and near perfect musicality. The world isn't a fair world, we can't but conclude that when we get to know Parcells isn't more reknown all around the world. I didn't know her or have heard her, but her singing in her best recordings is absolutely great.
@wattever333 this is elizabeth's own score. and the schwas are correct according to german pronunciation (i'm german). but while singing maybe it is better to sing it more "wide and open".
I am a John Elliot Gardiner and Emma Kirkby enthusiast on that magnificent Bach Cantata, but I have to agree this is superb, even with that "baroqueless" tempo.
This Emma Kirby version is very good. However, I submit that the rendition by Teresa Stich-Randall/Maurice Andre with Karl Ristenpart conducting the Chamber Orchestra of the Saar is even better! Check it out if you can (Nonesuch Records).
I WONDER WHY this Famous Michael Jackson, throw with his silver has left and has right cannot write a small check there to this Elizabeth who is OBVIOUSLY ONE incontestable genius ' VOCAL ART? what what it can develop it? Answer SVP me!!!!

Excellent !!!
I love Parcells! From videos I've seen, she seemed like such a sweet person! May she rest in peace. :')
It's great! thank you for this pleasure to listen to this
Thank you for posting Ms. Parcell's markings - I love this interpretation! Completely different from the Kirkby-Gardiner version, very refreshing.
Outstanding and educational!
Ich hab' alles genoßen!! Vielen dank.

No one has sung this better than Emma Kirkby! I urge you to go and get her recording of this sacred cantata!
awesome!

@wattever333 I'm pretty sure this is Elizabeth Parcells' actual score because I think this channel belongs to one of her family members.
