I watch several sailing channels for many years, yours is special because you built it. "Adventures of an old sea dog" is a close second, That old timer is crazy.
I had my worries about how the channel would progress going from building to sailing. I really loved the build part. Happy to report that this has turned into my favorite sailing channel now. Kinsey's smile just does me in, what a sweetheart.
It was a real treat to be able to hang out with Rediviva and crew this summer! Many great memories were made with you guys! We had a fresh jam sesh on Rediviva while chowing on Garrett's fish nuggs, which were fantastic! Nice shout out to Island Fox! 🦊 Thanks for the fun times! See you on this flip side!
I cannot get over how seamlessly you craft your narration. To me it’s a wonderful spoken diary that’s enhanced by the video rather than the reverse, which is more commonplace. It’s incredibly involving, like a good book, I love it.
I will never tire of the shots of the wooden masts with the sails up, looking up to the sky. I takes me back to the episodes when it was crafted and it still amazes me to see how they turned out. Thanks for sharing.
Every time I see that tiller I just smile to think I had just a little something to do with the build and now the everyday operation of the boat. An intregal part of the boat. Thanks for using it.❤
Worth a try??? I use a cell phone recharging pack hooked up to our camera with the usb cable to keep the camera going during battery "issues". It's a bit of a pain as the battery pack does add weight (we use a simple rubber band to keep it attached to the stick) and is a bit cumbersome, but it does keep the camera going as well as the main camera battery stays charged 👍Don't know if it'll help you but it might be worth a try🙏🙏 Oh to be young again... Have fun & be safe out there 🙂
Clogger is the perfect nickname..so similar to a toilet drain. Well Clogger, your opinion is relevant, say if the crew was surveying to determine how everyone feels about the crew. But they didn't, so for Pete's sake, put aside insulting remarks. They're south of the US cerebrating true hearted excitement brought by hard work fun, raw sense of humor, spontaneity, rocken-out fun. Place yourself for a moment on that deck and see for yourself if its not a hoot🎐
Ruth, not sure if you got a trim or your hair is just growing out but Absolutely adorable, even messed up, it works! Just wanted you to know and Kinsey, well just plain cute as all get out that is becoming quite the deck hand👍
Every time i watch you guys hauling your anchor my elbow starts to hurt. i have a Simpson push button horizontal windlass that im replacing with a vertical maxwell. my old windlass will be perfect for rediviva, and i'd like to donate it to you. I can bring it with me when i return to san carlos. get in touch with me!
Hi,I watch several sailing channels, and I noticed that you were playing the intro music to “Sailing Fair isle”,it is definitely worthwhile watching…as is yours.Cheers Roly🇬🇧.
I have to say that I have loved this channel since I found you forming to pour the keel. Even the rough times were still very good videos and showed that everything can and will take it's toll. To watch you break out of all that hard work into the life you'd both been working SO HARD FOR, well, it's a game changer to all of us sitting back wishing we could be there with you!!! Two things I'd "suggest", keep your batteries in the cooler until 10 to 15 minutes before you will need them. That should keep the core cool and longer lasting. the second thing, show more of you just going through your routines. Maybe plug a few gopro's into the house batteries and shoot the routine. You'd be surprised how many funny and sexy clips it will provide...
OMG PLEASE be careful with those lithium batteries, and don't keep them where they can start a fire on your precious boat. Batteries on ebikes have started fires in NYC residential buildings.
Am I making this up but wasn't there talk about hooping the sails to the mast. I'm sure I recall ( at my age a bonus) a convo about this. Rope loops or even marine grade woods. Just came to mind as I enjoy your leisurely 5.5 knots....
I have a wooden grand banks 36, I used ablative bottom paint, it comes off which makes it hard for growth to stick, you can use a scrub brush to remove stuff as it grows on your boat, when you haul it out it comes off super easy with a scraper or light sanding for a new coat, no sanding for weeks to remove bottom paint, you could have dived down with a scrub brush and removed what you did in this video maybe
Was just down there. Kept my eye out for you guys. SO HOT! (Water too!) Can't imagine living with limited shade like that. You guys are troopers! Great episode. I agree, Kinsey is a great addition to the channel. Will be a sad loss.
So it’s been many a month since I’ve left a comment or even watched one of your videos! What’s the first thing I see you wrenching on..that windless……boy do I remember that thing! I am so glad it’s still giving you good service! Miss you both, R from Sonoma!
Loving the Dynamics Craziness and Beauty of the New crew member, Your daughter is gorgeous Ruth and brings so much energy ⚡ to Rediviva. It would be impossible to have a bad day with this beautiful soul around.. Loving the journey love from The Land Down Under 😘 😘 😘
PS..I misssssss 9.9 in the intro 😂😂😂😂One of the most memorable moments of the channel period.. The joy and excitement on Garrett's face was priceless 😘😘😘
I really enjoy your videos and to be honest I’m not a sailor don’t hate me, but I do have a JetSki lol but I live in southern Nevada in the desert. We don’t have no real water here but we have Lake Meade. It’ll be nice when you guys catch on a little more when you get like 100,000+ followers that way you can start doing some of the improvements that you want and maybe have a little bit better monetized income.
There are many irresistible things about Kinsey. She's a hoot!! Funny and sexy. We absolutely ❤ her! 💯😈 Thank you for another masterpiece, Ruthie!! We 💯❤️ love you to.
At 13:00. I have two old GoPros, a 3 and an 8. When the battery runs out on the 3, it quits. When it runs out on the 8, first video freezes while audio continues, and then it dies. Weirdness.
Hey Guys, excuse me if this was covered in previous episodes but where did you get your sails? Or what sail loft might you suggest? I have an old gaff sail that needs replacing on an 18' catboat. Am in Santa Cruz CA.
I watched your vids for three months before I realized you were saying in your video, "You're coming too". I thought you were saying, equally appropriately, "You're gonna puke."

Mustard ;) Between editing and just how much I can put in a single episode, it ebbs and flows. We film 7 days a week and only one episode released in that week so it's just how it goes. I like to put the date on for reference though R
The date is very useful so we have a reference point. Otherwise confusing with change of climate etc. Wish more sailing channels had the date. @@SaltandTar
Someday I will understand why GoPro owns the market when their batteries and cameras have overheated for decades now and they’ve done nothing to fix it. Or in the alternative why nobody has invented a solution to it
Kenzie kills me..she is funny as hell
Will be a very sad day when Kinsey leaves the boat. Her enthusiasm for life is addictive
Hey publish the toastie recipe! Looks scrumptious.

Ruthie's getting really good at this vlog thing.
Well said, I've often thought how great it would be if Ruth recorded audio books.
100 times agree!!! I hope Ruthie writes a book of these adventures.
I will never tire of the shots of the wooden masts with the sails up, looking up to the sky. I takes me back to the episodes when it was crafted and it still amazes me to see how they turned out. Thanks for sharing.
2 boats under sail side by side is ALWAYS a race.
Every time I see that tiller I just smile to think I had just a little something to do with the build and now the everyday operation of the boat. An intregal part of the boat. Thanks for using it.❤
It's essential!!! We LOVE it and can't believe how perfect it fits. Part of the crew part of the ship 🙏
R&G
Struck by the music in this one. Great job Ruth!
Still my favorite wood monohull on TH-cam… such a beautiful boat
Poetry in motion. All of it....(jealous much)
You could try keeping your batteries in the fridge, or cooler box. It worked for me.
When the battery swells, you need to change it because it is a safety issue.
Have you guys ever thought about building another cabin top at the back and having a stern cabin? It seems like there’s more than enough space for it.
Worth a try??? I use a cell phone recharging pack hooked up to our camera with the usb cable to keep the camera going during battery "issues". You guys are too much fun!
Exceptional episode, nice to see Kinsey with her groove on, filleting fish and feeding the whole gang!
Miss you guys. Buddy boating with you was definitely the highlight of my summer.
Best looking deck crew on youtube...
Kinsey would have to brighten the day of anyone who encounters her. Kinsey, you can call me Sorbent.
Weird dynamic with the new crew - liked it better with the two of you 😎

Your snug rig is perfect for the trades.
Time for some sun shades. In the future, maybe a/c for the cabin. Ecoflow has a combi ac/heater or one of each. Good 🐠 🐠 haul.
I myself think Redaviva is a lot more beautiful than any of them fiberglass boats
Hell yeah 👍 as they say down under built not bought 🎉
That's all wooden boats.
@16:00 - a "gyre" perhaps?

Another great episode
Ok, mind blown....Starlink on a Captain Ron classic is next level matrix simulation stuff . Keep putting out the vibes. Fun.
Right on.
Boat doesn’t look big until you show cleaning the hull. Wow.
San Francisco ?
Virtual Regatta : X3 this year ! ...
❤ 🎉 😊
We helped build that boat me and my family and
Be careful with those batteries, especially if they’re swelling. Fire on a boat is☹️
nice video nice peaceful sail.Greatr views and scenery
looking forward to next video.
OMG PLEASE be careful with those lithium batteries, and don't keep them where they can start a fire on your precious boat. Batteries on ebikes have started fires in NYC residential buildings.
TOTALLY different chemistry. please read up on the difference and why the LiFePO4 Batteries here mentioned are NOT E-bike batteries. Ignorance
Remember friends" youthful chemistry
Did I hear yellowtail? Have you had it? So gooooood!
very inspiring to all of us sailors.
You are a lucky man Garrett. 😍✌️👍
Completely love you guys,,, my day is wonderful after watching your videos!!!
Well by now you are ready for the equator crossing, if you could handle heat for that long you got it made
When you make it to Mazatlan, you have to eat at Mi Ranchito Los Osuna.
Am I making this up but wasn't there talk about hooping the sails to the mast. I'm sure I recall ( at my age a bonus) a convo about this. Rope loops or even marine grade woods. Just came to mind as I enjoy your leisurely 5.5 knots....
This one's up to your superlative standards. Thanks again for a great video. Fair winds and following (but not over the transom) seas.

Beautiful cruzie day with an equally beautiful crew.
I love how the far horizon has that nice curve to it
Great video
I could watch those girls cranking up the anchor all day long.
Love you guys. Keeping it real. 😊❤

@@SaltandTar look forward to seeing it beautiful xox
You guys should attach a strong electrical drill to the windless to help pull up the anchor.
Try putt charger and batteries in a watertight box then pack that with bagged ice
Really enjoy your videos!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
If you haven't found that comraderie outside of sailing, you should try farming in West Virginia. Love you guys!
Sure is a nice part of the world to sail in great video to capture it all well done crew !!
Love it so much keep it up as always 💘
beautiful water

Wenderful 🥰
There are many irresistible things about Kinsey. She's a hoot!! Funny and sexy. We absolutely ❤ her! 💯😈 Thank you for another masterpiece, Ruthie!! We 💯❤️ love you to.
Have you tried a cordless drill on the windless? Might be worth a try.
Lovely!

Haha yup! All mine are 8's found another brand of battery that oddly works better BUT it is just so damn hot down here I just have to get new ones
R
Curious if a small dc fridge wouldn’t make sense. Batteries could be stored there, and some other things as well?
ON ON !!
OK, you two have got half the you-tube world in love with Kinsey. And NOW she can cook too? Wowsers! 😂
Sometimes I think too much Garret and not enough Ruth
The vegetation is sparse because you are at sea.😁
Ok, smarty pants haha fare enough ;)

Another groovy episode. What is in the yummy looking sandwich? I want one.
Hey Guys, excuse me if this was covered in previous episodes but where did you get your sails? Or what sail loft might you suggest? I have an old gaff sail that needs replacing on an 18' catboat. Am in Santa Cruz CA.
Now I know where the term "sailor bum" comes from. Lots of bum in this video. Lol. Blessings.
and very nice it was too!
Nailed it. I got the first like up at 18 seconds. By the time the video was over, 226 likes.
Why don’t you attatch a drill motor to your windlass to raise and lower your anchor?
Are you guy going to be near Huatulco end of November
CToo cool, ive subbed
Have you thought about top masts and topsails for light wind?
You know it! Maybe in the future ;)
Maybe a yard too 🤔
Please dont leave swollen lithium batteries in your boat. They have a habit of catching fire.
💯
👍👍
