I prefer alcohol stoves. They take a bit longer, but they are quiet, light and fuel is easily available. If I want fast, I will stay home and use the hob. Something relaxing and satisfying about making a brew over an old fashioned Trangia.
I can see what mean, I like the fact they are lightweight and silent and the fuel is cheap and they sell it in loads of stores. I’m just not used to the wait lol 😂 I’m sure I will get used to it though and it will work in the cold when gas starts to freeze
Ive just got my first Trangia spirit burner...just sat and listened to the sounds of the bush. Sound drowned out by a noisy turbo gas job. You're out there to relax...what's the hurry 😂? Sit and whittle a few natural toggles. Cheers from Oz
Great mods mate. Is that a short back Bergen? I have a short back but want a long back so the belt is on my hips. I won’t be wearing webbing again 😂. Tip for your roll mat- put it inside the main pack and let it unroll itself and push it to the sides. Store kit inside the roll mat.

Looks like Bertha’s upgrades were absolute quality mate! I’ll definitely look into it when I get my bergen in. Agree on the fuel burner boil/cook times, very versatile arent they. Catch up soon bud 👍

Hi m8 I’ve bought the same shortback dpm and side pouches all brand new never used and sent mine to Dixie’s corner I had new arms, back pad,poncho pouch and 3 bottom pockets like yours love it and same as jay jays put together perfect can’t fault a thing and it just organises everything just perfect don’t it, not comfy those short backs but great for bushcraft, did you get the arms and back pad if not do it, lot better than standard ones
No I haven’t had the arms or back pad done yet but it is on my list. I can’t agree more about how good the bergan is for bushcraft! It’s amazing but like you said they aren’t the comfiest I’ve ever worn but my good you can get some kit in them. Thanks for watching Mick 👍🏻
Yes might have to buy a hide , I’ve got a reindeer hide in the house but the Mrs bought it me last year don’t think she be happy if it was used for camping 😂 I bet the R rating must be good on a sheep skin ?

Alright bud, about meths burners, when you're chilling in the woods it doesn't really matter wether it takes 3 mins or 5 mins for the water to boil, I swear by my Trangia, I chill till the waters hot, no bother, time is irrelevant when out n about 👌🏻👍🏻

All those type of saws should only cut on the pull. If they cut on the push and it locks up in the price of timber, hour hand slips along the handle, your common sense can fill in what happens next.
It looks like the Jayjays Beast Bergan alot. Just bought mine in November last year. Havent used it yet. But looking forward to it. Great video mate.
