87-year-old to drive overland from Singapore to London

- An 87-year-old man who made history by driving overland from London to Singapore 63 years ago will be doing it all over again in August. This time, Tim Slessor and his six team members will be making the journey in the opposite direction - from Singapore to London. They hope to complete their return journey in 100 days.

The original trip from London to Singapore inspired me to purchase my first series 1 diesel Land Rover in 1957. It's still going strong. Then in 1965 a series 2A diesel 109" station wagon. Even with the famous Land Rover idiosyncrasies , these machines have always brought me home under their own power.
