- Wii Sports is a game I poured hours into during my childhood. But, after over 16 years, does the game still hold up, is it actually good? Well, let’s find out!

I did not grow up with it, I had an xbox 360, with kinect, but we got a wii u now, and enjoyed a lot when I played it a while ago

I think something that made wii sports so huge was it encouraged you to play with friends and family. My parents don’t play video games but the only time in my life I can remember them playing with me was on wii sports. It holds a spot in my heart for that

Yeah...But other than Boxing and Swordplay...He really sucks at all the rest of sports lmao. An incredible overrated character, since a lot of CPU miis are WAY better than him
I like how they created the character of Matt for this game instead of just making your trainer Doc from Punch Out or something like that. As much as I enjoy the Mario sports games, it was nice that Wii Sports was allowed to have its own identity instead of relying on existing IP.

Peace be upon you Mariomikester! :] Wii Sports is almost as old as me, and I can happily say Wii Bowling (and baseball!) in particular is a masterpiece, and part of the reason I actually love bowling with friends and family in real life! :D Being able to use one wii remote (remember batteries god almighty )for the whole family was amazing. I loved seeing the miis i made just chilling in the background and I honestly miss having miis appear in games’ background like Mario Kart Wii. I Wish the Switch could bring back that intimacy. Anyway, Golf. Golf was awful though. Maybe I’m bias cuz Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is one of my favorite games ever. Also THANK YOU REGGIE!!! I would have never played this masterpiece if I had to pay for it cuz at the time being a child i would have never given a game without Mario or sonic or Pikachu on the cover a chance. Wii Sports is legit my childhood. I remember the first time I played this game was at my friends house years ago, and when I got my Wii back then, this and Resort were the very first Wii games I played back in the day. This was a very charming experience and I prefer this better than Nintendo Switch Sports. I will always have the amazing memories I have with this game. It holds a special place in my heart. I really like these retrospectives that you do and I find them very enjoyable to watch. You should do more in the future, keep up the great work! 👍 😊

Wii Sports was simply iconic. I would play it with my family and friends for hours and for such a small game it's incredible how it kept our attention for so long. Just the menu music alone is nostalgic as hell.

We had a wii at the after school day care. We were alway playing wii sports
I bought a wii from an estate sale for $75 that had the wii Sport bundle and 2 controllers. I play more on the wii than I do with my switch. I also bought resort cause I had it as a kid. My step dad never had a wii as a kid. He only had a NES, psp, and ps2. Since he's a big sports guy, I thought he would've liked wii sports. He genuinely really enjoys playing it. Boxing really tires you out 😅 idk how I got such a big score back when I was a kid.
Sad that this is doing poorly. I wish more people could see this video, showing how good wii sports is
0:35 my wii actually didn't come with wii sports. it came with mario kart wii and wii sports resort, and therefore wii sports resort is more nostalgic to me.

Best retrospective channel and most underrated
Looks like we have different tastes! I love the entirety of baseball and don't have much fun with golf at all, only playing it occasionally. It's nice that this game can appeal to different types of players. Do you plan on making a video on Wii Sports Resort? This video was absolutely excellent.

I bet other people get the same feelings I get from PvZ with this game. I’ve played it like 16 times and every time I hear every song it all floods back to me. I remember playing Wii Sports as a young ‘un, although I didn’t play it much because I had a Wii U and there were better things to play. So I’m not very nostalgic for it. Although I don’t get why people hate Miis. There’s nothing wrong with them, and they aren’t outdated or anything. Whatever though.
Also, it tanked probably because lots of people have put out positive opinions on this game. Wii Play & Motion would do better.
How did you get this resolution/quality out of the Wii? I love playing Wii games but the super low resolution is annoying.

I believe these are clips from wii sports club for the wii U. It was a remastered version of the original wii sports.

Wii Sports was such an awesome game and Resort was even better. Sucks that Nintendo Switch Sports was such a disappointment. When they announced it at the direct I thought it was a port of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Seeing that it was a new game with only 6 sports was the most disappointing part of that direct for me

This is a hot take, but I never really understood the hype for Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. They weren't all interesting to me. When I had a Wii, I rarely played them. Go Vacation was way more enjoyable imo. It just feels like people heavily praise those two because they're first-party Nintendo games. Pac-Man Party, Mysims Party, and Disney Channel All-Star Party were also more fun than Mario Party 8 and 9.
I never liked this game much, it was very boring to me, I was very disappointed that I had just this for some time before getting anything else. Still it was interesting to see your perspective, what you see in this game that I didn't see.

Imo, it’s not a good game. The individual games have a low skill ceiling. You basically just flail your hand around and don’t do anything close to the actual movements in the real versions of the sports. Motion controls in general is just for casuals.
