Yes, Avi is great. Tim is great. It seems to me, though, that Avi joins Tim on the low G2 at the end of the song. Either that, or the sound engineer made it sound that way. Listen carefully at 6:25.

Hi Rebecca!! 😊 Avi left Pentatonix at the end of 2017. He just released a new song, on March 22. Look for "Avi Kaplan - Change On The Rise (Official Video)". He does all the vocals including the bassline. Well, obviously... so I think it would be interesting. He has a beautiful voice - Have a lovely day!

Rebecca, did you by chance notice that Tim Foust, the bass singer of Home Free has an extraordinary vocal range!?! He can easily cover a full 5 octaves or possibly slightly more! And he never expresses any strain, weaknesses or shakiness and is completely at ease in each range! You should review some of the compilation videos that exhibit his full range! It’s a talent that is a joy to experience!

  • @epiphany519

Thanks for reacting to another Home Free song. You know there are several others that beg for your attention of course including Man of Constant Sorrow, Helplessly Hoping, The Butts Remix (if you ever have a bad day, this will make you laugh), Mayday (you want to have your mind blown, Tim, the man who hit the massive bass note at the end of this does higher tenor and another singer in Home Free does bass. Tim has a five octave range, the other singer (Adam Chance, known as Chance) has a 4 octave range in Home Free. Also, of course, End of the Road, How Great Thou Art, In The Blood and pretty much everything else they've ever done.
You can also find video's of Tim's range (Tim Foust) and Adam Rupps beat boxing as separate items on youtube. Tim has blown out sound systems hitting things like A0. Yeah, A0 LIVE. Practically goes subsonic and you just feel vibration on some things. His higher range is beautiful too.
I've seen them live. It's the same thing. While they do use a vocal looping system to help fill things in somewhat (by that I mean a person lays down say a percussion line and then is free to do other things with their voice while the looper continues the percussion) many of the tracks are just the five of them singing. Helplessly Hoping and How Great Thou Art there is ZERO Beat Boxing but tons of amazing harmony.
While I'd love to see reactions to everything honestly I just want you to enjoy true masters of their craft. Oh and if you haven't seen it yet Chris Stapleton (and his wife Morgan) singing I Was Wrong is another one of those "I've been hit with a two by four to the face" moments sonically. I know you had a religious experience with his Tennessee Whiskey rendition (and that was his wife Morgan singing with him as well, the looks between them, you know there is love there (and four kids (lol)).

As a bass vocalist myself, I find it hard to listen to any music that doesn't have a good bass line. I can empathize with your fascination as I have had this since I was 12 years old and saw JD Sumner live and felt the room shake with his bottomless notes. Home free has many other very well done songs that feature super low notes and amazing harmonies. I can recommend 2 that blow my mind, not for the low notes but for the harmonies: "Yours" and "I can't out run you". My thanks and Subscription, have fun!

Yes, Avi is a fantastic Bass, , but Tim Foust, , , I am told he hit that last note a G1. So low, so smooth and even. . Tim Foust.

RVA It's taken me a long time to watch this clip of you reacting to Home Free's -Ring of Fire.
I felt the need to tell you how much I appreciate the amazing amount & range of music you have reacted to & I'm excited to see what other artists you're going to discover & when??
You have a very warm personality, very funny & silly @ times but sincere too .
Personally you've lifted my spirits, when I've felt low, just by you being U! Thanks Rebecca,
P.S. Your top looks beautifully luxurious & soft & the colour, wow, it compliments your hair so well. It's gorgeous with darker hair.

That last note has been identified by an opera singer as a G1. But he can go lower. The amazing thing to me is how long he held it.

I know I have heard him nail an Eb1. I wouldn't be surprised if he could hit C.

I asked Tim before they played locally (VIP tickets) and he said he can go as low as the human ear can hear. He said it casually, but hearing it in concert is truely amazing.

If I missed it I apologize. I think you missed the bass parts.
This was a "duo" baritone soli. While one took lead, the other did the bass part.
The last note wasn't Avi, you clearly see in the video it was Tim Foust from 'Home Free'.
It was their song they used on the competition show 'Sing Off'. It was Foust helped them with 'that' low note you heard. He was their secret weapon helped win with his skill and, sexy charisma.
