  • In this video, we're going to take a look at what made the Wii so special and why it was such a success. We'll explore the games that were released for the Wii like Wii Sports and Super Mario Galaxy, the features that set it apart from other gaming systems, and why it was such a popular console, even for people who had never played a video game in their life. This is my Wii retrospective

I went from N64 to the Wii and DS in 2008. My 10 year old self thought I had reached peak high-tech gaming (I didn't understand the Xbox or ps3 side of things). Alongside the N64, those consoles shaped my late childhood beautifully

Xbox and Ps3 were mainly for those that couldn't afford a proper Gaming pc which the point of these 2 consoles were for budget reasons where just like pc you can handle a lot of games. The problem with Nintendo is that you have to buy their consoles in order to play their games only and only in their consoles.

I loved the Wii way too much growing up. I always remembered my little brother, one of my friends who lived across the street, and I would play Wii Sports a lot. Then there was my brother, my father, and I trying to beat Smash Bros' story mode.
I'm gonna miss those good old times. Times I wish I could relive again and again.

For me, my favorite experience with the Wii was definitely playing Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time. It was just so magical, seeing all of my favorite Non-Nintendo/ Nintendo characters all in one game interacting with each other.

My favourite feature of the Wii is how easy it is to mod the system. You can get homebrew running on your Wii in just minutes nowadays and there are so many really cool stuff you can do with a hacked console.

Playing wii sport resort with my big sis and my grandma for the whole afternoon during summer holidays is one of my best childhood memories. And play Mario galaxy 2 with my sis(I was the 2p unfortunately but later I mastered the game and got all 242 stars.) is also one of the best gaming experience I have ever had. Now my Wii is dead and I could only play skyward sword and mario galaxy on switch, but it doesn’t feel the same. Wii is the best of my childhood.

One of my favorite consoles of all-time. So many great memories. Zelda: Twilight Princess at launch, Super Paper Mario not long after. All the retro and WiiWare games. For me the list of awesome experiences is long. Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, No More Heroes 1-2, MadWorld, Metroid Prime 3, The Last Story, a surprisingly good remake of GoldenEye, DKC, Xenoblade, Sin & Punishment Star Successor, Monster Hunter Tri, Klonoa, Punch-Out!!, Wii Sports and Sports Resort, Wario Land Shake It, the best version of Resident Evil 4 due to motion controls and a couple very fun RE Chronicles games.
In terms of just ranking Nintendo systems, I'd have it third behind only SNES and Switch and a lot of what I love about Switch can be traced back to ideas and concepts from the Wii/DS era. It was a tremendous time to be a Nintendo fan.

After wii party and wii sports i got mario party 8 and 9, wii sports resort, mario galaxy 1 and 2 (mario galaxy 1 is my favourite game of all time) and so much more. Found your channel looking for a video of MK Double Dash nostalgia I had and halfway to the video I suscribe, next came to this video because I LOVE the Wii. I was still living in Puerto Rico at the time and went to its midnight launch with my 3 year old daughter ( I still have a picture I took of her next to a link standee at my local Game Stop. Some times I would just spend over an hour in the weather channel just looking at different parts of the world or watching Nintendo week or sending messages to my friends (even when we could just text or use Facebook 😂) but it was different and it was fun to us. To me it was an amazing time the Wii era.

I think I was around- (Jesus Christ I started REALLY young)
1 or 2 years old when I first started playing the Wii, yea I was an early bird but I didn’t really know what it was.
Roughly 4 years of age and I just treated it like your average console (not until when I watched this video that I realized motion controls were really new when it was released) and I was also growing up with a DS at the time too!
Around 7 years later and I became obsessed, I didn’t have one at the place I lived at (It resides with my nan) but I was pretty much watching videos of Mario Party’s 8&9, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Party and basically every good game on the console! About 3-4 years before I owned a Wii U which reintroduced the motion control thingy but with 2 different screens (Gamepad and TV/Monitor) and I enjoyed that as well even if it flopped because of how similar it felt to the console before, just with a different way to how it was tackled!
Fast forward to today and I’m revising these games, I become nostalgic looking at them! I went over some MKW videos and learned how beautifully broken it truly is (hence why it’s so loved) and I even have Mario Galaxy on my switch (It was released for the 35th anniversary for Nintendo) and even though I never played it before that I could see why it would be nostalgic!
An experiment from 2006 that changed gaming forever…

In my childhood I didn't have The Wii which I wish I had but still DSI and WiiU. WiiU is kinda similar to Wii it just had some better graphics and more games but the sad thing was that it didn't have Wii sports. I remember when I was little watching these Mario party or Mario 2d or 3d games also the Wii sports and wished I had but I didn't and I'm still sad till this day I haven't gotten the experience of these games. Although DSI was a great memory with Sonic, Transformers and some other games but I really wanted Those Mario games

I remember being weirded out by the look of classic controllers like the PS4’s and the XBOX’s because i grew up on the wii and i was so used to how it worked.
I was never allowed to do online stuff as a kid but playing Wii Sports Resort and other games with my brother and sister are some of my fondest memories. These videos aren’t sad in any way but they always make me choke up a little bit. I’m a sucker for nostalgia ig. I miss that time, everything was so simple.
