- Unboxing: ARRMA Talion 6S BLX 2018 70mph
The NEW ARRMA Talion 6S BLX not only looks different, but there's also quite a bit more to it than just its looks. Under the hood ARRMA have once again made further improvements to the platform that is now in its third generation, and unique to this car are some components that really set the Talion apart from the rest of the fleet.
ARRMA have definitely designed the new Talion with speed in mind, so much so they slapped a whopping "70mph+" print right on the front of the box. This is a pretty big jump from the previous 60mph+ for their 1/8 scale vehicles, so ARRMA ain't playing around, this car is FAST! Personally, this is a welcomed change for the Talion as I always felt it lived its life in the Kraton's shadow, but with this new look and with the focus on speed, the Talion can stand its own ground and, I think, has cemented a better identity within the 1/8 scale ARRMA family.

I love how this thing handles. It can turn on a dime at full speed, on road and off. Of course I found by mistake when I got a little overzealous with the trigger at a ball field. I hit the pitching mound thinking that I could easily stop but I caught air & b-lined straight to the cage. I came down about 20 ft from the cage & only had time to turn the wheel knob & brace for impact. But it slammed the dirt, kicked up enough dust to blind me & b4 I knew it the damn thing was headed right toward me, & I was somewhere between 1st & 2nd base.

Arrma is no 1 in the E-RC basher market in my opinion. Just love how I can swap parts between cars. I just put some Kraton hub and axles in my Typhon and it is awesome! Got 3.8 badlands running on my Typhon and it's a beast. Can't wait to see your running videos of this. Watch Riches but I have to turn the volume down because of the music he uses LOL. Sorry Rich if you read this. Love your channel too.

Definately a solid platform. Like the vids btw. I have been testing this a a racer against current powerhouse platforms (tekno et48.3, TA RC8T3.1, Mugen mbx7tr) with shocking results! One of the best truggys on the market imho.

I´m wondering, is the shock end partnumber different between the new and old Talion? I´m running typhon shocktowers on my outcast, and the shockend is almost to short makeing the shock spring collar hitting the a-arm. The new Talion seem to have more shock tilt than my modified outcast, that´s why I think the ends are longer, makeing the spring collar sit higher up.

I kind of want to get a v4 Talion, Put some AKA tires on it, Do some other tuning and bring it to a track. Wonder how it stacks up against other truggies on a track? Any thoughts?
All in all.. across the entire Arrma lineup for 2017/2018 they have done a TON of design work and in the 8th scale bash market. You will not find a better selection at a better price anywhere. There are company's that have been around for ages. That continue to offer the same tired line of flawed vehicles at an exxtrodinarily high price. Year Tr after XX@S year !! Arrma tends to take customer feedback and get to work making the customer happy! Thank you Vas for showcasing this vehicle properly! Very well done as usual !

Yes absolutely! The new Kraton will be highly sought after for sure! I really hope other manufacturers take notes and fall in line. Arrma have redefined the market . And truly everyone else is falling behind. Tho that is for RTR . I do applaud the likes of Tekno and Sworkz and Proline . Fo offering bash style high end kits!! That is a brilliant idea! I have $2k race kits. And they handle and perform amazingly well. However I would NEVER bash them. But, I would bash a Tekno MT410!!

I agree as well but Hobbico has now disallowed coupons on Tower for all of Arrma's new lineup. This alone is why I gave Arrma a try. I don't believe the new upgrades justify the loss of the coupons. I think they took 1 step backwards with that move regardless if other company's do it. It really added to Arrma's value using those coupons...

I have mostly been looking at the Talion, mainly because it looks like a supertruggy in itself, but what do you think?

Are they not doing a V5 version with this car? Looks like the Kraton and Typhon go all the new v5 goodies. This car feels in-between the Kraton and the Typhon so I was really looking at it. But id want all the upgrades Arrma put in their other v5's

Which to get Nero or Talion? for general bashing
Nice review I have this version for a little over a week, and I love Arrmar products, on two of them out of the box I had tires come off of the rim due to no glue, and the other was just poor gluing making the tire wobble.

Nice presentation Vas. I too have seen on social media all the other comments about this new vehicle. At the end of the day it's going to come down to an informed personal choice, and you have presented the facts for what they are, and nicely done. Not sure that i'm going to rush out and get one for now. At this stage I think I still prefer the previous model or the Kraton, but that again is only my preference. I've come the love the Arrma brand, irrespective. Can't wait to see the bashing video.

The new Talion certainly looks like a different beast compared to the previous versions, but I don't think it will be any less fun to bash around or even take down to your local track. The emphasis is definitely on speed, but I think ARRMA have been very clever in how they did it and have not compromised its "bashability". But to each his own, there are plenty of other ARRMA bash machines to choose from in their fleet and hopefully there's one (like the Kraton) that you gravitate towards.

I’ve ordered a Talion 6s. It should be here on my birthday which is on Tuesday! I can’t wait to get the batteries charged and in the Talion! I am worried about breaking it but have seen some going over high jumps and surviving. I will make videos of bashing and speed runs. I’m going to be fitting the bigger pinion when I’ve got used to the power.. my last car was a thunder tiger eb4 g3 on four s.

I'm looking to order this to the uk hopefully in the next moth but was wondering if I should install my existing HobbyWing EzRun MAX8 esc V3 T-Plug & EZRUN 4274SL Sensorless Motor Combo instead of the stock sec and motor. What would be the advantage or dis advantage

You can definitely install the Hobbywing combo, but I’d get rid of those T-style connectors, they are rubbish. Stick with the XT90 connectors if you want to get the most out of that system. Personally, I see no need to change the stock system as it has plenty of power already, so it’s up to you.
Aussie RC Playground I will be honest I also have Dx5R Controller system so I’m debating to buy a chassis only. So do you think I would be going the right way with my esc and motor? Obviously I don’t wish to kill the diffs but I would love to hit that 70mph with a higher Pinion. Also what tires would you recommend for a mixer of playing on the road and the grass, I don’t really plan to bash Just possibly race around a track. Ps I really appreciate your videos, your reviews are brilliant

I'm not sure about the Talion V1 but I know the V2 was not released in Aus because it didn't sell compared to Kraton and Typhon. I like the fact its faster then the Kraton and a better basher then the Typhon plus I think it beats both in the looks department. For these reasons I had the V2 imported from the US.
This V3 version looks good but I'm a little skeptical that it can run 10mph faster then the lowered V2 . Would have preferred upgraded electrics with roughly the same ride height. Looking forward to what the new Kraton has to offer.

gear diff or ball diff? if it is a gear diff, is it sealed?

You’ll find that, traditionally, 1/8 scale vehicles will have sealed geared diffs. Ball diffs are mainly used in 1/10 scales and even more common in 2wd buggies.

yoran vaatstra Don't stress There are a plethora of Chinese clones and copies sooner or later they'll be a clone out. Besides I own mostly Wltoys rcs. An FS racing and HSP monster truck and my recent Turnigy 4wd Pro.
You can do so much with basic models on the upgrade/customise side with a variety of brushless setups and shock absorbers eg my Wltoys L979 is an absolute speed demon after the 5000kv motor upgrade with plentiful cheap replacement parts
