Finally some good news. Karl, you save me so much time. And you directly refer to the genuine documents, making your summaries authentic and unquestionably accurate. Please keep it up. Your channel should (and in time it definitely would) get much more attention than it currently is getting.
I'm speaking up on behalf a very stressed person finishing their PhD and turning 35. Who would be the best person or department we should be writing to voice our concerns about this strategy? From my perspective as Australian citizen, it would be madness to allow highly educated students to fall through the cracks. While I would hope common sense would prevail, the language used in the strategy seems to really focus on what they want to do with people obtaining vocational skills, and very little detail to assure those that are going through higher levels of education.

Yes Karl, it would be awesome! I seen you more focused on onshore problem but not offshore!
That mobility guaranteed pathways is a no no to sponsorship. On one hand you want them to take responsibility in the sponsorship and when the visa is issued you are telling the sponsored that they are free to leave for another job anytime. That is very unfair to those who sponsored. I think we must leave the the business community free from bureaucratic requirements. Best solution is to come in between which is that Employers must be accredited and they can issue letters of support/recommendation confirming that their employee meets the requirement of a skilled worker for a residency pathway. I know of many listed companies who gave up sponsoring mainly because of the mobility issues. Sponsorship sounds good but in reality it just doesn't work. If it works visa 482 is all we need for skilled workers.
I think that will be only be in case when employer exploit the employee. And then employee can complain and if its valid I think home affairs should ban that company to sponsor anyone.
Good plan indeed but I think it's also best they reduce the pathway to permanent residency eligibility of 491 from 3 years to 2 years as well.

Does this skills in demand visa requires employee nomination? What if you are employed in Australia? It will give more mobility to us if we don't require company sponsorship and as long as we are employed in Australia with relevant skills then we qualify.
Also does this new pathway require skills assessment?
In New zealand as long you are working on a green list role and earning at least nzd per hour then you qualify for straight ti residency visa.
This is what I’m trying to figure out.
Which pathway is equivalent in Regional or Non Regional Skilled Work visa to current 190 and 491 visa sub classes. Or does this mean, after 2024, there is no way to migrate to Australia without a employer sponsorship? What about those who earned qualifications (such as IELTS/PTE score, NAATI CCL etc.) according to current migration requirements and looking for a state nomination and perhaps already have spent money on migration agents?

Hi Carl, I am currently applying for the TSS visa for 4 yrs (as my occupation is an Actuary so I am eligible for up to 4 yrs of TSS visa). From your video, it seems that the skill in demand visa will be introduced at the end of this year (and is considered to be more favorable for both employers and employees’ perspective). My question will be is there any chance for DoHA to merge the existing TSS visa to new skill in demand visa at the end of this year?

Hi it's depending on what is your occupation and how many points you have. My wife lagged her EOI for 491 December 2022, with 85 points as a Electronic Engineer but not invited.

I have a question for you. I am currently on a 482 medium term visa. Due to certain circumstances before , i only applied for 2 years visa. The visa will expire around 10 dec 2024 next year. Since the new rule came out stating that an applicant can apply for 186 trt after 2 years working for that employer.
So my question to you is can i apply for 186 trt stream on 10 dec 2024 (i.e thats when my current 482 medium term visa for 2 years expires ) or do i have to apply 482 visa again and then apply for 186? Your response would be appreciated.
