As always, another great video Joe!! I just wanted to say, as a safety thing...use caution vacuuming up the ash and coals from the stove. I am a firefighter and have been to a few fires over the years where folks have sucked up a hot coal and it burnt the vacuum up and unfortunately one time their house. I along with all your followers and yourself would be devastated if anything happens to the tent!! This is by far my favorite channel on TH-cam or TV!! Take care.
I have a longer video of them eating out of my hand on my other channel called Northern Seclusion. Here is the link. Thank you. th-cam.com/video/I7b0LQ_fkDQ/w-d-xo.html
Yes !!! I find you every fall/ winter for these awesome cold weather, in the tent videos. Longtime subscriber. First time commenting. You inspired me to do a Iowa crawdad boil this summer. My family thought it was awesome !! Greetings from SE Iowa. Keep up loading and I will keep watching !!
well Joe i just don't know what to say this time that hasn't already been said other than your a good man. thank you for taking us along on this years Minnesotas opening deer firearms season 2017. there are so many comments this time, your followers are defiantly speaking up for your support. you really have been blessed with everything you have there and i am proud that you have included all of us along with you. my dreams of such a place are only dreams and you bring those to light with your videos. Thank you. I hope you and Melissa have a blessed Thanksgiving and a safe trip down to see her. Thank you again Joe stay safe and bless you and your family. Thanks again.
Amazing! I remember when yo had battery power, A generator and now power. Love to see you bring the wood in, I do it all the time! No onemakes the lifestyle videos like you! Keep em coming!
I'd have to agree 10 minutes into the video already making my day absolutely love watching the show. Hope you have good luck next week. Love to watch you butcher a deer
Thanks for the new video Joe ,we don't do much dear hunting in Australia . The men usually go for Kangaroos.and wild pigs. Love the bird feeding . It must be so cold sitting in the stand go luck on your next attempt. Regards Chris
Ha Joe just wanted to wish you and your family a great Christmas and all the best in the new year .Thanks for all the videos keep them coming, really enjoy watching your adventures at the tent Dale
Nice video Joe! Even though your not seeing much, just getting away out in the woods is the best feeling. This weekend is our deer opener in NY. Can’t wait to get some tree stand therapy lol
Whitetail deer are known to feed 5 times a day so certain days they will literally be FORCED to move. I like your thinking of "I can't shoot them at home" because you are 100% right. If you get a string of cold days let's say 1-2 days of low teens and then it shoots up to mid 30's I would try for an all day sit because the deer(especially bucks) will be on there feet looking for food and the next hot doe! I love your videos they hit home because I live right here in Minnesota too. Keep up the great videos! -Treyton C
Joe, I'm sure those two birds were happy to run across you! You made two new friends! Hopefully next weekend will bring you better luck, this weekend when I am in my stand I'll be wishing you and all the other hunters luck!
After making a cook like that with the frying Pan out love to see you show a step-by-step on how you clean that frying Pan being that it's cast iron with no plumbing thank you love your channel.
Great video work.. Oh my gawd, -10 , doesn't seem a hunter could withstand temps like that, i'm not so sure i could unless i had one of the new electric heater hunting suits.. battery powered .. I gotta hand it to you , you are out there working at getting a deer.. You fix up some meals that look really tasty .. Johnny's Seasoning salt i ordered came, Hunters Blend, pretty good , it's funny none of the fellows i hunt with have even heard about it ... I hope you score..
Joe I was wondering if you put new propane bottles on your lanterns when they run out or do you refill them. I just recently discovered a adapter from a large propane tank to the small ones and refill them yourself. I believe it will save me a few dollars in the long run.
hey Joe them birds were awesome watching them eat out of your hands that was so COOL I sure hope you get one our rifle season ends tue the 21st then doe season is Dec 1-3 then muzzle loading season is Dec 23rd through Jan 2nd i had a neighbor gave me a doe last night the 18th of Nov so i will have some deer I'm 60 years old and have never harvest a deer yet i still go out and try just getting out in the outdoors is great I really love your videos you put in a lot of time making them and i am glad that you do and i watch every add that's on them i hope it helps a little tell the next one stay safe tell your kid hi for me from bob in Missouri
I am a Korean viewer who is always listening to your videos. I have a question. There was always a lumbering agent that you used to use for firewood. What is the liquid used for wood? Alcohol ... Oil. Any other substance? I really love snowy tents. 멋진 텐트! 화이팅!
Hello, to be honest I hate those long videos, most of the time they are borrowing. But yours........can’t be long enough. Great great stuff. I appreciate those TH-cam videos knowing that none of you is a professional and knowing how time consuming this is.
As a new video suggestion - take us through, please, how you hunt a stand in 10 to -10 degree weather - layered clothing, heater options, hand and head protection, boot options, protection from wind chill. Here in Michigan, we understand hunting on 20 to 30 degree mornings, but your temperatures entail a whole different level of preparation and logistics. Thank you.
Hey Joe that looked bitterly cold. At least you got two new friends to keep you company while you're out there. You'll get one this next week when you're out there again.
I have to give it to you Joe, sitting 4 hours in those temps is not easy to do. I go out in the cold but usually sit for a while then get up and walk a bit.
great video again Joe , joe any problem starting the diesel in the morning ? do you plug it in ? is that the 6.0 diesel ? last ? you happy with it ? Thanks Joe ,,,,Jim from MI
Joe do you ever use the side tank on the wood stove? My buddy has one on his sauna stove and it works great for hot water. And oh yes, we always had polka music at wedding dances in my day....
I have but once it all boils away its empty and always having hot water on demand is fine but only if you need hot water, otherwise its gone and you need to re heat more. Thats why I just heat it up in containers.
I am a new subscriber and now I'm hooked, spent a whole afternoon checking out your older videos. I esp. liked the series on building your Dad's cabin. Your videos are some of the best on TH-cam (not shaky and very well edited) can't wait to see the next one! I have 2 questions (that you have probably already answered) but here goes. What cameras do you use and why don't you build your own cabin? Thanks again for the great videos.
Question ? Is your Tent , Troubled with a lot of Field Mice, Inside getting into everything, Our Hunting Cabin is troubled with them, This time of the year, when they are looking for a place to keep warm also.
Joe, are you the bird whisperer now? Lol! That was cool, but I thought I saw that one bird eat a m&m! I think it was a blue one! Lol! Awesome video! Hang in there, and good luck!
Yo Joe, love watching your tent videos. Alway relaxing and makes me want to get to the outdoors! Hope you get a deer! Also, get a bigger bucket for your ashes for the stove. LOL!
Hi Joe...I am 6'5" tall and was curious about the dimensions of your bunks. They are starting on our cabin in the morning so I will be starting the build of my bunks this weekend. Thanks in advance!
Love the videos, life is good in "Gods Country". Sitting in a deer stand, observing nature, that is what it is all about. Listening to Saturday morning polka on wely, does it get any better.
I am going to post a longer video on them eating out of my hands on my other channel Northern Seclusion. I may do that yet tonight. You will have to check it out. They are amazing.
Joe, what kind of camera do you use to shoot your videos and what editing software do you use? Your videos are great! I watch them to unwind after a hard day at work.
Hey Joe, I'm interested in what type of laptop you use and your video editing software. Not sure if you have mentioned that in past video coz I haven't found anything. Thanks for the awesome videos.
Thanks for posting Joe. Always enjoy your videos. How do you get cell phone service and internet when your at the tent? I know you are in a very remote area. Thanks again Joe!
What a life, you got it made! I could live at the tent. Matter of fact maybe you should let me live their year round to maintain it free of charge. Lol
Cool love whiskey jacks used to feed them when i went snow mobiling in the mountains. Stop for lunch and they would land on my knee. Also known as grey jays
That 4 hr drive would do me in.My camps 20 min from my house ya I know big trip ! But I am fro Eastern canada don't have to go far to find wilderness luck that way
Joe I do not know if you are hunting national forest land/public but is it a place you could plant turnips or some type of food plot or improved vegetation?
Great video! Love, love, love the footage of the birds eating out of your hand. Sorry, but I had a good giggle seeing the droopy drawers in your long johns. :P
Joe you are one brave soul to go out in weather conditions like that; truly a die hard, dedicated hunter you are. Beautiful birds that kept you company; they seemed to like your trail mix lol. What are they called? I've never seen that species before. Hopefully on the final weekend you get a break, weather permitting.
Joe I see you dehydrate, what foods are good and what type of dehydrator do you use? Maybe if possible could you do a video of your techniques for this if its possible....?
Man that is so cool feeding the birds - better than the picture! It’s terrible you haven’t gotten a deer, and I cant get anyone to come shoot them at my house. If I knew how to clean one, I’d do it myself...
Curious....did you ever think about planting berries and stuff near all of your stands? If they come there in the summer then maybe they might come there in the fall or winter days......Just an idea. I'm sure that those birds will be back :)
Damn Joe. U got about as much luck as I do. Been a few years for me also. Honestly it's not about the kill anymore. I just love being at camp. Our gun opener is this wkend. Gonna spend a few days. Good luck brother!! Lou from N.Y.
What kind of birds are that? It's great to see that they avoid the candies. Thank you for your videos, it's so relaxing to watch them. And good luck for your hunting!

Great video, you guys have a very wonderful tent. Sorry no deer, but there is always the next trip. Thanks for the video.

How about a few ice fishing videos this year Joe! With those temperatures up there, there has to be at least 6 inches I'd say?
Good luck!!

Cynthia Weathers
They are Canadian Gray Jays, also known as " whiskey jacks "

Great video. Have you thought about doing a Thanksgiving video up at the tent?
I did Thanksgiving up here once. Now I go to Louisiana. My flight leaves next Wednesday and I will be down there 5 days.
Oh, ok
I love your editing! Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for the vid, always great to enjoy the experience along with you all. Are you still shooting the Axis, wondered if you were happy with it?

Evening Joe,
With there being a hot water tank on side if stove, do you use it, not seen you , but thought to ask.

I have but once it all boils away its empty and always having hot water on demand is fine but only if you need hot water, otherwise its gone and you need to re heat more. Thats why I just heat it up in containers.
Be curious to see if those same birds keep coming back?! Outstanding way to break up the long stays in the stand.
Another great video buddy. Good luck next weekend. Can’t wait to see your next post.

I do get some mice yes but I keep plenty of "snacks" for them to eat so once they eat it and leave they do not come back. lol.
Joe, are you the bird whisperer now? Lol! That was cool, but I thought I saw that one bird eat a m&m! I think it was a blue one! Lol! Awesome video! Hang in there, and good luck!
That shot with the 2 birds was great! I'm sure they were happy to see a nice meal with all that snow around!
Just saw the next one of them later in the video, looks like you got a couple of pets now. Lol
Yo Joe, love watching your tent videos. Alway relaxing and makes me want to get to the outdoors! Hope you get a deer! Also, get a bigger bucket for your ashes for the stove. LOL!

Love your vids ... silly question here ... where does your sink drain to in the winter ?
It always just drains out on the ground. Hardly any water really goes through it when you think about it.
Joe, I was watching an older episode where you warmed some canned green beans. My question is what did you add to the green beans, I could not tell.
? probably Johnnys hunters blend seasoning (for sure)... maybe some butter? I am not sure what video your talking about.
thanks...I enjoyed it.....the feeding of the bird was great! Glad it was a safe hunt.
Are those gray jays ? They are pretty neat either way
Joe you are one brave soul to go out in weather conditions like that; truly a die hard, dedicated hunter you are. Beautiful birds that kept you company; they seemed to like your trail mix lol. What are they called? I've never seen that species before. Hopefully on the final weekend you get a break, weather permitting.
Best video yet
Soooo.....guess it's been awhile. How'd the bunk feel ?
Small but I did sleep well. Lol.

Temps and Winds make for some tough Deer Hunting Joe. Enjoyed the video. Made me appreciate the weather where I am. TX Gulf Coast.
Glad to see you cook with Cast Iron--Good Job !
Nice video and hunt. I love your tent. Do you ever ice fish on that lake?
Awesome work on your videos. I love them.

Have you ever asked the DNR if you could clear out some shooting lane for your main stand? Also keep the videos coming my family and I love them.
Damn Joe. U got about as much luck as I do. Been a few years for me also. Honestly it's not about the kill anymore. I just love being at camp. Our gun opener is this wkend. Gonna spend a few days. Good luck brother!!
