WhenHome Free performed this on the Sing Off I knew they would win the show . They are fantastic! They do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. They will make you dance, cry and fall out of your seat laughing and are genuinely good people. Tim, the base, has a 5+ octave range and Adam, the beatboxer, can't be beat. They can all beatbox to some degree. Just subscribed in hopes for more Home Free reactions.

Avi Kaplan is the second soloist, wearing a beanie cap.
He is classified as a true basso profundo. He is classically trained and left Pentatonix in 2017 after 6 years with the group.
He is now a solo artist, writing and performing his own songs.

Congrats! You've found Home Free, the second pillar of the Acapella Triumvirate, the first being Pentatonix. Home Free are the "country boys" of acapella, even though they can do any genre.
The third pillar is VoicePlay, the "theater kids" of acapella. "Hoist The Colours," "Valhalla Calling," "Nothing Else Matter" are good starting places for them.
Keep on keepin' on, young lady!

Welcome to the fabulous world of Home Free. This song is done in a country reggae beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion. Home Free is doing a 10 year anniversary album of all the songs they did on the "Sing Off". They just released another updated version of "Ring Of Fire".

Tim Foust of Home Free did the last note. He has amazing range, 5 octaves. When HF was on the NBC show the Sing Off (the won in 2013) the judges told them to change up the song and they gave it a reggae beat. Tim went even lower on the Sing Off version. Avi is independent now. Love Home Free. They are country but sing all genres of music. Three of them are also songwriters so they have great originals too.

Get ready. Home Free is a real ride. They do everything, and all of it their version but great. Pick a genre, look up their catalogue, Find a song you like, and then hear them do it. My faves are: When a Man Loves A Woman, End of the Road, One Man Band, Do YOu Hear What I Hear (xmas and i think their best arrangement of any) and Mayday (save this one until you've listened to at least five of their songs. Enjoying your reactions. Pure. Enjoy.

Sub'd because of HF! And to save you some time...here's a cheat sheet I appropriated:
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance. A lot of time they each have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire ( 41) can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) ( 40 )very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis, Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) ( 42 ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland, Texas
Austin Brown: High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )( 37 ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass ( 39 ) deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County, Alabama. Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean: American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys: Elvira
Kenny Rodgers: Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message)
    Billy Gilman: One Voice
    Alabama: Christmas In Dixie
Mark Wills: Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end )
Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band: God Bless The USA
Any many more. They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim, Austin and Chance So they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) When A Loves A Woman Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Unchained Melody Butts Medley/ Remix Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Might As Well Be Me ( Original) Playing With Fire ( Original) Remember My Name (Original) Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Cruise I Want Crazy Christmas In LA ( Newest Release Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble really nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read

Avi has the Knit hat and he WILL GRIN IN AWE when the LOWEST BASS herein does the final note ...... TIM FOUST is that Bass man .... who if not already amazing ..... has a three register voice - his Tenor is unreal.

  • @Badger77722
    @Badger77722 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

This video has two of the deep bass singers from a cappella groups, Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan. Avi is now a solo artist (the Pentatonix song you reacted to had the "new" bass, Matt Sallee), writing and performing his own songs, and is definitely worth a look. Tim not only sings with Home Free, but also has a solo channel and does a number of covers of his own - again, definitely worth a look.
The third bass is Geoff Castellucci, who sings bass with the a cappella group VoicePlay, and who also has a solo channel - and both of them are definitely worth a look! VoicePlay is known as "the theater kids of a cappella" for their tendency to use sets, costumes, makeup, lighting, etc. in many (although certainly not all) of their videos. Geoff is known for his ability to sing very low using a technique called subharmonics.
All three groups have a common intersection - all competed on the NBC a cappella competition show The Sing-Off in the early 2010s. Pentatonix won the third season in 2011, Home Free won the 4th season in 2013 (yes, there's a gap there), and VoicePlay competed in the 4th season but was eliminated about 1/2 through the competition.
All of the groups cover a wide range of genres, so you can find just about anything you like from one (or more) of them!

This is an older video, so HF has had one lineup change and is about to have another. Beatboxer Adam and baritone Chris Rupp founded the group in 2000. Tenor Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses) was asked to join in 2008. Bass Tim Foust (who can go even lower than this) has been with the group since 2012, while tenor Austin Brown came aboard early in 2013. Chris Rupp left the group in 2016, and was replaced by Adam "Chance." Brown announced last week that he will leave the group by the end of the year, so no one knows who will fill that slot and how HF's sound will change.

They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me, Colder Weather and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Both Avi and home freeze bass Tim Foust or basso profundos so they can go lower than a bass. There are videos on TH-cam of each of them blowing speakers. Avi left Pentatonix in 2017 for personal reasons. It was amicable. I really hope you go down this acapella rabbit hole. I am partial to Pentatonix butt and equally in love with home free voice play and the bass gang who are newbies on the scene compared to the other three. All of the groups have extremely loyal fans. The fans will follow wherever their groups go and that usually means if you're going down the rabbit hole you're subscribers will go up. I subscribed in the hopes of more acapella. Also AVI has an extremely successful solo career going. It's not acapella he sings. Most people start with change on the rise

Oh yes, I know that song well! It's fantastic! Johnny did a wonderful rendition of it! It's originally written by Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. I listened to it back then when I was about 17!

If you like this version they dropped a new version with Adam Chance known to fans as chance as to not confuse anyone since there is 2 Adam's in homefree instead of one but chance was not in the group when they were on the singoff and when this version of this video was made so yoy might want to check it.
Homefree do not do covers they do upgrades and they're concerts are not concerts their parties.
Also us homefree fans are known as homefries

@MrsRealistic if you want some homefree suggestions, you might really like man of constant sorrow, champagne taste on a beer budget, hillbilly bone is a good one. If you want a good funny one you might enjoy the butts remix. If you like Adam Rupp's beat boxing you really should react and check out some of the drum solo videos fans have taken at homefree concerts. The sea shanty medley and there skull and videos are good as well as the 150+ videos on there can should give you a good amount of videos but since their is only one video I suggest you wait until you know each members names and what they can do vocally.

Avi should of stay'd with PTX. But you do what you need to do. PTX won 3 Grammys. Home Free none. And Home Free has been around a very long time. PTX started 2011 after winning a sing contest.
