I picked up the 4 used for a great deal and I'm so glad I did. The 5 speaker is brutal and the 4 has neural core which I think helps with camera.

4a is good for the useless things. Nobody takes a picture and starts to zoom in like that . 4a doesn't have super wide angle lens , portret pictures are not good compared to 5 and 4xl. And HDR doesn't kick in when you're taking a video.

For zoom comparison, I think it is nice to see the comparison at zoom 3x or maybe 4x as well. At zoom 2x, pixel phones can do a very good digital zoom even via the wide camera. But at zoom 3x or 4x, the telephoto of p4xl should be more useful.
I did 2x and 7x, and yes 4xl telephoto helps

Hey there! I would like to point out that in mkbhd's latest video where he shows the results of the blind camera test, the comparison between 4a and the note 20 ultra is ridiculous! At first look, you'll prefer the note's picture but if you look closely, you'll notice how the note 20 ultra over-exposes the buildings behind him making them invisible. But the pixel 4a pic showed all the details around him.
Just because the human subject looked more appealing, people voted for it.
You'll observe these at 2:47 of that video.

Hi Emad! I really need your advice. I want to buy a pixel device but I keep going back and forth between 4XL and 5.
The budget is not in question here. I do prefer bigger devices but it's not mandatory let's say.
Could you give am an advise?
Pixel 5 advantages over Pixel 4 XL: higher display brightness, better build (metal), bigger RAM, better aesthetics (no bezels), reverse wireless charging, better battery, better performance in loading apps despite lower end processor, ultra-wide camera, better video 4k60 and more video stabilization modes
Pixel 4 XL advantages: Bigger display, higher display resolution, Face ID & motion sense (but consider the Pandemic and wearing face masks), Telephoto lens, better sound quality.
Definitely the list of advantages are more in the Pixel 5, but keep in mind the sound quality of the 5 is not good in playing music and that's it so, if you are okay with that get the 5

It could be an optimization because the 4a released earlier or it could be intentional to decrease noise in photos. But anu how you will not be disappointed because usually you won't zoom in that much to spot the difference

Great video as always. Not the best camera app update, unfortunately. I think Google really messed up lately with performance and reliability of it's camera app. Which is frustrating and disappointing. Especially it being probably among the top 3 most important phone apps to have.
Camera on Pixel5 seems to be rather laggy and slow. For me anyways. Night-sight is especially slow. Camera app sometimes being completely none responsive, and unable to take photos via the shutter button. Not sure if it's app bug related, or hardware performance issues. Or having a lack of the Pixel neural core. Really unacceptable for a premium brand-new phone. Not sure if it's a Android 11 (November patch) or app related issue. What's your day to day camera experience been like.
I didn't face any functionality issues since I got the phone, I only see the Pixel 5 camera is optimized differently than other models. I think Google is leaning towards what other manufacturers do by using punchier colors and softening the images to make photos more social media friendly lile what Samsung and others do
@@IDTR to be clear, yes the camera still works. But it's genuinely slow and not always consistent. I guess my expectations were to high for Google. As they always seem to be. Especially coming from my old P2XL. Lol
Then again, Pixel's use to have the best cameras. Especially the P2 and P3 phones. Not sure if I can still say that anymore. 🙄
Two questions
1. In future there is any chance to improve potrait mode edges detection in pixel 4a?
2. There is any chance to get active and locked stabilization in pixel 4a?
I don't think active and locked will come to any other Pixel because it uses the ultra-wide to stabilize the video. For the edge detection, I assume the 4a is the worst because it has the lowest processing power

I keep my Pixel 4 XL. I don't think there is a reason to switch to 5, on the contrary, I think you lose things like the sound or the 3k screen. Maybe the battery is the only big improvement, and for that alone it is not worth the change.

Its a shame that google dont upgrade the pixel 4 / 4XL better like with video the chipset can support 4k/60fps way better , i did like the cinematic better on the 4XL overall pics too (progress on photos is faster on the 4/4xl too) , for people who like music out of there speakers and phonecall quality the 4 / 4XL do way better.
Yes I agree, but for the active and the locked modes that phone uses the ultra-wide lens not the main camera and that's why they are not on the 4 and 4 XL

@@AppleReviews The differences are not minimal enough for that to be the only reason for the different results, besides, they're mostly consistent between each individual phone.
But it is something that could change the result, and should be taken into consideration.

4:40 Pixel 5 has better Blur detection of corners, watch the difference of the curves on the rounded top of the pillars, Pixel 4XL looks like it did not see the tip of the curve and blurs it a lot. So It is NOT a Draw.

It's a kind of balancing the two you will never get a perfect shot in both from a very small sensor like this, so, some people like more details and others want a cleaner image it's a matter of taste

It depends how much you are involved with Apple ecosystem. For me Pixel phones are the best because of the smart features they make life a lot easier

It's a smartphone sensor you can't expect much especially on a small phone. It's physics
To reduce noise, you may use nightsight even at daylight. It works like hdr+ enhanced I think
