Another successful month from Radiance, another unsuccessful month from me gaining storage for the titles. Excited to see more Swedish titles specifically.
Radiance is Insane. I'm getting all these except POV which I already have their LE. They are killing me and I just preorded The Hitcher box from SS. What a time to be a film collector.

I like the look of these, but can’t afford them all. I’m a big Silents fan so maybe Haxan and the box set. Maybe hope for one of the others later on. I notice that all these have bigger release numbers than usual. I’m behind in Radiance releases as it is this year. They just seem to hit the spot month after month. So good.
Radiance have been a revelation since they appeared on the market and have just gone from strength to strength and pretty much every release they have done has been great and such a broad eclectic mix of genres they cover too. This set of releases all look very enticing and I am partially interested in Vampiri and the Ghost stories box set. I have the US Criterion of Haxan which is very nice but this Radiance set looks much better so I definitely want to upgrade to the Radiance one though I'll probably still keep my Criterion, I don't tend to get rid of those even if I buy a more 'upgraded' version of a Criterion film on another label. Haxan is really creepy and bizarre and you will certainly enjoy it.

Again, it's going to be an expensive month. Radiance, Second Sight and Eureka have all knocked it out of the park with their releases.
No one’s asking the real question here! Why do they all wait to the same time to make these announcements!

I'm honestly not one who's fully into silent cinema, but I have seen Häxan. The cut I saw was 100 mins, I think. Very creepy, but it has a very subtle and ironic sense of humour about it as well.
I Vampiri isn't my favourite Italian horror (to me, Freda himself is a competent but unremarkable director), but as a stepping stone in Italian horror, it's good enough, I guess.
Oh, a little off-topic, but did you ever get around to the Jean-Pierre Mocky boxset (or is it a Patreon-exclusive vid, idk)?
And, dare I ask... the fourth film on the Cardona Vol 2 set?
I’m just about to start the Mocky set tonight. So that’ll be soon. I also have Sympathy for the underdog, bandits of orgosolo and Trenque Lauquen to come from radiance.
The 4th cardona film review is all done and is just waiting to be posted at some point.

I really like Haxan, that's the one I might add to my collection from this bunch. I was waiting for this announcement to finally buy Tchao Pantin and maybe some other titles from recent months, but I might wait now and first get through the current Arrow sale which looks super promising as well.
I have to avoid the arrow sale at the moment. I have too much to watch already.
It's a down month for me because I am not a big horror fan but can't complain. Radiance is killing it in 2024 and can't wait for future releases
It's exciting that this is the first of the October announcements.
Never waited so long for a classic I love to upgrade from DVD buy looks like it'll be worth the wait. What a beautiful looking set.

All are great. Not sure if I love this version of Yotsua or the other one from the same year (I am puzzled for years which one I have seen). But The Bride from Hades alone is worth the box set in my opinion. I love that one.
All of these films look great! I have the criterion Blu of Haxan and it looks like it's the same scan and extras. So I'll pass on that one. Otherwise, I'm all in on the rest.
I’ve almost bought the criterion release a few times, so I’m glad to see it get a U.K. release.

There are some different extras - also three scores which Criterion doesn't have plus one additional cut of the movie
