      conor could not disengage, i dont know who is the incel who made this video, but in grappling, even on the bottom, u have control of the opponent, trying to disengage would ve given an easier takedown for khabib by grabbing the ankles( ankle pick ).

    • @KoahLessence
      @KoahLessence 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@ybench5871 Getting an ankle pick or a low single when someone turns away from you and is pulling their leg out is extremely difficult, especially in MMA where they dont wear shoes. You can actually watch khabib defend a single by turning away and pulling his leg out in training. You can see Al iaquinta do it againt khabib in their fight too. In wrestling you might be able to, but its much harder in MMA

    "Possibly the greatest heavyweight" Who the hell is better than Stipe right now? Also I've always disagreed with the claims DC would have dominated Stipe if he wrestled more. It's pretty obvious DC knew this himself otherwise he would have done it. Stipe landed a lot of elbows and solid punches off his back when DC took him down in the 2nd fight, DC didn't just stop grappling for no reason. Stipe also took DC down fairly easily. Give the guy more credit smfh

      I knew these guys were always big DC boys after their reactions to DC/Stipe 2 and they’ve made a few lists that suggest it as well. This is just another list that further cements the fact.
      Stipe took next to no damage in that first round of the rematch, got up by end of it and even took DC down in another round. He then made it clear in that 3rd fight, that he would not be easily ragdolled like everyone thought and even outworked DC in the clinch. I thought they would’ve realized it, but here they’re still sleeping on his wrestling.
      Stipe will go down as one of the most underrated champions of all time. Especially considering he’s the Heavyweight champ with the most title defenses in the ufc. There’s always an excuse every time he wins

      That’s why you edit the script. You don’t change it entirely. If you were a wrestler all throughout high school there’s no reason why you should force yourself to try and stand with a guy who’s been boxing for almost a decade longer than you. Use your grappling to even the playing field while mixing in strikes to eliminate predictability! Capitalize on your strengths while simultaneously punishing your opponent for thier weaknesses.Don’t play their game unless you’re absolutely certain your experience in said game *RIVALS* their own.

      Moshope Akinwale Yep, this right here is why guys like Frankie and Cain were so successful on the feet. They’d make guys scared of the takedown with level changes first and then would let the hands go and after they got worried about the striking would go right back to the wrestling.

When Ufc heavyweights fight once in every blue moon, fedor decided to stay active most of the time,and go for the top contenders at the same time. As a result,his record doesn't have top guys all the time,which is perfectly fine. I'd rather have that over cain Velasquez showing up to fight jds again for every presidential election any day of the week. Really agree with what was said about DC. Also it's worth noting that his cardio/conditioning near the end of his career paled compared to how good it was between DC's prime between 2011-2015/16. Remember how DC pushed the pace for 5 rounds against Barnett, compared to DC's Cardio during his last 3-4 fights? I feel like if DC has stayed in Heavyweight in 2012-13 and Cain went the LHW route, DC would have likely been regarded as the Heavyweight goat.

    Yosihiro Akiyama in the UFC. Guy was a world class Judoka and greatly improved his striking shortly before entering the UFC (knocking out a prime Denis Kang), but did so by being patient and picking his shots wisely and still utilized his Judo against guys who were clearly better strikers than him, like with Melvin Manhoef. Akiyama in the UFC mostly just chose to stand and bang and charge into guys, push the pace and blow his gas tank fairly early in his fights. He completely abandoned everything that had made him so threatening outside of the UFC. He fought more like Gaejthe before his losses to Alvarez and Poirier when he should have been developing a fighting style similar to Usman and Burn's current styles.

    13:45: 14:56. I respectively disagree with your analysis here. Because I believe Ronda did try to use your wrestling skills as much as possible but, Holly had a solid game plan. As you know Holly has a Boxing and a kickboxing background so, she intelligently utilized her striking as much as possible, while keeping distance to make it extremely hard for Ronda to grapple.
    There were even certain times in the fight when Holly used her strong muscles (like her Pectoral and shoulders etc) to push Ronda away. Even when Holly took Ronda down she used common sense and purposely let her Ronda stand up. because to keep herself in a position where she knew she would dominate. That is stand up. Good vid nonetheless.
