- In this video we will fabricate new floor pans for the custom 1953 Chevy Chicken Truck project. I'll be doing it on the cheap using simple tools, then using a mig welder to install them.

stop watching television with the lights off .... it will make you crazy , and get your feet off the coffee table - kyle , kyle are you listening ? . . . . . . the video really floored me
The smacking the floor pan before welding it😂😂 I do that everytime.
All the pro's use that technique!
I never know which Mr Carter we are going to get but I like all three of you. Keep it up.
All 4 of us say "thanks"
😂 Kyle you are a master of self deprication. You take sarcasm to its pinnacle of high art
Hahah thanks!
That floor is perfect. All them fancy bead rolls set it off. If you don't cover it with carpet, people will gather around it taking pictures and stuff.
Not only do i love your work but also your humor.
Glad to hear that! Thanks!
The floor turned out nice. I think that you might have a future in the body repair industry.
Thank you John, I'll definitely consider getting into the trade!
He strikes me as a little too clever to pursue mundane work but I guess if it makes him happy

Well, today's your lucky day 🙂
Leave the rust and the snow and the pregnant ex girlfriend behind as I hear Earl Scheibs in Vegas is hiring. $7.26 hr to start, but you'll learn some fancy new techniques such as the casino facade, the stripper facelift, the pet the kitty hair, rivets roulette, the that'll buff out after two gallons of mud blending method, and our in house specialty: the just get it out the damn door because we have 10 more $99.95's to do today.
no one wants to do that shit work for someone else
Since finding this channel ( fixing my own rust issues)I've discovered something so deeply therapeutic about watching someone else slaving away for hours doing difficult and ultimately pointless work. Thx brother! You got some mad skills btw and patience a true artiste
Haha, thank you!
Chicken Truck floors from scratch.
A rare mid week video!
Life just keeps getting better 😊. Thanks Kyle.
The George Costanza of the bead roller!
36 minutes of watching a master at work accompanied by good music and color commentary. What more could you want?
I was surprised that you didn't bead-roll the floor panels to avoid oil-canning. But then you went back and did it. What a disappointment. Sometimes I despair of your ever leaving anything valid to complain about (sigh) 😎
As always, thanks for the great work and dry humor.
Haha sorry! I'll try to leave more things to complain about in the next video!
Wow! You move REALLY FAST when you get going!!! The Honky Tonk Bead Rolling music was nice!
As you were inserting that larger floor piece to make the second brake, I was shouting NOOOO!
Wish you would have shouted louder so I could hear you! Haha
I find it so rewarding watching other people work. It’s a great alternative to me actually doing things. Thanks!
Seriously though, love this project and can’t wait for even more custom
Haha thanks!
Hi , you just watch that new coat ...We don't want a repeat of the check coat fire LOL ... Seriously great work , always a pleasure to watch you at work ❤️ from the UK.
Sounds like you are channeling a little "This one time at Band Camp" and bob mackenzie.
Videos during middle of week ....hell yea
My favorite body of Chevy truck……nice work, you make it look easy and give hope to amateurs like myself !
What a hair-cut!
Nice watching show that has not been ruined by the big utube money. like building a big shop and all kinds of fancy stuff
Thanks, I like finding other ways to ruin the show haha
Ohh thanks for music during high speed time. Although I love your commentary!
Great job on the floor! I also appreciate the extra effort in editing in the music during the time lapse. Workplace tunes are an essential!
Thanks! I'm Glad you enjoy it!
I'm so jealous of your abilities - good results like that come from accurate measuring and cutting... If you saw my efforts, you would cry 😁😁
Thank you, it also helps that I can edit out most of the horrible mistakes!
CCS Chicken Truck….. Chopped, Channeled, Sectioned!
Looks a lot stronger than before! (Definitely would section b4 Chopping)
Great stuff, Adam!
Yeah I'm definitely leaning towards sectioning first!
This is the best youtube channel!
Wow thank you!
lmao you are so funny
cheers bro
Haha thanks!
Doesn't really matter what you do, the music has my tpes a tappin' you get a like for that.
I had to watch this one by myself. Joseph and Mary are out back somewhere chasing something. Joseph and Mary have populated the area with hounds over the years and they all howl as a team. I am so excited about this build. I think you may need a little more grinding in the next segment. I wouldn't let the new guy near a grinder. Something about him doesn't look right. Thanks for making this video for me. I really appreciate you helping me out.
Wish I would have read your warning before I let the new guy use a grinder...Lets just say we won't be seeing him again...
It's like I was there with you at the store! Except for the catastrophic balance failure.
The first store didn't have welding wire cause it was a bakery!
Hahaha! Now you tell me!
These videos make my day! Thanks for working so hard on them! 💜
I almost cried laughing from the emotional support braces joke 😂
Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to watch them!
Your buddy sounds like Bob and Doug McKenzie’s younger brother - not that is bad !!!
There is no doubt he is a canadian boy eh...@@TKM1951
Another satisfying video ... this is starting to get good now ... leave em wanting more ...
I feel déjà vu. Like I have seen this before. Maybe. Algorithm satisfied. Check.
that’s it, i’m submitting you to the hall of fame for floor making! looks decent.
House to myself, beer in the fridge and up pops my favourite youtuber = result👍👍👍
Haha nice! Thanks for watching!
You sound like Fred in the shed !
or Shack By The Tracks...
No cameras were harmed in the making of this video.
Maybe I’m bent in the head, but I like your humour. I speak sarcasm with a skoshe of whit, so you make me chuckle watching your videos. I’m sure looking forward to how this project evolves Kyle, but I’ve been watching all your content, and I’m quite sure it will be a stunner! Cheers!
Thanks, I'm glad you get a laugh out of my nonsense!
LOL! Whenever I want to hear new combinations of swear words I view a coldwarmotors video. I also get the darts, drugs, and alcohol usage as a bonus. ;-)
I learn something new every time i watch your videos. Thank you...!
Glad to hear that!
Interesting. I like how this channel could also just as easily be titled, "In the Mouth of Madness." The unique ability is so worth the watch.
So relatable about the wire. The welding gods clearly have a sense of humor.
Ain't that the truth! Haha
Best music of any channel! Perfect:-)
Hah, a new episode of my favorite car show “The Dadaistic car builder”! Keep those episodes coming please!
Thanks
Thank you George! That's very kind of you!
Great job getting that floor in. Just 700 more hours of work to go to get that rust bucket looking like a stronger rust bucket. Thanks for the video. Glad your cats are not on strike any longer. They add more comic relief to your video.
Better than new, nice work on the chicken coupe, You did not have much to start with, but I have faith that it will be nice when finished..
Nice Job! Very impressive! The drinking helps!
Yes it does!
Thanks for sharing Kyle,, 👍😎👍
Thanks for watching!!!

Thank you Kyle, I envy you, you get to live the life I can only dream of now. I'm dead from the waist down due to multiple sclerosis . don't ever take walking for granted, Bob.
Hi Bob, I appreciate you taking the time to watch these videos and I hope you'll enjoy what I've got planned for this truck!
Good job.
Always enjoy your humor. I like seeing how good your work is w basic tools.
Thank, I'm glad you enjoy it!
That looked real nice. But then, what would I know? Great stuff !!!
That floor turned out great congratulations
Thanks!
Always enjoy your work and sarcasm 😂
Looking good 🤙🤠👍
Thanks!
Honestly I would’ve done the same thing on the brake. I totally enjoyed the story time camera fiasco! Epic! The floor looks great!
Well done! I really enjoy your videos and admire your skill. This truck could have originally belonged to the Ontario Department of Highways as they used yellow Chev trucks of various sizes at that time for road maintenance. After a few years , they were sold at auction. Somehow,it appeared in Saskatchewan.
The politically correct phrase would be magic words not swear words. I know this because right after I say magic words every thing is much better " Magic" then if I were to say a swear word only thing that happens is another swear word followed by something flying through the air. You had me floored with this video Kyle great job
Hahaha thanks Joe!
Floor looks great, great workmanship.
Thank you!
Hey, Kyle: Just caught this one and I'm constantly amazed at what you've accomplished over several episodes.I know you sometimes refer to this truck as a piece of garbage, but what you've done in a short space of time is quite impressive.Well done, man!
Thank you Gregory!
Nice work Kyle, the floor looks real nice and strong. Looking forward to see your ideas come to fruition.
Thank you Ken!
The character you are playing in your video reminds me of Rick Moranis in the movie Great White North made back in the late 70's or early 80's! Lol .But the floor pan looks great!
This video just floored me 😂.
Seriously Kyle, it looks great and seems solid, nice job.
Thanks!
Agonizing brake trap, disappointing bead roller and marathon plug welding, man, what a video! Diggin' that bluesy sound track as well. King Porter Stomp, a #jazz standard that never gets old. Thanks, cheers! 😎👍🛻🎶🎵
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Looking fantabulous ! No matter how the rest of it turns out it's a sure bet that you won't fall through the floor . Your cat might even want to take a ride around the block in it . A+ for safety
I'm not sure about the cats, they don't like car rides!
@@CarterAutoRestyling maybe you could tempt the cats with catnip infused interior. It would start a new trend
That is a hell of a good looking floor!
Thanks!
Nice work Kyle
I think the floor turned out great. The 2x1 and not having to solid weld all the seams is definitely a nice time saver and actually makes it look more like a factory floor from my perspective.
Not an idiot , maybe a mad scientist ! 😂
LOVE the "player piano" music you included @ 18:55. I restored a 1920's pedal driven player piano a few years back and love the music. Those old instruments are like Jewelry with all of the tubing , valves, bsllows, levers, and SO MUCH CRAFTSMANSHIP !!! This very same music can be found in a "Building the Model A" video. Thank you. Obviously, LOVE your sheetmetal work including the "trapped" brake part !!! ;o)
That's awesome, everything used to be beautifully made! Oh how far we haven't come!
A mate of mine found a 1850's Packard reed organ on the side of the road (council cleanup) last week. It's in pretty good condition. It's the big one with the mirror and fancy scroll work in the timber.
Me and Earl were hauling chickens on a flatbed out of Wiggins...
Looks good to me.. But what do I know. I like to watch people cut stuff up.❤👍✌️ Cheers from 🇺🇲.
I reckon rivnuts might be your friend for the tranny tunnel cover. Thats what im replacing the speed nuts with on my 68 landrover. Partially because the right size speed nuts are a pain to get, but mainly cause they always end up rusty pieces of shit. Cheers! Thanks for the great content!
I've noticed I never run out of welding wire when I'm not using it. On my bead roller, I welded on a bent piece of round bar to make it a tool less operation. It really makes it less of a chore. Can't wait to see the chop and sectioning. This is about as rough as a truck as I've ever seen fixed. Good job.
Floor turned out great!
Good job on the floor.
Thanks!
New combinations, cluck cluck.
The floor looks great, very clean and with those ribs in it looks very strong. I love the quick bracing you make to sturdy everything up enough to start the floor. Now as far as the new guy even being nervous and camera shy and his first day, he looks like he may work out but. I’d keep an eye on him you know a dollar a day that’s a lot of money, and you don’t know what he’s going to spend all that money on. Ok later
That should be the your new slogan on all your merchandise !!! In big letters: “Sparks & Danger”…then in smaller letters under that “And Stuff”… and nice jacket sir !!! No holes !!! Lookin sharp !!! 💯
Haha sounds like a great merchandise slogan!
When in doubt, chop and bead roll it out! 👍
Another entertaining video. Floor turned out great and a lot cheaper than ordering one from the States. The difference in the money adds a lot to the overall cost, making it very expensive for the parts. Anticipating the cab mods in the next video.
Those 2 KITTIES really know how to ham it up for the camera !! They are truly HOLLYWOOD material indeed. Your work on the truck is also EXCEPTIONAL without a doubt and the trip to the store for welding wire was an added laugh when you left because you not suppose to talk to strangers !!!
Good video, very entertaining.
Looking great.
Insert: Mouldy old dough - Lieutenant pigeon song here.>-
That was me yesterday freaking out looking for the right socket to change a battery. It took me longer to find the tool that complete the process. TH-cam just interrupted with an add about poop. How appropriate given this video content. I will need all of these videos as reference when the '53 Dodge project gets underway. I hope I can retain my sense of humor like you do. Cheers!
99% of my day is spent in a frantic panic looking for tools. It's a struggle to maintain a sense of humor while working on this junk. Good luck!
My favourite episode of yours I’ve seen yet! Mig wire story was ridiculously funny!
Haha thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Entertaining and educational thanks for the video man .
Looking great Kyle! A lot of info on the Dreamtruck on the internet. I believe the website Customrama has the articles. I think Rod and Custom reprinted the articles for their 25th anniversary (circa 1992?). Think I still have a copy.😎
Not bad for your first project
I'll get it figured out eventually!
What did the carrot say to the mushroom? hey, you're a fungi (fun-guy). Hey, we really enjoy your content over and down a bit here in western Pennsylvania.
Haha! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the videos!
Your so car-humerus....... Lon from Ohio...
Looks good 👍,
Floor turned out great I’m looking forward to seeing you section and chop it .thanks for showing it
Thank you! I'm looking forward to the sectioning and chopping too!
This is fantastic Kyle. I’m really looking forward to your custom fabrications , really cool.
Don't be nervous, keep practicing and watching mad bad on TH-cam and eventually you too will be able to feck up restoeable classics and see the price of bondo skyrocket.
Great job on the floor, Kyle! After the section and chop, you know what would work great in the cab? That seat you pulled put of the ‘66 C10!!!
Always a comedian out there that has to bring back the seat trauma! Haha
