      Nonsense poopy pants!
      I own an almost identical Series2A to the one Jim Carrey destroys in the movie. I had not seen that movie until after I bought my Landy. That scene rolls me up every time!😆🤣😂

    In England we would call the land rover "triggers broom" not granddads axe.

    Maybe not the doors with those original graphics but Oxford deserves some paint. Awesome little truck but not sure he is pleased to be lookin' like a rust bucket. And the factory color is surely still available. Thanks for the story and go, Oxford, go, keep on truckin'

      the doors are original. The First Overland had a few sponsors.

      @@centresteerpodcast Oxford deserves to be gussied up and shown around town properly. And I grin as they can do whatever they want, but the rat rod look doesn't do him justice, in my opinion.

      @@robbchastain3036 We call that patina. Less a full on restoration and more a rebuild to have it running & operating. Adam Bennett, the new owner, is sharing Oxford with the world instead of putting in a museum never to do important things again. Oxford toured America in 2020 and is currently in New Zealand.

      @@centresteerpodcast All of this is the coolest and I'm not picking on Oxford or his owners, just that I enjoy seeing an old car or truck pop with color and thankfully I still see 'em running the roads of Central Pennsylvania--yesterday I saw two gleaming '69 Camaros and last week I noticed a gigantic, chrome-adorned Chrysler from earlier in that decade. And that's all, no disrespect or anything. And I had never heard about that epic post-war road trip by those young Englishmen and hopefully that newsreel footage is here on TH-cam.

      @@robbchastain3036 We're all good. Search for "First Overland" by Tim Slessor (one of the six on the journey), the book is excellent. Graeme Aldous produced a video of the same name about eight years ago. We have covered Oxford, First Overland and Last Overland on the podcast. You need to make it to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.

    fantastic - I can't imagine putting 10 or 12 hours a day in that thing - drove a 94 Defender NAS across country and I thought that was bad - 5 speed no A/c no cruise

    The legend. Idiots today can’t even turn off the AC for a minute lol. Let alone manual steering, thin seats, manual, bashing suspension, etc. Just like the old Bronco compared to new.

    The original Oxford is fantastic pity this is a fake. The roof is only part that did the original journey

      How do know this

    • @West4ea
      @West4ea 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was detailed in the original article on the rebuild. It’s got a new chassis and bulkhead. It was dumped along with another series 1. They found bits of chassis but no number to prove it was Oxford. both were brought back to the U.K. the doors have been repainted and made to look old. The roof is the only guaranteed part that’s original to Oxford.
