just discovered your channel and love your videos! i had no previous knowledge of what consulting was so also been very helpful :) re: IT consulting, don't big enough companies have those resources in-house with their business development / project/product departments? do big companies (not just the giants but "not medium sized") still hire consulting firms for their IT needs? Keep up the amazing work!!
Often people might have in-house people but they hire consultants because the company might not have enough resources internally!

for example if i own a restaurant and business is not going well , can i get help from a consultant company to attract more customers ?
You might do more around marketing or branding if you’re trying to attract more customers! But if you needed help with your expansion strategy or food supply chain or something you might get a business consultant to help.

Whats the type of consultancy which involves traveling to other countries?
If I have a degree in Management Information Systems, would that be able to let me gain experience in any form of consulting, including HR consulting?
Your degree is closer to tech so that might help with IT consulting
What about sustainability consulting? Im an Sustainability analyst in a tradicional company, but in order to grow im searching for a consulting job, but no idea where to begin..
Deloitte Australia has a Sustainability consulting arm. I'm not sure if other offices have this too, but Big4 would be a great place to start looking!
@@mishwsl sure, thanks for the info! The thing with big 4 is that you can't really choose on what to work when in a junior or medium position, which would be my case. So I was wondering what were the specific sustainability consulting references

I have a video on 10 skills you need to be a consultant! There aren’t really any certifications you need to get started. It’s more about work experience (whether it’s in consulting itself or something else that’s transferable).

nothing on communications consulting? i assumed you would do some coms coming from a pr role. reputation management, branding, alot of it can overlap with management.
that's more in the marketing communications field vs. business consulting! I used to work in PR but don't do much in that field anymore.

at my firm everybody is basically remote now (even though we have offices)! all depends so i can't say for all consulting jobs.

Did you find your transition into change management stressful given your undergrad background? Or did you find your masters prepared you well? I'm a political science major currently but I'm really considering transitioning.
Not really! I already had work experience that was really applicable (project management, working with clients, etc). Obviously I had to learn some new things and the company culture but my background didn’t really feel like a hinderance to that :)
For consulting management to work which degree you need
Many people have business degrees but it doesn’t really matter what subject you studied - it’s more about your work experience and interview.
