Whenever I listen to her performance, and I did already so many times, I am left speechless. Unfortunately people with a gift like hers cannot stay with us for long.
I'm in love. Can't detach myself from her performance. I've listened to many other versions from renowned singers, despite being close for certain, none has the soul and clarity that is embeded there.
Very good! Elisabeth Parcells is my dearest Mozart-singer (I hope this is properly English). She sings nearly perfect at the time 6:32 - 6:38; a very difficult part.
I'd love her technique, and I feel that Ms. Parcells (God rest her soul) demonstrates for us the technique of the old Bel Canto singers that were prevalent in the early 20th century, e.g. galli-Curci. The main problem that I have witht eh opera singers of our current generation is that their vowels are a bit mushy. sometimes, they'll substitute an "uh" for an "eh". Besides, the older schooled singers such as Parcells seem to have more flexibility and artistic imagination. imo
Yes! To truly appreciate Mozart, you need to open your heart and soul to him. Then his music will begin to open up and touch the most sensitive corners of the heart and soul. The person after that will never be the same. In the heart of a person who truly loves Mozart's music, there is no hatred, envy and anger, there is only love and harmony. In Mozart's music, all the feelings, emotions, characters of people that will always be characteristic of them, they are timeless. People have always loved, suffered, rejoiced and grieved, loved life and feared death, and all this the great Mozart put into his compositions!
Beautifully sung. Indeed a marvellous voice. But you should hear the new release of Lenneke Ruiten with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra. A new star in the making.
I WONDER WHY this Famous Michael Jackson, throw with his silver has left and has right cannot write a small check there to this Elizabeth who is OBVIOUSLY ONE incontestable genius ' VOCAL ART? what what it can develop it? Answer SVP me!!!!
beautifulMozart voice - pristine, refreshing. Very easy high range. However, the high E natural has too much "whistle" in it---sounded separated from the rest of the voice. The head voice has to mix with it so as to give it the needed blending. The high D's were more succesful at this. Overall, a beautiful sparkling performance. Brava!
Very late reply, but I agree. The rest of her performance was beautiful, but those Es hit a bit of a sour note for me. That large leap up to the high D, though, was spot on!
I am not too fond of the quality of the voice itself, which I find too brittle and poor in overtones. However she knows how to use it, and masters this very difficult aria pretty well.

+Tiny Springs I agree with you!
Margaret Price ,Lucia Popp sont aussi resplendissantes

Absolutely gorgeous, sweet, version of this area.
Thanks so much for uploading Elizabeth Parcell's music. What a voice and musicality, artistry. Definitely one of major the voices of the 20th century.
I can't really listen to anyone else sing this because she does it nearly perfectly in every way :)
Absolutely beautiful! (Her sound reminds me of Sills...)
Wow. Such good rendition! So clear!
OMG this is perfect!

SUPERB
Stunning interpretation
Singing of the highest order here.
Pure gold! All the others on TH-cam sound strained at the top but not this lady.

Mozart is underrated.

I tend to agree, and am partial to Sumi Jo's rendition also (although not a little for personal reasons). But this one is definitely superb as well.
Прекрасно!!!
Can someone tell me who the wonderful conductor is, please? Thanks

Only Margaret Price does a comparable rendition of this beautiful aria....rich, full and transcendent.
