Try smoke then biltong the Egyptian goose in lemon juice and spices . Comes out quite good much better than cooking and some of the best biltong I’ve made
I can really appreciate the fact you put you misses in as well as all the hits!!! It truly shows that what you do as proficient as you are is not easy! Great work man! Excellent video!
I grew up on the big ranches of Arizona USA. The WW2 heros of Prescott were legends living. In town I was the lawyers kid don't fug with him .. the paperboy became friends with hundreds and they all had guns. Alone on a hill behind a suburb was a concrete bunker with a cabin built on top . Outhouse and shooting range. After a.m. paper delivery I would catch William E Stewart on the pull up bar doing his daily dozen...at 78.... He was Camp Parry Natl. champion 24 years...no scope. Seriously 1000 yards no scope and he beats.... Everybody.... At 78 years old. He familiarized me with everything... Everything... In WW1 fashion rapping knuckles and being bossy... He came home every year with an exact truckload of WW2 ammo ! This meant sore shoulders and grading M1 garands forever by accuracy... Or just making small rocks out of big ones a mountain away...all day... Do this all meant sore shoulders when I see the truck coming back from camp parry ...it's 25 year old ammo plus.. A few linkers ya know... And hours on the Lyman press. Bins with half million loaded and a million to go. Out on the ranch I rode ORO with Ringo. I blew the eye out if a quail at 80 yards with the sheriff range masters snubnose... He missed both barrels. Now Ringo carries a 44mag cowboy Hawes for work. In the saddle is the box clip Winchester 30:06. Ringo has killed more men in history than any other ....er sumthin. WW2 and Korea....there's nothing safe for a mile or two around that guy.... I'm dead serious when we worked. Double O together I was 13 when he showed me where we bury the rustlers... US Ambassador to France bought the ROs and I was invited by the sneakiest man on earth to be the diplomatic gunman as Kissinger and Chase flew in from China Accords... Larry Hendricks ... Larry sneaks up on mountain lions .. he's my new boss. The New Mexico Fish And Game Hunter is now GM of the JJJ corp... We take the biggest names in history on wild really wild hunts in the middle of millions of acres ... So in between all this mom the VA nurse has married 8 of these alcoholic war heros. Navajo Code inventor Capt William Auble ...Fighter pilots F15s and Arabian horse ranch next to Dennis Weaver. ... Marmots and 22s all day all week... Pop pop pop.... And the colonels arsenal.....endless..
Good episode! Reminds me of prairie dog hunting here in Texas back a while ago. We used .17HMRs out 4 windows of a Chevy K Blazer. Killed over 700 in 3 hours! Hawks and coyotes had a feast! Great video!
Great shooting, and I really like how you talk through the misses, too. Every miss is a learning opportunity. As regards retrieving downed birds, you could make a simple clock-face range card and plot the bearing and range of each kill. Then simply walk the bearing, ranging the firing point until you arrive at the animal. I know that's one more thing to think about alonside making a great film, but it only takes a couple of seconds to log a successful hit. Also, I'd love to see you use your air cylinder to inflate a kayak and retrieve birds directly from your dams.
Greetings from hawaii! I enjoy watching your videos that is full of details in hunting. I learned a lot. Wish I have the privilege like yours in owning/enjoying the tools for hunting and of course your playground. Thank you very much. Aloha
A good Irish water spaniel Would be ideal for the way you hunt, I am a Labrador retriever or myself kind of man. For what you do I think that would be great . Absolutely awesome video , will continue to follow
I have been watching you channel for at least 4 years, and this autumn I took a shot at a goose at 364 m with a strong side wind. Man, that feeling when you land a ethical shot at that distance. Har to beat! Anyways, thank you for your hard work and the inspiration you deliver! Greetings from a dark and cold Sweden!
Maybe you could find them with the drone? You could also try to write down the bearing using a simple little magnetic compass and the distance for which you dialed. Your spotter could even plot your skills in either Google maps or some other chart. But maybe I'm just overthinking it.
I wish I could find a nice proper mapping program. Where I could enter bearings and distances and stuff like that. Google maps is way to "user friendly". It doesn't offer professional controls. I just want it for like normal use. But a specifically also for like triangulation of a signal. I am an Amateur Radio Operator and we sometimes do fox hunting. That is when you try to find a hidden transmitter. So you move around the surrounding terrain, and with a directional antennas get the direction. After a few bearings from surrounding terrain, you should have an idea of the location of the transmitter. So I would love to have a program that can do such technical stuff.
That would be so much fun reminds me of my younger days 45 years ago when I would use my 22-250 for groundhog hunting mind you I only had a 4x12-40 I think Bushnel scope and did some 250ish yard shots, would love to come out there and try some shots with that equipment it looks awesome and a great challenge!👍🏻
If you're doing this very often which it seems you are a drone for Ariel video would be amazing and help you collect your kills without wasting a bunch of footsteps
Try slow cooking one of those geese in a crockpot for 10-12 hrs on low. That makes most tough animals fall right apart. I cook a lot of small game that way. I’m glad you either eat or give to others who will eat all these animals, great shooting too!
Nice shooting. My experience with (Egyptian) Gees taken with a 22-250 rem and Vmax is that there isn’t a lot left for your “braai”. Also the lead from the small 51gr Vmax is all over the carcass. Unless you take headshots, but that’s a challenge beyond 150m . All the best from Holland.
enjoyed the vid as usual, with the lost birds your drone would find them for you, just a thought, also if you know your shooting by water carry a fishing rod with weight and treble hooks to retrieve, snag them, it will save you having to waste time waiting .
Very cool video. You need a drone with a good camera to scan the area (finally a good use for these!). A pressurized harpoon and wire to retrieve birds from the lake would also come in handy, especially in the winter... :)
Was wondering if you ever try and shotgun hunt them out of the air using decoys and calling like I do for Canadian Geese and Ducks in the states? Was really cool to see a different type of goose hunt though. Awesome video
Matt...I love the 22-250, but have you ever considered the 204 Ruger, or even the more radical 220 Swift? Both in fact, like the 22-250, are wicked fast , but extremely flat shooting. To be fair the 22-250 is most likely the best of both worlds. Granted...all have their personal advantages. Personally...the 204 Ruger has given me kill shots at 721 yards. Yeah...it was a bit of a Hail Mary shot but it was just done/dead on impact! Truthfully the 22-250 gives you a better projectile weight. As you well know...that makes a big difference down range. Wind sucks, but always makes things interesting! Just asking my friend. The 204 defiantly has its limitation when it comes to weight. I will take the airgun when I can to be honest, but then there are those shots that require more....Oh Well....BTW...your lady is making you a quick lunch break...shut the front door man! You are a very, very lucky man. She is a keeper sir! Very awesome lady taking care of her man like that! Super happy for you both! Hey brother...have fun, stay safe, and God bless you both as always. Take care. My deepest respect as always. Couples that shoot together stay together my friend. I will send you hand cuffs if you need them?!!! So happy for you both!

I've always enjoyed your videos and have learned a great deal from you. My favorites have been the Ox Wagon series. Perhaps a drone could help you cover ground faster looking for downed and even new game. They can even be set up for night hunting, when permitted. Again, top shelf videos and many thanks.
Do you ever keep the skulls of some animals you shoot and send them off to a beetle guy? I think the guinea hen skulls, monkey skulls, and pretty much any other animal you shoot would be cool to have on display. I have a beetle buisiness so I am always looking at the different skulls of animals and how fun they would be to do. Great videos, keep up the great footage and shooting!👍
Haven't watch all your videos yet so not sure if you have a outfit on back of your truck but looks like a wee set up in back for this kinda of shooting to be more comfortable with a seat and gun rest in back of your truck maybe some company make it for you for advertising there company on shooting equipment and great set up for back of truck set up

KILL THAT ANIMAL YOU SAID EXCELLENT!!!.....
@@darmadidarmadi9650 I said excellent work. Pest control is work, so yes. They eat or donate their quarry.

Ha ha, I sure hope it was! Should see it on Google Earth, looks like craters for over a mile.

my Remington 700, 22-250 is the same way. anything over 50 grn. won't stabilize. 40 grn at 4000 fps shoots 1/2 inch at 100 yards. great video Matt!!!
finally upload a new video again. greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩
You have great control of breathing and heart rate.

Awesome shooting, by the way...
How do you get a job doing this? I would like to get in on this action. I do this stuff for fun!

Very cool video.

This is a badass job
Hunting with wife is so happy. Nice👍
Impressive shooting.
You are a great Air gunner

Damn. A 150m head shot on a goose. Good shooting man👍
You're a skilled rifleman.

I love guns and I wish I could have it once in my life ... I long for it
I also reload 22-250 love that round I was just curious what power you use and how many grains of power do you run in each bullet
Good god. That looked like a flock of starlings or something. Would have never guessed them for geese
From when you pull the trigger the impact is almost instant! Thwt bullet is travelling at some speed
Can you please give me the details where you get your GoPro scope mount from thanks as we are after one to film our shooting as well.

22-250 looks like my Tikka continental , H380 is my favourite with 55grs Serria or nozler or hornady all seem good
Great shooting, Always enjoy watching your videos! I was wondering what is the scope camera holder you use?
50gr Sierra Blitz Kings are amazing.
Hey. Is that the same GRS stock like in new FX Crown mk2? Great shooting.
👍👍👍 nice shot..
Might be worth your while getting a remote control boat to retrieve the ones in the water
I would like to know the name of rifle you used. I really love the design.
Amazing Mr... ...👍👍
Hi when will you crank up d impact .177cal to 40fpe as the red wolf just did. In trinidad we are only allowed .177cal but any fpe
très belle vidéo 👍 pense tu qu' avec une 222 remington faire le même résultat ou sa manque d énergie par rapport à ta 22-250 ??
Hay Matt. You might need a drone to help you track. 👍🏽 Great video.
Have you considered a 17hmr for middle ranges?
