I'm leaving another comment now that I've finally gotten to listen to this properly - you seriously outdid yourself.
You yet again captured the essence of Omori with the music and the visuals perfectly, all beautifully wrapped together in an incredible song. But this time, I can also feel your own emotions being poured into this. I can feel the anger and frustration when the beat speeds up, I can feel the regret and sadness in the slow beginning and end, and there's an undertone of acceptance throughout it all. It's been a while since a song has resonated with me enough to nearly bring me to tears.
This doesn't feel like any ordinary song. This feels like a testament to your own pain and suffering, the anthem of shattered dreams and broken promises. I just want you to know that you are seen and heard, your emotions are felt. I understand what you've been going through. I just want to reiterate something from my previous comment: don't give up. You may not have fame, you may not be able to turn this into a full time job, but please, don't forget that you are an incredibly skilled artist with the ability to touch hearts in a way many can only hope to achieve.
Keep creating just for the love of it. Don't lose sight of the passion and joy that started all of this.

you never failed as a youtuber, dont ever put yourself down. the expectations placed on creators and artists are honestly insane, just because one video popped off, and no other has to the same extent, doesnt mean youre living in the 'shadow' of that success. It is true that slop content has the potential to gain the favor of the algorithm, but Im tired of seeing people give up on their authenticity just for that chance, and have seen even that last ditch effort 'fail' to get views as well, then youll be left with only regret for giving up your passions for 'nothing'. It is true that for most yt channels, just making things how you want it isnt going to bring in the cash needed to sustain yourself, but if you give up on the joy of creating then youll find it wont ever be worth it. I dont rly have a solution but you can explore different creative options, and some people do take up a 'main job' and continue creating on the side, only switching to full time creation once it looks sustainable enough. Many people take years to carve out a niche that can sustain itself, but they do so while keeping their passion alive. So yeah, you're doing better than you think you are, and Im glad that youre still trying, dont give up on yourself

Three years... It's hard for me to even quantify how much has happened to me in this time.
Three years. In summer of 2021 had just gotten my first job- Omori was one of my first hyperfixations in years, and it gave me something to latch onto in-between my work shifts. I would listen to Fellow Phobia on my drive to work in the morning, and on my drive home. Not every day, but often enough I remember. When you announced your Tier List video, it was one of the few things I was looking forward to each day. I was so thrilled-! And I loved Omori so much, I LOVED its music, so to have someone with knowledge of music rank each of the songs and explain them was like Christmas early. I've always loved music, but I've never had a good grasp of it, and rarely have I been able to make anything myself. I'm not very good at playing instruments, and I found them too frustrating to learn.
Sure, fellow phobia had some unprecedented popularity, and it didn't magically secure your future as an artist and creator. I wish it had. But it helped me find you, and that was worth more than the song ever could be to me. When you made "You Say Sing" I was so happy- Wandersong was a game I adored for a while and never felt it got the recognition it deserved. I treasure that video too.
Made in abyss scares me. I avoid watching or reading about it because it unsettles me too much. But when you analyzed the sound track, even though I barely knew what you were talking about, I felt safe and comforted. Maybe it's strange to admit as some random viewer on the internet, but I really like the sound of your voice. Watching your videos is extremely relaxing to me, and they bring me comfort, even if that's not what you meant for them to do.
She Heals Everything was very difficult for me to follow. I'm not great with music as is, and some of the more poignent but complex points were probably lost on me. But I watched the whole thing, and I enjoyed it a lot!
Synthesis was an incredible artwork. It's not the kind of music I listen to normally, but your skill and ability speak to me beyond that. I still listened to the whole thing, I enjoyed it.
I am only one person, and I am sorry that I can't perpetuate your career just on my own. I wish I could- I would love to watch you make anything you want. But I understand if this isn't sustainable, or if this isn't something you can bear to throw yourself at anymore. Creating content online is hard, and often unrewarding.
Today you released Fellow Phobia Part Two. It is even better than the original, and it's deeply moving to me as someone who has listened to the original for three years. I turned my volume up higher than I have for any other song in a very long time. I am just one person, but I love this very much. I hope that, even as you continue your life and try to find your way, you have left an impression on some people that can't be erased. Maybe it isn't two million people, maybe it isn't even 12.9k, but there's a good chance that it's a lot more than just one. And each of those numbers feels a lot bigger if you remember every single "one" that adds up. I know it's not enough to pay the bills, but more than anything I hope to stress that you are no failure. This didn't work out, I won't disregard your feelings. I hope there ARE avenues out there for you to feel more fulfilled and that bring you more success. But I think you Are special. At the least, you are very special to one person. You left a very big impact on one person. You helped one person struggle through a shitty minimum wage job with brutal hours, and you helped one person stumble their way through their college semesters. You're helping one person graduate, and you've helped one person smile many more times than they can count.

Coming at this from the lens of an academic - you weaved two projects together (Omori OST and Fellow Phobia), and you turned it into its own unique identity with your own spins and our own identity, elements and quirks to make it something wholely unique from the other two pieces. While Fellow Phobia is the main scaffold here, with the Omori OST dotting it, you also include your own elements to the point where they majoritvely culminate into your own piece. While I'm not a musician and lack the know-how and terminology to accurately describe my case points sadly, from an empiricial, objective and scientific lens, this is your own piece and you deserved the success from this piece and your last piece (which everything I've said also applies to).

I don't rant passionately about youtubers too often, since its dangerous considering that people being cancelled left n' right.
But I can tell your passion for music is real, you were one of the first few that really got me thinking about the parts of a song that make it a whole.
Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't quit youtube if you really don't want to stay. TH-cam is unfair and cruel when it comes to it, always supporting their golden geese and no one else. However, reminders are important, and how much attention you get doesn't ever determine the worth of you or your sucesses. Be aware that even if you do leave, we will still give you support on whatever you plan to do.
And, to be honest, I haven't been watching your videos recently. But whenever I do I get remined of the quality you give to your work, and I applaud that.
Do what feels right for your life, and we'll be here if you choose to stay or come back :]

People have already said this, but TH-cam is very difficult to make a living from. It takes patience, trial and error, determination and originality. You may think you're not good enough, that you don't deserve the success from your first mashup, but first of all, it's a banger (both parts) and second, Your other videos are also great! My family honestly liked the most Synthesis and I agree it deserves way more recognition. Your videos about playing the OMORI OST by memory and the tier list were both great and we can hear your knowledge of music theory you share with us. Same with the video about fast learning the Hades OST (and btw your cover of Good Riddance is also one I love). Furthermore, I listened to Schrodinger's cat, and let me tell you in the time between this and your latest bangers, you have improved significantly. Just keep on trying and people will see you for what you're worth. They will see you as the great artist that you are.

It's so hard to really quantify how much has happened in these last couple years. I won't deny, I am guilty of not watching all of your recent videos, I've only watched a few, bit I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've seen, and Fellow Phobia was what introduced me to your channel. Please, don't put yourself down. I know it sucks to not succeed at what would be your dream job, trust me I know, becoming a full time youtuber is my dream job too.
But at the same time, we need to remember that the fame and money isn't everything. It would be awesome to make a living off of it, sure, but why would we even give it a shot in the first place, knowing how unstable this can be? We started simply for the joy of creating things. That's what we do, as artists. Please, don't forget that spark, that joy and passion that drove you to do it in the first place.
We're human, not machines. We can't please everyone, we can't hijack algorithms how we'd like all the time. Not everything will succeed. But frankly, I think that all of this pales in comparison to having a tightly knit, if small, community built upon the things we love. Our passion and creativity, overflowing emotions in a way we can only attempt to put on paper, into music, and into videos.
Please, don't view this as a failure. The numbers may not have grown much, but we have as people. You have. I have. We've all come so far and done so much in just a couple short years. And you have touched the hearts of many through your work.
Don't forget that. Nothing is greater for an artist than knowing your work genuinely touched people. Yours certainly did. Keep going, just for the sake of the love and passion you have for it all.

Although many villains live long enough to realize the value of being a hero,
It is good to end one's legacy as a hero. To have a garden one can spend eternity in. It would be sad to be a hero forever, for a hero only exists thanks to the presence of evil. It is a honor to know that a hero has completed its work. And heroism isn't always about killing evil people like the videogames tend to suggest, sometimes it's through writing a song about the world's troubles, or helping us stay in-tune with out horrors.
It is foolish to think that we could have explored earth forever, and it is foolish to have thought that it would be just as easy to explore space.
Thus, much like you, I've dreamed to retire, maybe stay in the background. To live as an individual, especially a human, is a painful fate: We're... made to consume first, and to create second, meaning that we're destined to end some day. To live, thinking that it's all about myself, like everyone attacked me into agreeing, is a sad fate, so I chose to live for others, and I chose to understand that I was always a part of everything that's living, not just a part of myself, and... many will keep attacking me for this belief; so, to them, I say that I'm considering to think of myself as an individual to this day. The world has become better off than it was before, thanks to many of the heroes of the world beneath the shadows, but a lot of our good was still done in a time of evil.
Personally, I think that I'm going to wait. I will protect the good, forgive the evil, without encouraging evil; and I will wait for the seeds of good to grow. We're forging a good world, but the next world isn't going to be the best world. The best world is going to come after, if that world will be fully made on good, with every heart being made of good; else, the good world project will be delayed again.
There is only one person who I wish to see this comment, and I don't wish the comment to be seen by anyone else, nor do I wish to be known for my name. I don't want to be liked by many people, but I do want the message to be acknowledged and protected. You can make a video about it; but even if you won't, I didn't want a video; again, all I wanted is for one person to see this comment.
Now... I wish that nobody mentions me or where my words come from again.

Listen, the algorith is unknowable. Many beg for it but at the end of the day we are at its mercy. Do not be discouraged by the views on this remake that you have poured your heart and soul into.
Rather, manage your expectations. Think to yourself, am I doing this as a hobby, or as a business?
It may sound morbid, but if you are treating it as a business, then you must catch the current trendy games or anything thats blowing up on the algorithm, see: stupendium or other nerdcore music producers. They ride the trend, but still put their passion and views into them, shaping the songs into something they are passionate about. Because at the end of the day, you would be doing this as a business 80% of the time, and a passion project as 20%.
On the other hand, if this is a hobby, then prioritise having fun doing it. Whats the point of moping about lack of views if the algorithm is random anyways? You should have fun with what you are making, even if it doesnt reach or resonate with everyone. This is _your_ music. _Your_ style and passion behind it. Its not business oriented and made to reach as many as possible, its not average enough for that. You can take pride in the fact that _this_ is the priduct of your labour.
Choose a direction, and do not be discouraged by the whims of the angry god that is the "Algorithm". This is coming from a youtuber with more experience and subs, so please, have fun with youtube. It will be a slog otherwise. Wish you luck!

I know that this will not mean much on the internet, but please don't put yourself down, TH-cam's algorithm is unpredictable and trend-based. Even the most high-effort content can fly under the radar just as much as the most low-effort content can somehow get millions of views in one day simply because it was in the right place at the right time.
Please do not stop doing what you love, that is all I can really say. If you like what you are doing you should not just give up on it simply because it can not bring you success.

You single-handedly got me into Porter Robinson, and for that I am forever grateful. He is now one of, if not my single, favorite artist now, and I’m even seeing him in concert in two weeks. Insane how the world works like that, lol. Don’t give up man, keep making the shit you like and shit that you yourself enjoy making, the stuff that makes you feel proud of yourself. You know, I think I understand what you went through. Oversharing rant here, because why not. Maybe my experience will mean something to someone.
In... What? 2020? I started writing. It started slow, but somehow I wrote something that got the attention of people in a non-alghoritmic site. It was fanfiction, which meant most ideas weren't even mine, but I managed to mix them in a way that people really liked, and I've received praise over.
At 2021, I thought I could try to see if I could make money off of it, there was a subreddit I knew that was based on writing and had writers fund their projects via patreon.
I never even got around to it. I burnt myself on my pre-existing projects, and couldn't even get chapters out for months. I even considered avenues such as doing NSFW work to see if I could turn a good profit, but, again, never got around to it.
I listened to your original work around that time, I think. It gave me hope, a hope for finding my place in this world, of finding something special. A hope I would cling to for a good while.
That hope followed me into 2024, as life went on with nothing happening. Nothing, nothing, nothing.
Near the end of march, I realized that was a vain hope. Reality kicked in, so to speak.
In May, I attempted to take my own life.
Obviously, I failed. As usual, I made a plan and couldn't follow through properly. I think that, out of all the things I've planned to do in my entire life, that is the one that made it the furthest, even though I neglected to take a "plan b" as I planned to do, and got intercepted by an attempt on my life which I successfully thwarted. Hilarious, isn't it? I just found myself on a not-high-enough cliff, my eyes scanning the bushes for threats, thinking absently that it was cold and that I wanted to get home.
I learned a lot about human conscioussness that day, how the will to live worked. How insignificant the consious part of our consciousses are, and just how easily their determination can be overriden by something as simple as the fight or flight instinct.
I thought I was special, but was proven wrong, twice. I went there, not with emotional agony, but with calculating logic and the want to do what is best for myself. A traumatized family(myself excluded) and two therapists is what I got for my trouble.
I don't want any well-wishes, to be clear. I'm not to here to fish for sympathy. It has never done me any good, and I doubt it ever will, so keep them to yourself, the most it'll do is make me scoff or laugh.
But yeah, I've learnt that, more often than not, *way* more often than not, you're simply not special. If something is too good to be true, it almost always is. I personally just say that if something is too good to be true than it is.
My personal opinion, that you should take with several grains of salt because they come from someone with nothing to lose and nothing to gain in life, is to continue youtube as a hobby unless you make it to the point where your average video is more than enough for you to live on. You shouldn't abandon your passions, because they are what makes life worth living, but expecting them to get you somewhere is simply naive as you've said. Some people aren't punished for that naivetey, but for every person that makes it, a million don't. Make yearly videos born of your passion, I know sure as hell that I've kept my own audiance waiting for long.
If you want recommandations on what to do, you could broaden your horizons. Seek new music and try to go with anything interesting you can make. This song *is* something special, but because it came from two very special things, mixed in just the right way(Which, I congragulate you for). There are more songs out there that could use this treatment, for example Sayo-nara(DDLC, a game for which you do NOT want to spoil yourself) and Fallen down(Undertale) are two songs with insane feels, that are just waiting to be mixed with something else that'll add to their original feels. That's what being a "special" content creator is all about, finding things that sing to people and improving on them. The themes, or souls if you wanna be fancy, of a work is what makes it special.
Best of luck, not only to you, but to everyone else who for some reason has read all this. You people have an use for it. Good day.

Never gonna forget the memory of sitting on the stairway in my friends house drunk watching part 2 of your omori music tierlist. You really mightve indirectly saved my skin there ngl cause I was so fixated on the video.
Anyway ur videos are fire 🔥 don’t put yourself down this website simply is built wrong

First of all, never let failure put the fire inside your heart out. It's already a known fact that it's hard to succeed as a content creator (youtuber), or in the creative field (artist, musician etc).
As for suggestions, if i wanted to gain traction as a youtuber i'd also upload some interesting shorts every week.
Also, since you are a musician, i think people would be interested to see new videos of you, reviewing the OST's of the other games as well. There are many great titles out there! Your focus don't have to be OMORI. Explore ideas. Lionmight's channel does that well i think. You could be exploring rythm games in a stream and discuss how they could be better etc. The thing is, you can still choose the content you want to create and also choose a trendy topic. Uploading more videos is crucial for growth but i know you like making quality content and maybe you don't have a lot of time for the channel so perhaps you'd need to balance that somehow. Welp. I wanted to be a game dev and i published a lil game for the first time just recently but im in the end of my young adult years and have many regrets and fails as well. In the face of everything, i was able to make something and im proud that i tried. Never let the fire of creativity inside your heart out!

I just so happened to be combing through my old playlists for songs I used to listen to and the original version of this was one of those songs. I was listening to it and looked at your channel just to find this version instead and now that I've listened to the entire thing, I want to thank you for making it. And I would hope that you'd see the mashup you've made here and recognize it as the testament of how far you've come. From the version of me that first listened to that original song, I also feel like I've stagnated. But I see this video as a sign of hope. I hope you continue to do what makes you happy and proud, and to redefine what success means to you. I think you've succeeded and will continue to succeed. This song here is a sign of that!

Hey i've read your description, makes me feel sad for you, you are great and makes great content i really look forward for any new vids i really hope you like what you are doing in general but if you don't, well, just do what you want, you don't have to live through the expectations of youtube and your follower just do what you want i'll still be here to check those videos of yours, i like them, really, i especially like those OST tier list were decorticate the notes and the tones of them i find them so passionate that i love them.
By the way this version really changes a lot and makes it even greater and even if you takes inspirations and takes some musics from other media than yours it doesn't change anything this stays great, i understand the feeling of "being not original" but really it is great. You worked for it and earned a lot of credit for making these songs.
Remember that you have a community that will follow you on what You wanna do, not what youtube wants you to do.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that it's been hard for you. And I know that getting consistent viewership makes a difference as to whether you could make a living out of this and all... But please, don't ever equate your self-worth to arbitrary numbers. The truth is, this TH-cam thing is a game of chance as much as it is about what you put out there. It's mostly luck that determines if you'll be in just the right time and place for the algorithm to put you in a positive feedback loop. And in my opinion, it's silly to think less of yourself because the roll of the dice hasn't really been favorable to you (yet).
And since you have little control over that part... Focus instead on making what feels right to you. What you can be proud of. In the end, that'll not only make you feel better about yourself and help you keep going, it'll also make you someone people will remember. (Case in point: it's been at least a year since I saw your older videos, but I still recalled who you were quite quickly! "Oh, it's that guy!") You can't out-slop the slop content channels. What you _can_ do is offer something that only you could make. Ask yourself if you like making stuff to post on this website. If yes, then that's reason enough to keep going. If no... Then try something different. Until you hit upon something that does work for you.
I don't know, I'm rambling and it's not like I'm talking from personal experience here, but either way, I'm rooting for you.

you have been such an important content creator for me, and i genuinely think you need to make content for passion instead of popularity, just like this track. thank you for existing, and happy 10th anniversary to worlds

i feel like this song would play in a game idk what it is about but it would be the final boss fight, it would be like Undertale's Asriel Dreemurr boss fight, where you have to recover your friend's memories. 4:49 would be perfect for that part, seeing all of your friend's memories being recovered while also dealing massive damage to the boss.
