    Great recommendation on the audio assault! I just downloaded a bunch of it

      They make great stuff and the prices are almost too low to not get at least a few plug-ins!

    When I was a clueless kid (in the 80s) playing guitar in my bedroom in isolation, I often complained how thin and crappy the presents in my multi FX units were. I now, many years later, realize that they were tailored to work well in a band or mix context, where you don’t need or want full spectrum patches. I love choice with all the amp sims I now have, but have felt too many options is a diversion of musical energy, looking for the perfect tone.

    I just wanted to say this is a great video! It has a little of everything. Quick demos and tons of information and spot on opinions. I love tech and gadgets so I'm a sucker for all this stuff... I say the market is flooded and it plays right into my Pokémon ocd gotta catch em all!

      Thanks man! The more the merrier for sure. I think it is the rapid development of this stuff that is making these products better over time! I also own more than I need, but I probably will still get more.

    MLC inspired me so much Can't tell why, but it FEELS really good.

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seriously. I loved the ampknob stuff, but this MLC is an amp I have never really paid much attention to, but it has a great natural response and just a little bit of extra to make it a bit more mix ready. It doesn’t sound like the 5150, definitely not a Mesa, it kind of reminds me of if a Marshall and an ENGL had a kid!

      100% agreed on this. It's raw and full of harmonics, feels amazing to jam through even on low gain settings. Seriously flexible. I've tried about ten external boost plugins and some real hardware pedals and it took them all quite well and added their own flavor. Now I just want the real MLC amp head haha

    To this day I haven't needed any of it and even though it's getting more and more, it's only getting less interesting for me. I play an Engl Victor Smolski, a Fender redknob twin and a Marshall Artist head with a matching box. I just don't need anything else.

      I resisted going the software route for a while. It just became too easy to do home recording once I did get my first plug-in, I only own tube amps in real life, and I still like mic’ing up cabs in reamping most of the time, if I feel like doing all the set up!

    I don't think we'll be oversaturated with ampsims until there's 6505 6505 models. We're about half way there I think lol.

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We need to start seeing sims based on the 5150/6505 manufactured from each month of production. There’s got to be a sweet spot based on the time of day the tubes were installed and the ambient temperature of the factory when the circuit board was printed! Ha ha!

    I think it’s overwhelming. There are so many good companies doing a great job it’s kept me from getting into them. I’m not even resisting anymore, I just don’t know which brand. Because I know that they’re all doing it well.

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. I can recommend Bogren at the higher end price point for sure. And, I would say you should at least have one Neural DSP amp. Probably the Gojira! Everything else just demo the product and see if you jive with it!

    Cool video! N.A.M all the way.
    The other company's could be bottling up N.A.M profiles and selling them as ampmsims 😂 and vice versa.....no one will ever know....

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are many NAM captures, yours included, that would give any paid for plug-in a run for its money! I am just curious where this all will end up pushing the technology. We have the quality, but companies need to innovate to stay ahead of the curve.

    • @wafflemanofficial3130
      @wafflemanofficial3130 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm surprised it's not that popular. The only disadvantage is it's a capture of the tone the poster set their amp to, you can't tweak it in the same way you'd tweak the real thing. But it's fucking free, you play the real amp and people post all sorts of stuff, from vintage to modern, amp sounds you cannot find from Neural DSP or Amplitube. Modern sims bring everything you want for a modern sound but jackshit if you want something older like a 90s death metal sound. I sound like Suffocation thanks to NAM, no Neural plugin could help me with that.

  • @ScarredPredator
    @ScarredPredator ปีที่แล้ว

    The tone you got on the califier was nuts! Did you use a stock IR?

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a mix of two of the stock IRs that are preloaded into the amp locker (not the 3D cab/mics). The Cali412OSGNM-BBM75 and the Sigma412-DV77. The mix is slightly more toward the DV77 cab. 808 TS Pedal is upfront, level maxxed, OD down, and tone nearly all the way up.

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ScarredPredator yeah. Using the built in green 808 pedal. Full level, no OD, and tone almost all the way up.

    I tried using my ToneX as just an IR loader with a couple of different preamp pedals, and was REALLY surprised by how good it actually sounded.
    Ultimately, it's whatever works for you I guess, right?

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio
      @BaritoneGoatStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty much. I like to experiment. And I love companies that give you a 14day trial period. Even plug-ins that I didn’t jive with the first couple days I ended up stumbling upon tones that I really liked after a few more days. I have found that I rally like using my Tonex as a preamp pedal into the return of my Marshall combo.

    • @harryanderson7282
      @harryanderson7282 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaritoneGoatStudio That said... I don't think it's so much a point now about the preamp emulation, but in the expanding of IR technology that's going to be the next big thing.

    I didn't spend 25 years collecting gear to set up my studio, just to plug in to some amp Sim to record,the digital age doesn't impress me one bit, I still like a live set up, I've never found a sim I've liked, something is always missing, and I can hear a difference,I would hate to have to depend on a plug in to get my sound, I can find it all in my wall of amps. 😅

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio

    • @BaritoneGoatStudio

      The amount puns that could be born out of the concept of market saturation and high gain stuff is endless. The chugin plug-in would be a worthwhile project I think.
