I just love Sarah's reaction to the time to get up (LOL) . Your videos are so entertaining that it isn't necessary to get a deer. She makes for a good hunting buddy. Your meals are to die for also. I have hunted in Montana before. Beautiful state but I do like the forests of NE Minnesota. Its a different type of beauty because it does not have the wide open spaces but I like that better. Thank you. Joe

Absolutely awesome Joe. Man this beats anything on television, If there was a way to purchase a box set of your hunting trips I certainly would. As I have said before this is what its all about. I hope I can have the kind of relationship with my kids when they get older as you do. My little girl is a fan of Sarah and she cant wait till she is old enough to go hunting "like Sarah" LOL so you see your videos are much more than just videos. Gosh I love this channel. I grew up on a farm in the pacific islands, the U.S. territorial island of Saipan to be specific. And this channel reminds me of some of the best times I've had in my life with my family on that farm. Please don't go away, ever. I vicariously re-live my childhood through these videos. I stumbled upon this channel 2 years ago after looking up deer hunting videos. I watched the 2012 Movie and loved it, but never subscribed and so I couldn't find this channel, and didn't remember the name. At the time I didn't know I could look through my history to find it. Ever since, I have been looking for this channel with no success, until about 30 minutes ago. This channel truly shows what deer hunting is like in Northern Minnesota, so thank you. Please, please, please do a 2017 movie this year.
I love your primitive fire starting techniques you have. But the best thing is the view. I would love to just stay a week in the cabin out of hunting season. I love your videos.

There's a homespun quality about them that makes them very appealing. Much more technologically complex than I realize I suppose. But they come across as being being uncomplicated - just a story about a couple of people in camp and in the woods. Very nice.

Hi Joe, I just found your channel a couple of hours ago and was watching the Backwoods Cabin videos and then a couple of others. This one so far is my favorite :) I gotta say you're an awesome dad to take your kids out and teach them like you do. They're so lucky to have you for a father.
Another wonderful video, that French toast at the beginning of the video made me crave french toast, Half a loaf in each slice, nice... To bad about Sarah's deer but you are right, it happens. It's not what a hunter strives for, but an unseen limb could cause a deflection. When that happens you have to do your best to recover the deer and it sounds like you guys did just that. Have you ever tried a quitter approach to your stands like peddle bikes. I've use them from time to time with great success. Beats walking and you can cover a lot of ground ever quietly. Thanks for taking us along on another great adventure. I love how you converted your tent into a beautiful cabin. Looking forward to seeing your return in another 8 days. Best of luck...

There is another little diner in that town that is really good if your interested in trying something new. Its past the one you stop at, you go down the big hill to the stop sign and take a right. It is on your left then, Rustic Diner. Good luck when you go back up!
You have about as much luck deer hunting as I do muskie fishing. Hopefully that will change for you on your next trip. I guess that's the difference between you and I, you're a hunter and I like to fish. I look at your pretty lake and want to be in a boat and not on a stand. But to each their own. I also love the duality of your tent, the old fashioned things like the outhouse, cast iron pans, heating water on the woodstove, campfire cooking, and so on, versus the microwave oven, flat screen TV, internet, laptops, NOAA weather radio. Makes for an interesting combination. lol lol

Loved the video. This year was my first time going deer hunting and was lucky enough to get a 6 point buck. Hope you get one next time you're at the tent.
when staring to using lighter fluid, you can drop some on the floor it could start a firer ...you could put the wood in a buck out side then use the lighter fluid out side then bring the buck inside an put the wood it in the stove. a lot safer that way. love Your videos
