  • Eagle Claw Kung Fu is an effective style of kung fu. We use clawing techniques to control an opponent to strike, lock, break or sweep them off balance. In this video we teach the two power clawing techniques of eagle claw kung fu - hanging and circle claw actions. Follow our step by step instructions on how to form the claw, develop power in the claw and practice the clawing exercises. Eagle Claw Kung Fu was designed for military combat, fighting, street self-defense, and law enforcement. Learn more about us at our website EagleClawLA.com

    I used to train in ying jow under master Joel Rodriguez in Atlanta. This art was not a walk in the park, but was a lot of fun to practice. It's a very extensive and solid system.... acrobatic, cardio improving techniques, and I found by experience, very effective in real world situations. Thanks for this tutorial as it allows me to continue to train despite working 13-15 hours a day.

    Jesus Christ, I’m sitting here trying to maintain this eagle claw. By no means, do I have weak hands, but the isometric strength to maintain it is astounding. I thinking merely holding this for 2 minutes will become part of my hand strengthening drills.

      Thank you! Ying Jow techniques, application, and internal power is quick, sudden, used for fighting and self-defense during grab attempts and/or after blocking strikes. Followed up with strikes, kicks, locks, sweeps, and take downs to disable the attacker. We stay mobile, active, using in & out footwork, and avoid any wrestling or dropping to the ground.

    • @bensonlee3739
      @bensonlee3739 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Locking techniques are advanced skills used best in law enforcement to control and calm down the situation. As for street self-defense use "Jow Da" techniques, quick control locks, sweeps, and take downs. Maintain your footwork and mobility to fight and escape - potential multiple attackers is always a possibility.

    Hello Sifu
    I appreciate your traditional approach to teaching
    I learned boxing in high school but not martial arts cause it was too expensive
    I can't learn in a dojo under a master because of finances
    However maybe I can learn from you via Skype
    I am not sure if you can do gradings online but maybe learning via Skype lessons it might be a budget alternative
    However one thing that might be a problem is not having someone physically there to correct posture however a solution might be to have a training partner who can correct posture because we cannot see ourselves in the third but they can
    I am looking forward to hearing from you Sufi and maybe we together can revolutionize how martial arts is taught I'll be your guinea pig!!!

    What is purpose of hanging claw ? Is it a strike ? Or used as a block ?

    • @bensonlee3739
      @bensonlee3739 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hanging Claw is just "one-type" of claw and just a name. The technique concept is clawing and twisting the wrist & arm as a quick natural action. The video explains blocking & striking concepts. All the best!

    • @EagleClawKungFuTaiChiofLA
      @EagleClawKungFuTaiChiofLA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "eagle claw" is our kung fu system trademark. It is considered intermediate to advance hand skills and requires a qualified instructor to guide you. Of course, anything to become a "natural skill" requires training and much practice to harmonize all the physical and mental requirements. If you are serious about learning please contact us directly. Thank you and all the best!

      Two months late but this video here shows a more simplistic version of everything that can be done by the movements in the eagle claw style: th-cam.com/video/pSS169xznSA/w-d-xo.html
      For me personally, this seems to be a very very very interesting style for self-defense. Many of the techniques would work even if you have less physical strength than your attackers, such as pressure in nerves, veins, muscles, and even grips to vital points in the neck. There are also many movements that can be done to use the opponent's power against themselves, and forms that use your weight and a certain motion that might break the opponent's elbow.
      OF COURSE, having more physical strength than your opponent is a great advantage, but these little things give you an extra chance to get you covered in a critical situation.
      And more important than all that: You'll be badass 😎

    • @EagleClawKungFuTaiChiofLA
      @EagleClawKungFuTaiChiofLA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      NDG - Thank you, you are correct this is a teaching video and not a demonstration application video. Your comments above on applications are spot on...
      There are opportunities to use the "eagle claw" hand in many scenarios... The how and when is vital, the speed and power is vital, positioning footwork is vital, and the follow up technique(s) to strike, break, sweep, and disable is vital...
