    Is there a more satisfying sound than a Javelin "POP" when it makes that perfect contact? I think not.

    The stability of those slugs is amazing Matt! And the QC at the slug factory is impressive.

    Yo at 4:51…if anyone caught it…the slug actually ricochets into the pigeon on the top left and with a lot of power too. Very impressive.

    • @larrycoleman2225
      @larrycoleman2225 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I noticed that, as well. I have to ask what keeps those slugs from just going through the roofing material? I have had issues with much less power than they use?

    • @hankatronic33g
      @hankatronic33g 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@larrycoleman2225 the slugs usually come out of the pigeon expanded or mushroomed out so they are less likely to pencil through the roof and usually just ricochet off whatever they hit

      I was just about to say the same thing. I wonder how far the 2nd pigeon got

    • @danv9113
      @danv9113 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@larrycoleman2225 I've seen them answer that question in the past, they State due to the soft lead and slight angle of the roof when it gets hit the Slugs ricochet... but the corrugated steel has some flats that are getting hit. But it seems to work because with all of the footage we have watched I've never seen a hole

    Awesome video Matt you and the guys and Maggie were just having way to much fun testing slugs and I never get tired of hearing that loud pop sound when you have impact.

  • @ToreDL87
    @ToreDL87 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The one Maggie slocked in the crop was a pure projection of power. Maybe the pigeons are connecting the dots when white Toyota's are lining up and their friends are getting cancelled, left right and center 😂
    Of course Roelf found a sparrow 😁

    I think there is a two for at 4:52 the pidgin ( gray back with two stripes on lower half facing out from target) at about the "9:30" + position shows what appears to be feathers flying from neck/head after the slug had gone through target pidgin

    Do you think that you could develop a slug that would work at 30 ft lbs? Nothing I have tried so far offered an advantage over pellets but I would like better terminal ballistics if possible.

  • @jonathanstein1783
    @jonathanstein1783 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Aha! Now I know why you can afford these top end PCP's. I can't even afford an entry-level PCP, but I can afford a .22 caliber rifle. The one I use for varminting is at least 60 years old, and I use the low powered CB long rifle round. I still make sure of my backstops, and never shoot if there's any question of a round going somewhere it shouldn't.

If I could afford that kind of set up, or if it would be worth it, since I’m Canada those are powerful enough to be considered firearms, I’d be buying slugs from you for sure.

    Right! Now you need to put a 40gr Javelin slug on top of a .22LR! That would be far more efficient than any run of the mill .22LR LHP from the likes of WW/S&B/Remington/Federal etc.

    I don't hate them but my K1 do not like them either, they won't fit in the magazine. :-( The H&N 40gr Heavy Slugs have a smaller hollow point so they just fit in the mag though. 40 grain is perhaps a bit much for the little Huben, I mainly shoot the 34grain Javelin but it is allways interesting to test new ammunition. :-) Great shooting as always, big thumbs up!

    Hello!
    I need a capital information.
    I have seen videos of hunters hitting their target with a zero calibrated scope with a wind that I estimate between 8 and 12 mph .
    I don't understand why, despite such a wind that makes the tree branches blow, despite the fact that they didn't use the wind and distance settings that should have changed the zero, they hit their target.
    I used their parameters in a ballistic calculator with the mark of their scope, it should not be able to reach their target at zero point.
    Explain

    • @hankvana2149
      @hankvana2149 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At 40 grains they would be way too heavy for most springers that are best with pellets at sub 900 fps. Light slugs might shoot, don't think they would have enough velocity to be accurate. You need a fairly powerful PCP for slugs. Cheers!
