    In my opinion the bigest disadvantage of consulting is lack of work and life balance. When I worked in consulting firm I felt like I was a slave because of 12h working days.

      That’s how I feel now 😭 And sometimes the days can be 16/18 hours

      Thanks for sharing this! I was considering going into consulting but I realized it's not for me. I work 40 hrs per week & that's still too much for me lol

      @@OiVinn-eq1ml Hello! Since the time I wrote the comment I have shifted to another consulting firm. Everything is much better know (nobody call me in 12 pm). My new opinion would be that if someone wants to work in the consulting but do not want to overwork it is more than real. If I have managed to find such place in my country than it is definitely possible somewhere with a bigger market like in US.

      @@ne_alexa Thanks for the update! It’s great some people get to live the life of consulting. Glad it worked out 🙂

      same for investment banking but many just get the 2 or 3 years of experience under their belt then go on to other things @@schoolinwithsig5438

    My first year as Consultant so good video / ideas to keep in mind. I agree in regards to HIGH ambiguity which leads to a bit more anxiety tbh.

    That was a very interesting video,. I loved it; thanks for posting. I just want to highlight that I love the way you explain your point of view, very clear and easy "to digest". Take care and keep healthy. Greetings from Italy

    I honestly plan to stay for 3-4 years prior to switching to a big tech company (after having them as a client).

    Do you have a great number of coworkers who are ESL? :)

    Does travel still impact you even though hybrid working has been embraced? When you travel, do you stay away from home for a long time?

    • @bykchoi
      @bykchoi  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I still don’t travel nearly as much as I used to, but some clients are starting to have us travel to meet them in-person again. For me, it’s always just 1-2 days because I usually just go for a half-day to full day meeting (instead of being on-site Monday-Friday) so I’m never away from home for too long. Before COVID, i would sometimes have multiple client meetings in one week and have to travel to different places right after one another - that’s when I would be away from home for a longer period of time.

      @@bykchoi thanks for responding. I've been watching your videos and they provide a balanced insight into the world of consulting... So thank you 💖
      I definitely don't have a fixed specialism so the varied projects intrigues me, I love being client facing (as long as they're respectful and clear in communicating their needs), I love to travel and I like collecting points...
      My love life is in the toilet so I'm not worried about that lol. I'm just debating whether I should start off supporting small orgs/start ups and then possibly enter one of the big 4. 🤔 Anyway... Thanks again 🙂
