    What if the nodule is reduced by 50% by RFA and 2 years later it grew back bigger than before?

    I was one of the unlucky one percent that my voice was affected. I'm currently seven weeks out, with still a hoarse voice. I've been told it will return in three months.
    I had RFA done for two toxic nodules. Only one was done via first procedure. Labs and ultrasound coming this month yet.
    I have not heard if insurance will cover anything as of yet. I had to prepay.
    Just sharing my experience so far.

      How are your nodules now after RFA, shrank a lot? And Your voice?

    • @brendawiegand7825
      @brendawiegand7825 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one they focused on shrank enough to keep me from being hyperthyroid. My voice has good and bad days, but the cord never repaired itself.
      Per my first comment, insurance never paid after three appeals.

    I’m surprised so many doctors know so little of the parathyroid.

    At my last check a couple of years ago, I have two thyroid nodules, one of which is causing a lot of problems for me (trouble swallowing, feeling like something is stuck in my throat, some voice hoarseness). The doctor refused to do an FNA because the nodule is "too close to my common carotid artery". My question is, would I be considered a candidate for this procedure?

    Is there any possibility that it will happen again after RFA?

    • @danielchrist4560

      @Ravi Kansagra hello! Thanks for asking. Im doing fine. The nodule has reduced for 60%. Every 3 months a checkup and untill now it stays "small".

    • @danielchrist4560
      @danielchrist4560 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ravi Kansagra i have had no side effects other than a soar throat for a couple of days. The procedure was not a big deal for me. I can imagine that every "case" is different and I can only say something about my experencies with RFA.
