There is no magnifying glass in the Notes app; it is exactly the same as your keyboard. You have Show Taps enabled for video recordings in developer mode, it's not a magnifying glass. You can tap the word anywhere the flashing cursor is very responsive and accurate, it'll go anywhere you want it to! It's never an issue for this type of video to be made, really! But that is why you cannot get that "magnifying glass" to place to a letter because its only a show Taps icon for showing what your tapping in screen recordings to show people what your tapping on its not a cursor!
