  • Can very large compressive 22+ milliliter volume complex cyst which is mainly cystic be managed via minimally invasive procedure such as the Thyroid RFA or does the patient need to proceed to surgery and lose the entire lobe. This is one of many successful stories in which a patient was complaining of severe compress of symptoms who was told to undergo surgery who chose to undergo thyroid radio frequency ablation in our office. In summary Thyroid radio frequency ablation if done with the correct technique can be extremely effective in the management Of cystic thyroid nodules. This procedure is a dual procedure in which requires not only aspiration of the cystic content but subsequent and simultaneously using the radio frequency probe to oblate the sister capsule to avoid the expansion while preserving the normal thyroid tissue surrounding structures.
