Very interesting! Would love to see a series on people that get high profile job despite having learning disability or handicap! I would also like to see a trader day to day.
Thanks a lots for your awesome work!

As someone going through the process now, I’d say Big 4 and other big names (not including MBB bc I’m just not sure what their starting salary is though i think they’re at 90-100k from what I read in the news recently) for fresh out of undergrad in middle and high cost of living (MCOL and HCOL) areas is around 80-90k now, including sign on bonuses. Mid size firms range is much wider, 70-90k. Again, this is more for MCOL and HCOL cities, so it definitely varies in other states and cities.

USA, specifically California! But I also graduated from undergrad in 2013 so I'm sure the starting salary has changed and still differs by company and geography :)

How are they working as a consultant fresh out of college (making $60K)? I thought they were experts in a specific field? People are not experts coming out of college with zero work experience.

Most consulting jobs start out as something closer to a salaried apprenticeship for at least the first year or so from what I've seen, where your work is being directly supervised and you're getting lots of feedback (in addition to attending trainings, getting exposure to the various departments, etc). You'll usually have a dedicated mentor from the senior staff working with you as well, who helps you learn the norms of the company and find your path within it. These firms bring in tons of very smart new grads each year and as a result, their in-house training programs are pretty extensive and the procedures have been honed over decades of refinement.
