This is the best commercial I have ever watched and chose to continue it to the end. Big companies need to learn from this. Build your audience so those watching WANT to be here. Cheers.👍
Had a chance to peek around at Skirmish last weekend, what absolute beauties! That falchion just makes you want to go cut the world in half, what an amazing blade shape!
Bloody hell, Tod. If I were a halfway wealthy man (and I'm not knocking the incredible price point, here), I'd have bought all four of these before posting this comment. It's like you've been surfing the algorithms to work out specifically what I want to see made. Well done for your consistently fantastic work, for the ever excellent TH-cam content, and for keeping my wallet in constant peril.
Todcutler is not the historically accurate, good performing, affordable range of historic replicas we deserve, but it is the one we need. You are doing the Lords work with todcutler, simply brilliant stuff. (The only thing we need now is a todcutler crossbow line, but that might be me dreaming)
I mean, if there’s enough market demand for him to find a way to make them he will probably find a way to do it if only because a he would probably like to find a way to make the crossbows a little bit cheaper but also for the obvious reason, the more people who buy his stuff the more extravagant, interesting experimental archaeology he can do basically through our purchases refund his experiments as a medievil mad scientist
I'm watching this right after taking my long quillon Dagger out of the box today and I cant wait to see what's on offer a couple of years from now in terms of swords
"What the hell was all that about?" "Let's never talk about this again." "He touched my sword..." Will be their conversation after Tod sends them back into history.
We've put in an order for a Wakefield hanger. I asked my wife (thinking she'd say no) and she pretty much ordered me to get it on account of how much having one will cheer me up. I've been collecting for 20 years, and I can honestly say that your stuff is the best I've ever owned.
God Tod, why do this to me?! "I'll buy a dagger every now and then from Tod", I said to myself. "He can't tempt me with swords because there's no way I can afford his fancy stuff". Now you come out with an affordable Wakefield Hanger AND a Grosses Messer? Bloody hell. I'll have to save up and get them both, though the Messer will be for my wife. She's always had an absurd fascination with the-swords-who-are-knives. Glorious work as always. You are by far my favourite smith.
I fell in love with 3rd one. If you've ever messed around with any sword play, the hands are very vulnerable. Having a basket type hand guard of any kind is definitely necessary.
Ive been saving for your 16th Century German Bastard Sword. I will be placing my order soon as way to celebrate finishing my merical program. I really love your work.
Hello Tod! (I am Austrian (so my mother tongue is (a version of) german)). I think, you got the name of the last one wrong: starting at 4:06 you wrote “German Grossemesser”. It would be “Großes Messer” or, may be, “Großmesser” (no “e”) (and s-z-ligatur “ß”) I suppose. Thank you for all your videos full of information and tests! Greetings from the south of Austria, Kalten
They look absolutely spectacular, I have a few of the Tod Cutler daggers and never regretted it (big thanks for offering a left handed messer). Those in particular are a bit late for me, but I might find it hard to resist.
I too am a lover of short swords. My long arms help. Just ordered the knuckle bow WOTR Wakefield hanger. So pretty, it made my eyes hurt. Gonna do some cutting. Will compare with LK Chen Ribaldo, and a couple more I have on order. Big cutting fest on my birthday at end of September I hope... Can't wait.
Nice to meet you today at Tewkesbury! Wish we could have talked more. Very happy with the little knife I bought, still thinking about that clip point, looked even better in real life!
Well you've really gone for some strong openers.... I've loved the Wakefield hanger style as soon as I saw it a few years ago. With the major disclaimer of me never handling one lol, to me they look like one of the nicest all-around sidearms you could ask for. Earlier swords with more developed guards always interest me just by themselves
Awesome Introductions, very precise and to the point, and of course completed with visual historical mates. My favorite is the War of the Roses too, because of the guard!
Those swords look lovely. Right now I'm armchair only but for future reference, are the Wakefield hanger and the German Grossemesser available in left-handed versions?
If the quality is what I think it will be, these are huge values, especially given that they include the scabbard and belt rig. I want all of them, but the hanger and type XIV are calling to me the most. Also, love the (guitar?) music at the end
Oh wow, excellent work, very excited for these! I wish there was a left handed option for the Wakefield hangar... I always have trouble finding complex hilted swords that accommodate my left handedness
Wow Tod, you have outdone yourself. That type 14 and clipped pointed falchion are both exactly what I have been wanting to get for a while and sexy as hell. Now time for the hard decisions, green or red leather? XD The later falchion and messer are really nice too, exactly the work one should expect from a master as yourself.
I only have one set of hands.....I make all my samples as well as everything Tods Workshop and some of the Tod Cutler pieces and the the balance is batch production across assorted companies, foundries for the mace heads for example
@@tods_workshop Thank you. It is perfectly understandable that you have just one pair of hands. It's just nice to know the background story of the item 🙂
You're killing me Tod, these are gorgeous, and the scabbards and harnessing as well. Sadly, a little out of my range right now, but I'm looking forward to picking one once I've saved up a bit.
I love the look of the Wakefield Falchion and would love to own one but alas, I'm left handed so those kinds of swords never work for me. Might have to get the type XIV instead.
I felt a great disturbance in the my finances, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced
wallets are on fire
Martha, we're cancelling vacations this summer. No money left.
Well if it helps I bought a sword today as well

Never enjoyed an ad so much before 😆. Love all your work.
I thought the same! He doesn't have to try hard, though. Stop drilling,Todd! Ya, already hit oil!
Thanls guys, very generous and a chuckle as well - thanks
It's funny how Shadiversity made a big video about how hard it is to get historical falchions just before you released a whole batch of them.

When can us peasants get some long swords tod
Ooh, those swords look mint. The models did a great job of displaying the rigs without interupting Tod's flow.
absurdly good value. can't believe they come with a scabbard for the price.
"What the hell was all that about?"
"Let's never talk about this again."

I love short swords too, especially falchions. Would love to start a nice collection soon
Very cool! I absolutely love that Roses falchion
Damn they look gorgeous.
Outstanding! Especially like you’ve done the Wakefield with the intact sidebar👌
Wishing you every success with your new line of Tod Cutler swords! Quality, authenticity, and good workmanship, incarnate!,
Awesome! I'd love a messer and, eventually a kriegs-messer. Also I'm looking forward to a solid longsword and two-hander.
My Wakefield hanger arrived today (two months earlier than expected). Really happy with it.

Will you be taking your Bastard Sword on Rounds with you, when you start doctoring?
I had a piece of beauty -a rondel dagger from Todd Cutler - for my birthday this past weekend. It's an absolute pleasure to handle and to look at.
Lovely swords and falchions with a wood cored scabbard for this price is absolutely brilliant!
Ordered a Wakefield hanger today, actually in stock, with the green scabbard even! Such a beautiful blade; a unique and uniquely English sword...
I don't do hema and have never owned a sword in my life but that clip point falchion 👌
Todd, I would love to see more videos of you making things. A video of you making those swords would be awesome.

And just when you thought you were done with your sword collection, a wild Tod appears with an absolutely gorgeous Type XIV! I wannit!! 😀👍🏼
These are so cool and your friends did such a good job modeling!
I can't wait for Matt Easton to get his hands on some of these beautiful examples to see them used properly. 👍👍
I don't normally watch ads, but Tod is definitely an exception. That Wakefield hanger is fascinating.
Been waiting for these. I'll have to get something to match my Todd Cutler dagger
They look absolutely spectacular, I have a few of the Tod Cutler daggers and never regretted it (big thanks for offering a left handed messer).

Oh, I didn't know he made those. I hope the grosse messer sells well enough to get a left-handed version too, I'd find that very tempting indeed.
Outstanding work by the models
God man, that Messer is everything I've been waiting for in a production piece!
$700 for a sharp, short arming sword that is proper to teh time period is a very good deal I think.
And with scabbard! You can pay that for a scabbard alone.
My Christmas wish list just got way more exciting
The return of Hob of the Jaunty Hat Bois from the swordbreaker vid!

Any tips on how best to sharpen these properly for cutting practice?

Beautiful short swords.
2:13 Is that the beginnings of what will later become the baskethilt broadsword/backsword I see in that design?
Well done to Tod and the team historically accurate practical swords and scabbards at affordable prices
I finally got the Type 14! I absolutely love it! I got the red scabbard for it.
Accompanying buckler shields would be a tasty combo. I mean my appetite is whetted already, but can you just imagine.
That's great news, i was hoping for years now that you offer swords someday.
Love those beautiful short swords :)
you need to make a companion dagger to that arming sword

I would recommend just emailing him as you approach being able to purchase. He's very flexible in the work he can do.
Thank you - I just emailed to ask the same thing

Amazing work. You are a talented artist.
Wow! Sold out already, only a few messer left 😮

They are beautiful but that Wakefield hanger is stunning. Excellent work Tod.
