I LOVE your message to retailers!!!! And I agree!! I have been drinking this juice since 2007 and it was always available. Now people are buying it to hoard it and post picts of their "collection". I love your honesty!
Makes me all the more thankful to have a store near me that always lists their Fortaleza at MSRP whenever they do get it. No funny games with allocations, keeping the bottles behind the counter, or markups. If they have it, it'll be on the shelf at retail.
I purchased Fortaleza in Chicago 5/7 years ago, and I was hooked and I’m a cognac guy The tequila was affordable I now live in Atlanta and if I can get a bottle it’s 70 plus bucks And there is no G4 anywhere in the Atlanta area
Word on the street. They are building another distillery to keep up with demand. But it's at the point where it's better to jump on a plane to go to Mexico and buy a few bottles.
In DC, the liquor store owners are selling the Fortaleza at the following prices: Blanco $130; Anejo $150-199. I haven't located any Reposado or Still. I have seen the Still on line for $199 - $299.
I have seen these ridiculous price’s and worse, that’s one of the reasons I make some of the videos I do, I want people to know the truth and get the prices down to where they should be so we can enjoy these tequilas at a reasonable price.
What even more worse and funnier is their Winter Blend special editions... I remember paying $90 for the 2019 and 2020...now if you want the 2023/24... Your looking to pay 300 minimum to 500 😂 FOH
I know this is an older video but I just ventured from bourbon to tequila. Even in bourbon it was the same. People got expectations off of secondary and rarity. It's not the actual distilleries or company's that produce your juice that making these prices that are way over retail. Problem is people like to crap on the people that made it instead of appreciating what it was originally for. Just bc its hard to get doesn't mean it's worth what you paid secondary. NOTHING will ever be worth what you paid secondary. I don't see Fortaleza every day in North Carolina/ South Carolina but it is around for msrp if you know where to go once every few weeks. I got one this morning. It's just hard to get anything other than the blanco here. I drink and enjoy what I find. Some just use it for a paper weight and a showcase. I got a weller CYPB last week for 60 that can go on secondary for up to 500 dollars. Popped the cork right when I got home. I was talking to someone at the store and they said they have had their CYPB for 8 years unopened. Most of these people buying up everything don't even drink them. Good thing about North Carolina is it's a controlled state. They can't sell over MSRP.
I agree 100 % that is why I make these videos , I want people to know the truth about what’s really going on. Hopefully one day all this bull will stop. Salud and thank you for watching.
My liquor store only sells fortaleza only in bundles.. the bundle included fortaleza añejo, siete leguas reposado, and G4 blanco for 190 dollars.. twist my arm! I got it.. I ask why and he said to discourage scalpers..
Perhaps, or perhaps an excuse to sell you other tequilas and increase sales using Fortaleza to their advantage. I understand what the liquor owner is saying but it’s unfair to the customer, other than that everything seems to be priced correctly, 90, 60 and 40.
I moved to Italy almost 3 years ago, so hard to find good tequila in shops around here. So I started to search online, found an online spirit seller and they carry Fortaleza, their prices are (in euros) 70 blanco, 79, reposado, 79 still, 120 anejo. They just got a limited amount of 2023 Winter blend and I bough tone for 150 euros. I didn't think it was too bad given it was imported into Italy and I havent' been able to find any in US stores where I have a home at
Looks good compared to prices I’ve seen lately, not to mention what many are paying for these products. Some stores are a bit overpriced, I think if its a bit over it’s suggested retail price and it’s difficult to find then yes a few dollars over is still worth it.
This morning in South Carolina I found it for 64. About a 10 to 15 dollar mark up off MSRP. Wish I could find it more in North Carolina as I live along the border bc NC can't sell above MSRP but SC can. I still bought it though bc I love Fortaleza's story and how they make it so to me 10 or 15 bucks for something so hard to get was ok for me. Still hate how they mark up though
Buyers should start refusing to buy the brand at these inflated prices and trust me they will come down in price. But people are suckers for FOMO fever and then two years later look stupid. There are good brands just as good or almost as good for regular prices. The motto should be, "don't be a sucker of tequila FOMO"
I agree 100%, there is many tequilas just as good, you just have to try them. I can’t be leave what some people pay for these bottles, with the money they are spending on overpriced tequila, they can purchase many other great tequilas at once.
I feel EFFN STUPID!!!! I was in Las Vegas, NV a few months ago... i found a few bottles at Lee's "DISCOUNT" liquor I paid $130 a bottle for fortaleza Blanco,, i got two bottles 🤦🏽♂️🔨🔨🔨😩 Never again!!!!
I made this video to educate people on what’s going on and to expose these greedy retailers taking advantage. Now that you know you wont make that mistake again. Thank you for watching.
I just picked up one bottle each of the blanco at BevMo for $54.95 and the repo for $64.95 here in Northern California. Did BevMo skim me for $5.00 per bottle???
You heard the Man himself, so yes they got you for 4.95 above each bottle. Honestly considering how difficult these bottles are to find and how overpriced they are, you got a great deal. Salud enjoy.
Im from new Zealand, i brought my blanco for $125, anejo is the most expensive coming in at 200,still strength is aroumd 137,not too sure about reposado... its probably because we get so much bullshit tequilas in and they know the quality of fortaleza.
Wow! 125 for the regular blanco is killer!!! Watch some of my videos for recommendations in case some of the tequilas are available in you country, I recommend you explore other brands, Fortaleza isn’t the only quality brand out there. But I get it there is a lot of bullshit tequilas and unfortunately they are the easiest to find.
La Fortaleza distillery has been having trouble keeping up with demand and they still keep the prices affordable. If anyone should be raising prices it should be them. Many retailers are holding back on supply and taking advantage of the consumer. I understand business and I understand supply and demand. Sounds like you’re a business owner or know someone who is. Thanks for watching.
Luckily for me, in my town the prices that he's quoting is what my favorite spirits store sells them for. Even better, this store doesn't have a big tequila following yet, so I was able to get three Blancos and three Reposados over the couple of days that it was in stock. Thank you Sir !
I've been shopping there for a year and haven't seen any jacked up prices yet. All Total Wine stores, that I've seen, and Bevy's in Denver also follow MSRP pricing.@@tequilaforeverforevertequi4647

Thank you for watching and for your feed back I appreciate it. All I want is for people to learn the truth and to bring the prices back down to earth.
SAME!!
* And I LOVE your attitude!! I'm white as casper, but I'm Mexican on the inside .... where it counts!!! 👊

Salud!!!! 🥂
So much respect for the distiller - thanks for sharing this.
Everyone looking for Fortaleza should know this! Thank you for watching.

Glad to hear you found an honest retailer, they are very few and makes me happy they are doing the right thing. Salud enjoy!

Try ordering from old town liquor in San Diego, they have a great selection.
Yes Sir. I absolutely Hate price gouging
Word on the street. They are building another distillery to keep up with demand. But it's at the point where it's better to jump on a plane to go to Mexico and buy a few bottles.
That is correct, they have been working on expanding.
In DC, the liquor store owners are selling the Fortaleza at the following prices: Blanco $130; Anejo $150-199. I haven't located any Reposado or Still. I have seen the Still on line for $199 - $299.

Yes it's 200 for anejo in my country.some are even 280. I believe anejo and reposado are rare in my country while Blanco is fairly easier to get.
It’s to find anywhere, and when you do there expensive, I just recommend other tequilas honestly.
What even more worse and funnier is their Winter Blend special editions... I remember paying $90 for the 2019 and 2020...now if you want the 2023/24... Your looking to pay 300 minimum to 500 😂 FOH
I don’t think I’ll ever try a winter blend at that price.

$59.99 for Fortaleza blanco in Fairview,n.j. That's a great price
When demand out paces supply, the exceedingly high prices ensues. Is what it is.
My liquor store only sells fortaleza only in bundles..

Very hard to find in Illinois, had to go over the border to Kenosha Wisconsin, Woodmans grocery, got it for $57.99. Was well worth it, amazing Blanco.
You got it for a good price! I’m glad you enjoyed it, it’s a really good tequila.
I have two bottles of Blanco and am a happy man.

I haven't seen it in Idaho, at any price. But, bought a bottle of tequila ocho for around 60 bucks ... and that stuff is tasty!
Ocho is a very good brand of tequila, which one did you have?
Thank you Guillermo love your products i payed £78 for the still strength in London my favourite brand of Tequila 😊
Now days that’s a good price for this tequila , just under 100 U.S. dollars.
I paid $89/ bottle for blanco in the Lincoln park neighborhood of Chicago last summer!😡
I know how you feel! That’s why these videos are for, to prevent it from happening again.

Very informative
Thank you
Some modafokas over here in Long Island New York want 220 for añejo ,thanks
Your welcome. Thank you for watching, and F##k them!
Found a blanco for $80 in Suffolk today actually

That's strange because I paid 2100 pesos for a bottle of anejo at their distillery last year.
The man gave the suggested retail price, I don’t know why it would be any different there!
I just picked up one bottle each of the blanco at BevMo for $54.95 and the repo for $64.95 here in Northern California. Did BevMo skim me for $5.00 per bottle???

So what, the stores are in business to make money. It’s called supply and demand.

In states where Tequila is big! Just about every good tequila sales regardless of the price! And they sale quick!
There is clearly not enough juice to go around. I appreciate Sauza trying to keep the prices low but the only solution is to have high prices.
The solution is building a new distillery or expanding La Fortaleza , which is something that they are working on.
@@tequilaforeverforevertequi4647 I bet they could built a bigger and better distillery if they had more money.
Always overpriced when I see it. If it's a fair price I'll buy one.
Keep looking, I’m sure you will find one fairly priced, mean while enjoy other tequilas while some idiots over pay.
Terrible sound
Thanks for the feed back, will try and improve the audio quality.
