    My grandfather was born in Goa during the occupation. My father was not born in Goa, but grew up there. We have ancestral house and relatives in Goa today. I have a U.S. citizenship and OCI card and I am interested in obtaining a Portuguese passport. What is the process for that?

    But now its brexit in uk so no new comers on Portuguese passport are not allowed to come in uk

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No but there are options like Europe, or if you are between 18-35 in that case an open work permit for Canada is also an option.

      The money value is quite low compared to pounds in other countries

      @JAS0624 in ireland you get more pay than uk like eg in uk amazon they pay 13 pounds ... whereas in ireland they pay 16 euros if you convert in indian rupees ireland is good . And many goans have moved to ireland . So some after 5 years some people decided to take irish passport than can move and work freely in uk .

    What if I don't have any old Portuguese documents?

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you don't have any old Portuguese documents, unfortunately, we won't be able to proceed, as they are required as backup. In addition to the primary registrant's Birth Teor, we'll need two old Portuguese documents. These are essential for moving forward.

    Why are there no clear instructions from portugues embassy for people to follow. I went to the Portugues embassy office in London and the people working there were not very helpful.

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sorry to hear about your challenging experience at the Portuguese embassy in London. It can be frustrating when the instructions are not clear and the staff isn't as helpful as expected. It's important to remember that sometimes embassies can be overwhelmed with requests and might not always provide the best guidance as a result. However, I would be happy t answers any queries you may have. If you have specific questions or need further information, feel free to ask! Cheers!

    Is the residing in Goa during 1974/75 period clause required? If Goa was liberatedd in 1961 whats the significance of 1974-75?

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The clause pertaining to residency in Goa during the 1974/75 period is intended to confirm whether individuals were residing in territories that gained independence during that timeframe. While Goa was indeed liberated in 1961, the significance of 1974-75 relates to the broader context of decolonization efforts in Africa during that period. Portugal aims to ensure that individuals under consideration were not residing in newly independent African countries during this time. If you have any further questions or need clarification, please feel free to book a 1 to 1 consult. Link the description below. Cheers

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically, if your mother has successfully registered and obtained her documents in Portugal, you may be eligible to apply for a Portuguese passport as her descendant. To proceed, you would need to gather all essential documents which usually include your birth certificate, proof of your mother's Portuguese citizenship, and any other relevant legal documents. It’s advisable to ensure all documents are correctly translated and legalized as per the requirements of the Portuguese authorities.

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm glad you found the video helpful! Regarding your situation, it's essential to have all the necessary documents in order for a smooth application process for Portuguese nationality.
      If your dad's birth certificate is damaged and incomplete, it is crucial to apply for a birth reconstruction. While the transit pass is a valuable document, it might not be sufficient on its own and is usually used as a supporting document. To strengthen your application, gather any other relevant documents that can provide additional proof.
      your dad's Portuguese nationality, such as:
      1)His Portuguese ID card (Bilhete de Identidade) or an old Portuguese passport.
      2)Marriage or birth certificates of his parents.
      3)Any other official documents from Portuguese authorities.
      Proceeding with incomplete information can indeed be risky and may delay your application. It's best to rectify any missing or damaged documents before submission to avoid any complications.
      I would also recommend scheduling a one-on-one free
      consultation with me to discuss your options. Please click on the link below to

    My father was a minor and his name was on his father's travel document. As per the rule, if the child is a minor then Portugal takes the nationality of the father. Hello!
      It's great to hear that you're looking to obtain Portuguese citizen cards for your daughter and son. I'd be happy to guide you through the process. To apply for a Portuguese citizen card, you will generally need two recent photographs, your passport, Photocopy of “Assento de Nascimento”, and Photocopy of “Assento de Casamento” (if marriage registered in Portugal).
      Once you have gathered all the required documents, you can submit them at the nearest Portuguese consulate or citizen card service center. The process may vary slightly depending on your location, so it's a good idea to verify the exact procedure with the consulate.
      I hope this information helps you get started with the application process for your children's citizen cards. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out!
      Best wishes on your application!

    I am from Goa but my son was born in gujrat Vadodara now we're in goa he studied in goa and got married also we cannot apply for birth registration in Portugal

    • @ticglobal
      @ticglobal  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for reaching out. Based on your information, I understand that you are from Goa and your son was born in Vadodara, Gujarat. He has subsequently studied and got married in Goa. Your concern pertains to applying for birth registration in Portugal.
      The process of obtaining Portuguese citizenship for Goans is rooted in the historical connection between Goa and Portugal. Until 1961, Goa was a Portuguese colony, and those born there during this time were considered Portuguese citizens. This privilege was also extended to their descendants up to the third generation, given certain conditions.
      Here are a few clarifications:
      1. Birth Location: Your son's birth in Vadodara, Gujarat, should not automatically disqualify him from applying for Portuguese citizenship. The key factor is your own birth right or eligibility, which can be passed on to descendants.
      2. Life Events in Goa: Your son's education and marriage in Goa don't directly impact the eligibility for birth registration in Portugal. The crucial factors are your or your parents' birth and connection to Portuguese-era Goa.
      3. Documentation: If you or your parents were born in Goa before December 19, 1961, you might possess documents like the 'Assento de Nascimento' or 'Assento de Casamento' from the Portuguese Civil Registry of Goa. These documents, along with other necessary paperwork, would be critical in supporting your son's application.
      4. Procedure: You may get in touch with us. We can provide tailored advice on the exact steps, documents needed, and potential hurdles in the process.
      5. Other Considerations: There have been cases where the Portuguese authorities tightened rules and vetted applications more closely due to concerns of fraud. As such, ensuring that all submitted documents are genuine and verifiable is crucial.
      If you are certain about your own eligibility based on your birth or lineage, then the birthplace of your son (in this case, Vadodara) shouldn't be a significant impediment. However, every case is unique, and the interpretation of laws and rules can change. Therefore, seeking expert legal counsel in this area is highly advisable.
      Should you have any more queries or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
      Warm regards, Jason

    • @ticglobal

      It depends if the marriage certificate points to the actual date of marriage (1992) or the registration date in 2017. If 2017 then you may need to amend the marriage date. @@srrmfrn5192 Thank you for reaching out! To begin the process, your first step will be to register your birth, which typically takes about 12 to 16 months. Once this is completed, you'll be able to apply for your citizen card, and subsequently, for your passport. While it may seem like a lengthy process, each step is essential to ensure everything is in order for your passport application.
