Hi I am from Bosnia. I already purchased this watch and it will come from USA to Bosnia for 2 months. This video helped me to understand some feature. Thanks
I’ve had mine for two years, and still love it. It’s great for what it’s designed for. Tracks steps, sleep, HR, and workouts, great GPS for something small on your wrist, very simple (though limited) smartphone interaction capabilities. Battery life has diminished after 2.5 years, but still get a couple days per charge with minimal GPS use. GPS sucks battery hard, but can still get through a 7-mile run starting at 70% without worries. If I were doing a half-marathon, I’d want to make sure I was at 100% first. Not sure if it would hold up for a full at this point, but probably.
It's 2021 and I'm just about to buy it over the latest garmin options because all I want to do is run run run. Pairing it with the garmin HRM dual will give me everything I need and all for under $300 USD ($310 AUD) Good video. Helped me decide. Thanks. P.s. you're right. It's for sports, not for apps.
Hello Omar do you still recommend this watch in Jan 2021 for a guy who mostly goes walking and biking ? Amazon has this exact same watch for $179.99 Canadian and I'm thinking about getting it. Thank you
Hey! Honestly I still do! It's a great watch but just make sure that that is the style of watch your looking for! If your looking for all the crazy smart features I would recommend something else but if you're looking for more of an outdoor watch with great GPS and basic smart features then I definitely recommend this still in 2021!
I got this watch today after loosing my Fossil Gen 5 in delivery to fix it. I got this for the HR for Cardiogram and Achievement. I need to get use to the limited watch screen customizations.
It's a good watch but I wish it had an open water swimming activity option. I have to select walk & then edit it to swim in Connect & Strava later every time.
Hi! Have you tried this or know how well this watch tracks indoor cycling? I use Favero Assioma power pedals (not ant+, i use bluetooth- my tablet doesn't allow ant+ and I use it for Rouvy). Or does it just track indoor cycling fairly well without the pedals? I don't need cadence or speed measurement. I can do that through Rouvy. I just want typical calories burned etc. But I want it accurate! For indoor. Without swinging my arms like crazy!
Hey! I havent tried it with indoor biking but I know people that have, but paired it with speed cadence sensor. They said it was very accurate, and showed all the calories burned etc
I dont understand why no one is showing what the GPS actually looks likeon the watch. Like is there actually a map that appears on screen or is this a gps that just tracks your miles?
I'm thinking about buying the Vivoactive 3 to use for Running, Hiking and Cycling. Can you tell me what the display looks like in Cycling mode? Does it show your current speed?
Hey! yes it will show your speed in bike mode, along with heart rate, distance, plus gps connection, and the time for the length of the bike ride. Hope this helps :)
Hey man, thx for nice review. I wanna buy my first runing watch, but had small budget ( in my budget is fr45 or this vivo3). I wanna only trail run + count steps + phone alerts. Need good gps, 10h batery life on run mode and 4 data fileds on one watch face in workout mode. i can connect the HR belt ?. Do you recommended this vivo3 in 2021 ? Wann use this watch from max 2 years, the garmin coach work good on this watch ? Best regards from Poland, sub + and sory for my english :-)
Hey sorry for the late reply! And I personally still would if all you are using it for is running/steps and not worried about advanced smart features! Battery life can extend with the back light off especially since you will be outside alot! Make sure the back light is dimmed during activity and it should last for 10 hours. It's still a great watch esp on a budget :)
Hey! If you are very active outside then yes! Step tracking is great as well but just remember the watch has to learn your movements. When I first got the watch I didn't realize that and was about to return it. If you do grab the watch make sure to go in the workout options and go for 20min walk so it tracks your moving patterns when you walk.
Hey thank you for the kind words! I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure because I think the device I had was faulty, I wasn't able to use all the watch faces that came on the Garmin app which were compatible with the Vivo active 3. I did all the updates and still alot of them wouldn't work for some reason but said they where usable and showed the picture as well in the app. Sorry:(
nice review, question, how is the battery life, how long will last from chart to chart, bay the wey the intro music is to loud, and what type of notification will receive.
@@orated8391 I actually ended up buying it! Loving my watch so far. I didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on a watch because I'm just starting my fitness journey. 👍
I got a question. So the vivo 3 right now in Australia is $249. I have 3 options I might go for. And right now they are all at a discount. Vivo 3 - $249 Forerunner 935 - $375 Ticwatch C2+ - $315 The ticwatch C2+ would be the latest 2020 where the other two are much older.
Hi there I’m also in Australia. What would you recommend it will be my first fitness watch. Vivo 3 AU$249 Or Forerunner AU$375 My lifestyle is pretty active i cycle every day and go to gym 4 times a week. (Resistance training, cardio) And do hikes, swimming, longer runs and kayaking occasionally. - Is the vivo3 better for counting reps or will they both work the same? Thanks in advance.
@@naomimeijer9858 I think this is a question for him to answer as I haven't used the VIvo 3. I recently got the forerunner 245 music at $289, which is a bargain RN. It's about 5 days now and i've just been recording it for runs and some light home workout. The run tracking is pretty accurate to my readings. Keep in mind the Vivo 3 is much older than the forerunenr 245 music (the one i got). I don't really know much above the vivo 3 but i can say the forerunner is a pretty good choice rn due to the discount. Battery is on my 5th day now without charge. The reps count can get off sometimes but not by a major amount (1 or 2). you can edit the reps each set you do. I think if you track it at gym it would be more accurate to what I'm doing at home cause my form may be off. The 245 music is also a small watch so perfect for my skinny wrist. It's also surprising light weight, I sometimes forget it's on my arm. Also not a touchscreen.
@@LayMooTun Thanks for your advice! I ended up going for the forerunner 935 and enjoying it a lot. The battery life lasts twice as much, only that already was worth it for me. And I prefer the buttons over the touchscreen. Rep counting in the gym is a bit off as well, depending on which exercise. Tends to recognise only certain movements/exercises . But doesn't bother me much. I love it! #GarminFam
I think it would depend on the preference of if you like having a touch screen or not. They are both very similar tracking wise but if you like you like touch screen then go with the Active 3, if not then the forerunner 45
Still looking for a smartwatch that will record a FIT file with GPS trace of my "inactivities," e.g. when I'm using public transport, mowing the lawn, as well as when I'm bicycling. Maybe there is no such thing.
@@orated8391 I've thought about such a feature, but it wouldn't be absolutely necessary. A plain old "track me" activity would help a lot, which I think the Garmin Instinct has. It seems like a long time since I was looking. I bought a COROS Pace 2 this month as my first-ever smartwatch, and it seems I can use the GPS Cardio activity to do something similar to what I want - just record my location without hassling me about laps and sensors etc. Maybe something better will come along, but for now it'll do. It's a a small watch with good battery life - unobtrusive enough to wear anywhere. The nylon wristband is comfortable for all-day and all-night wear. Even though it wasn't a purchasing criterion, I do use the Gym GPS cardio activity on my indoor bicycle rides on my Wahoo KICKR SNAP trainer, just to get the heartrate data. The Rouvy service I use with the trainer could do that, too, if I had a heart rate monitor, but I don't care to wear such a thing. I don't mind having it on the watch, though. I'll keep paying attention to what new watches and features come along in the future.
Do you have any experience with the Fitbit Versa 2? It seems pretty similar to the Vivoactive 3 on the surface in terms of features for a similar ballpark price. I'm not looking for the most intense fitness watch or smart watch, and either of these would be replacing a Charge 2 so a step up either way.
Hello Omar I had a forerunner in the past and I liked very much. .you covered all the questions I had except for one. I wanted to know more about the alarm setting. The main question is when you have your alarm when it goes off can you just tap the face to shut it off? Thanks for your time appreciate it to review.
You said what you said , but thing is different . The first , arm band is too short . My wrist is normal size . On Garmin just two holes left , on Fitbit 6 holes . The next , what really pissed me off are : alarm clock sets by itself ( usually at 7 am - I woke up at 8 ! or randomly over the weekend ) , then timer sets by itself and work in background draining battery very quickly , then watch face ( I customized it ) change by itself , then time is often incorrect even though it is set to automatic . Not reliable at all . Shame for Garmin . I have it for 8 months now and also wearing Fitbit for last 5 years .My first Garmin is my last Garmin . And Fitbit app is 10 times better . The unit is likely discontinued but think twice before you decide to buy Garmin .
If I buy this watch in 2021 will there be updates coming up or it will be considered obsolete? Also the skeleton is of stainless steel? And lastly are there any More skins ?.... thanks great video
Hey! Yes Garmin always has updates. When you get the watch you will have to hook it up to your computer and update it on Garmin Express. The Bezel is steel but the rest is plastic. You can find different skins on Amazon to protect your watch, hope this helps :)
