Additionally, Life is Strange: Before the Storm has earned a metascore of 77 on Metacritic. Everyone has their own individual opinion, that's all perfectly fine. However to be honest, if you look at the massive majority of professional reviews/journalists most of the time the public scores are higher than theirs. This is in not only games, but TV shows, books, movies, etc, etc, etc. It is the job for professional reviewers/journalists to criticize the flaws they see and point them out as well as mention positive things. Eh, my parents went through my room when I was a teen. I actually had stuff in there. Neither Chloe or I have a job so you can piece together that they’re getting money for it from bad means. I just look back on that with complete regret now and have opted to be a better son. I’m not saying how David handled that whole interaction was good, it wasn’t, but like Joe said there’s a time and place for breaching privacy. There’s a way to have David search the room and also not try to act like he understands who Chloe is.
Also, yeah, why would you care about your real parents if you’ve had zero interactions with them. That parental figure is filled. Maybe I would be spiteful but if they don’t care about me why would I care about them.
Also wow Sera is injected in the neck with heroin (or meth?) and she’s just talking like she’s sober lol. I get that thematically it would make her conversation a mumble drool fest but it’s funny
I mean, there is a reason Joe mentioned “with probable cause, especially with David who Chloe’s _known for less than a year_. He didn’t even bother to clean up after. He just rummaged through her stuff and kept it a mess. Like imagine a guy from a church or a teacher in your school in your house doing that. I was a higher achieving “goody two shoes” but would be mortified my parents seeing my discord chats or my sketchbook. I can’t blame Joe feeling iffy about this situation.

Marijuana is addicting, you can overdose on it and become psychotic, and do you know how much regular alochol use affects an undeveloped brain? How many highschool kids die from alcohol poisoning? But the game paints Chloe as being justified and right in being mad that David went through her room...never a single solitary second is spent criticizing Chloe for the actions she takes that lead to David rummaging through her room. In fact, the game _glorifies_ and _normalizes_ highschool kids drinking and doing drugs. I know the game is meant to portray Chloe spiraling but you can do that without _making the spiral look fun and demonizing the characters trying to save her._ David is a rough character but Chloe is a little sht whose gonna get herself killed if someone doesn't step in, and he recognizes that. The game tries to paint him as a control freak but realistically, he's a military man who just doesn't know wtf to do with Chloe or how to help her. His demands of Chloe are not wild. But nah we're supposed to hate him, apparently, because he's ex-military.
